Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky said or wrote: “Tolerance will reach such a level that intelligent people will be banned from thinking so as not to offend the imbeciles.”
When I think about it for more than a few moments, I go to a very dark place. I knew there was real evil in the world, but the stench from the rotting, zombie-like demons that have revealed themselves over the past two and a half years is overwhelming to my senses. I can't even explain it to the people around me, so, I've chosen silence and isolation.
With one solitary exception I have given up revealing my views to friends and family. It just results in the loss of friends and achieves nothing. I still do what I can on comments and blogs and forward these pieces to anyone I know who can think for himself. Short list right there.
I am still astounded by how "friends" go by the wayside when you express differing views. Isn't that what life is about? Exchanging new ideas and thoughts? When did life become "I only want to surround myself with people who think and believe as I do"? Such a limiting life. Thankfully, my bestie and I can talk about things and both of us can express, "I believe a little differently than that."
Yes, civil discourse has disappeared....just the way they intended. It was all about keeping your community "safe" and those not following the narrative were shunned. And now UKRAINIAN.
Exactly! Every time I can, I expose our youth to the truths! It boggles my mind that people are gobbling up these falsely inflated homes. Has everyone forgotten what happened in 2007??? I sure the hell haven't. I call out the government hypocrisy each and every day! Why is there homelessness? The govt claims high rents! Why is there high rents? Because the govt allowed 18 million families to be kicked out of their homes unlawfully in the Great Financial Crime Spree! The Great Financial Crime Spree is the result of collision between Wallstreet and our government. Never forget!
Their confidence is warranted, since they control the mainstream press, and the vast majority of “educated” Americans have undergone lifelong conditioning to believe what they’re told while dismissing the skeptical as uneducated conspiracy theorists. It’s a damned effective narrative control process. I know this because all the very smart people I know regurgitate empire propaganda daily on Facebook while turning up their very smart noses to any possibility they might be wrong.
Talk about temerity and fecklessness, what Italian-American New Yorkers might describe as mancanza dei coglioni (missing gonads), thank you Guardian. I immediately went looking in this morning's online edition for their take on this story, hoping for an editorial condemning this entire fiasco by the UK government. What I found was a dry news story. Unsurprisingly, there was no such editorial by a "news source" that greatly benefited from Wikileaks reporting. How these weak-ass excuses for "journalists" can look at themselves in a mirror without shouting "castrato" to their images is beyond my comprehension.
You can loosely classify Americans according to those who care about Julian Assange, and those who don't. Beliefs and values stem from there accordingly.
Amazing, J M, did you write this? I'm dying to see it performed. But didn't Nuland earn a place in the chorus? She'll have to try harder at the next audition.
The hypocrisy and hubris enmeshed in the present narrative on "our" support of the neo-Nazis-- what Russia is trying to weed out of existence in Ukraine--knows no limits. I can't even watch the scribes/stooges(reporters on MSM, corporate sponsored media)) and other political officials call out Russia for exactly the same things that Empire(US and allies) have been doing over the last two decades.(invasion and war) Which, BTW, is what Julian Assange exposed in Wiki Leaks and why he's being tortured as a political prisoner. It's too much for my sensitive disposition and I have to disengage to keep from losing my mind. Peace, all, The Ol' Hippy
and all this hypocrisy that Ukraine fights for "democracy and freedom", while all its opposition is in jail or fled the country, Zelenskiy's key opponent in last elections (Medvedchuk) is jailed and likely tortured. Likely what they would have liked to do to Donald Trump.
As I wrote on another thread, imagine the precedent this sets of extraditing war criminals if the US loses its grip as the sole hegemon. One reader imagined Libya and Honduras fighting over Hillary Clinton. Another reader corrected "if" to "when".
People are traumatized and so desperately want to feel safe and secure...they give their power to daddy government and anyone else who claims to be a protector and acts like they have all of the answers. Truth is, there are no guarantees in life, and there is no such thing as safety and security. Every moment, we are walking a knife's edge of life and death, and instead of celebrating life, most people live in fear of death. It creates the mess we currently have today: people sleepwalking through their lives, too afraid to really live. It is truly a self-created hell, and I actually feel sorry for anyone who lives this way.
My father once said "we are all so fragile." Sting sings a similar theme in his song "Fragile." The fear of death has always been used by oligarchs, the Church, and despots to subjugate the plebians, while they reap wealth from their labor and enjoy paradise on earth in palaces and billion $ yachts. I have great admiration for the Ukranians who are taking a stand in their own defense against the Russian Goliath, audaciously declaring "We are not afraid." Win or lose on the battle field, they are showing the world how to defy the oppressors with courage. They are conquering the fear of death. That's a victory in itself.
I have admiration for anyone who stands up for themselves, though problems are never solved at the level of consciousness with which they were created. They will only perpetuate in an endless cycle of victim and perpetrator, oppressed and oppressor. Trauma must be healed for the cycle to be broken for good.
