With one solitary exception I have given up revealing my views to friends and family. It just results in the loss of friends and achieves nothing. I still do what I can on comments and blogs and forward these pieces to anyone I know who can think for himself. Short list right there.
I am still astounded by how "friends" go by the wayside when you express differing views. Isn't that what life is about? Exchanging new ideas and thoughts? When did life become "I only want to surround myself with people who think and believe as I do"? Such a limiting life. Thankfully, my bestie and I can talk about things and both of us can express, "I believe a little differently than that."
Yes, civil discourse has disappeared....just the way they intended. It was all about keeping your community "safe" and those not following the narrative were shunned. And now UKRAINIAN.
I have lost all my friends but that is also due to the fact that I never really settled in one place and country....
It doesn't matter because if they do not respect me for who I am they are not my friends...
You cannot expect me to sing your tune I play the guitar...
Two things... I cared for my father and he learned to respect me because I met him when I was a man again... I left him when I was a boy...
And the only people who truly know me are the ones that trained with me... and they respect me least of all my sifu who i could phone today and he would remember me...