Freedom's just another word? Russia is selling Iraqi oil/ gas, they'd got from our war criminals. Without Assange we will never know that we don't know.
I looked at all of these and especially found the Ukranian billionaire interesting, who bought out Burisma through a Cyprus off-shore company, funded Hunter Biden, Zalensky & the Azov Battalion. Very curious that his media network broadcast the show that made Zalensky into the Martin Sheen of West Wing--a popular depiction of a wise leader. The Pandora Papers show Zelensky & his production company received a web of off-shore firms & $41M in funding, plus he provided security for Zelensky's campaign.
I think this guy fits Fritz's theory about the Zionists funding neo-Nazis:
"After Zelensky’s victory, Kolomoysky, who had spent the last few years living between Israel and Switzerland, returned to Ukraine to keep up his relationship with the new president, nominating over 30-lawmakers to Zelensky’s newly established party and maintaining influence with many of them in parliament."
I was just reading Taibbi's Intellectual No-Fly Zone. Of 840 government or ex-gov't media appearances on the Iraq war, only 4 spoke against it--3 were on Fox News and 2 of those were Kucinich. Dissent on Ukraine is even more quashed, if anyone's able to think their way through to dissenting in the first place. Thanks for all the other links.
I'd assumed the theatrics were do to Russia's appearing to play along (Putin certainly fooled a BUNCH of my favorite, astute journalists? Kinda makes one go, HMmmm.) I wish I could believe, this would close down Azovstal, until the next 15-20 fracked gas & dilbit pipelines' slabs are sourced elsewhere). I'd cited a link yesterday, kinda looks like Biden's bosses really DO intend to frack scores-of-thousands more wells to supply all the old oil boilers, hurriedly replaced with gas, over the last two years? Democrats planning to throw midterms for massa sure ain't new! But, they need to distract their drunked-up dead-eyed maskless imbeciles from an unreported up-tick of 2-3 million essentials cramming hospital corridors in 5... 4... 3...
What a bizarre photo with that post, of Johnson & Zelensky holding their 'cocks'.
And interesting post on the false flag tactical nuclear. I don't think that the lack of oil and gas will stop Azov, but it might bring the EU citizenry to its senses. They're the ones with the most to lose, who are already paying the highest price (other than the Ukranian pawns and Russian soldiers.)
Aaron Mate has a really informative article this morning going into the history of the US funding the extremists we simultaneously put on the terrorist list:
I'm waiting to see durned Rooskis, shooting down Musk's taxpayer-funded satellites: triggers a thermonuclear exchange, riles brainwashed yuppie 'Murikans into sentience, or (far more likely) is just one more Boss Hogg level protection scam, to take OUR equity & make it, THEIR (name crypto instrument of exchange, here?)
Wait, I have to do an episode on the links you sent before I can read a new batch ;-) And MRonline is a gold mine/ rabbit hole. So many of my favorite journalists--Scott Ritter, Pepe Escobar, Vijay Prashad... whose book on Libya was my go-to for my chapter on Swept Away by the Currency: Libya.
The USA is by any measure the most hypocritical country in the world.
The material for Wikileaks to publish came from a courageous US citizen, free as a breeze.
The Pentagon Papers came from a US citizen, walking the streets every day.
But to top it all off, the UK court system is a disgrace as well, conforming to the demands of a criminal country in this matter. So much for British justice, a fallacy.
Then to top it all we have a weak, pathetic government in Australia (not including the decent politicians who wrote to the feeble Biden on the matter of Julian Assange...just 10 or so), a government who acted against the interests of the truth in the criminal actions by the US in so many war scenarios and who gave no support for one of their own citizens, a respected man who did the world a favour by showing the world the real USA. A disgraceful bully.
Julian Assange is a hero in the book of justice
The truth is the loser, justice disregarded and hypocrisy and arrogance the basis for it all.
I am ashamed of Australia, once respected, now just an insignificant pawn in the immoral US Machiavellian game plan for world domination, more obvious every day and currently on display in their proxy war in Ukraine.
In the High Court appeal, Justice Burnett's bs ruling relied heavily - stated repeatedly in the judgment - on bigger picture continuity of diplomatic good faith between the US and UK. Basically Burnett says the UK trusts the US and Assange's case is not enough to risk a long-term geopolitical relationship by rejecting US assurances or by treating what the US legal team says as anything other than 100% truth.
Does this not make a strong case for an appeal on Article 4 grounds, i.e. that key aspects of the case ARE being treated as political extradition request, which the US/UK treaty does not allow?

This is Russian propaganda! 😆

100%
many have flipflopped, depending on whether they believe war crimes benefit their monetary and political interests at any moment.

Thanks to Assange and Wikileaks we know how much of this murder was done by Canada.
I knew a Serbian guy who now lives in the US, he remembers it - drones flying over their heads, etc

I've had some success getting around the old existential angst following Alan Watts.
I, too, have listened to some Alan Watts. I usually purge through art.
"freedom" is nothing but "having nothing to lose"
yes, when you realize that you have nothing to lose because you are everything...

Is US Security apparatus working, together with Daily Beast, WaPost, NYT, on locating journalist Gonzalo Lira in Kharkov?
Have they contributed to his “disappearance” by Ukrainian Nazi government secret service?
Mr. Lira just published a list of other “disappeared” prominent Ukrainians…
Maybe someone should convince Biden that Assange should be released as he is the person best equipped to investigate those Russian war crimes.
