I picture my dad way back when, dying in hospital of lung cancer complications, experiencing the profound pit of loss in my heart as I watched him leave us. But at least he seemed peaceful, the hospital room was clean, the staff compassionate, the atmosphere appropriately solemn. Then I try to imagine the alternative: instead of the placid face of the kind, just, loving man to whom I'll always be grateful, there lies on a filthy floor, a plastic bag of carnage, bloody human meat that used to be him. And it kindles just a bit of the sorrow and outrage that we need to sustain to realize that Israel must go, Zionism must be eliminated from the face of this planet. ASAP

I feel the same way, Indu. Vin LoPresti worded it so well and so powerfully. It is all so horrific and terrible. It sickens me that my country, the USA, still continues to send our tax dollars to Israel and fund this genocide and these atrocities. When Americans have protested this disgusting use of funding which should instead be used to help people in need, they have been met with brutality and violence from the police, in many cases. Indeed, as Vin LoPresti said, "Israel must go" and "Zionism must be eliminated."

The strike is the only weapon that might stop this. The west needs to strike its masters, and every other nation in the world needs to strike the west.

It will hurt like holy crap. It is the only way.

5,000 screaming protesters outside the capital while the gore-encrusted psychopath inside gets 58 standing ovations in 52 minutes from the traitors who claim to represent those protesters. Our stupid signs are worth every bit as much as our stupid votes.

Strike.

We are out of alternatives, we are out of time: STRIKE

Hi Jenny

There was a certain gentleman from Russia who made several actual predictions about specific events. If anyone here could help me out with his name, much appreciated.

Anyways Jenny, this man stated that there won’t be a US election in ‘24 because there won’t BE a US.

We’ll see, I guess. Truthfully the world would be better off without us.

as long as strikes are voluntary for participants and do not violate the rights of others, I can support that.

However most of what we know as strikes are required and determined by a union where one has no choice on even whether to be a member or not - other than quitting the job

Sorry, I have a much darker view of this awful situation the so called rules based international order is in, several people mentioned this recently: it is a fight to the death for both sides and therefore there will be no compromises ... Very close to this opinion is the recent interview with Alastair Crooke (for my taste it is an excellent view of the bigger picture and we will be very lucky to survive this ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_kCS6Cy0dw)

I read this and wonder aloud "how can my country (the U.S.A.) do this?" Yes, my country - our country - provide the massacre weapons to this genocidal Zionist regime? How do we live with ourselves? What lies must the powers that be tell themselves to justify their support and welcoming of the genocidal maniac Nentanyahu into our Congress and applaud him like he is some kind of God speaking truth when all he gives them are lies so they will continue to provide the genocidal weapons and warships? Shamed and angry is how I feel.

They are like rabid dogs who will not stop until they are destroyed either by the ravages of their sickness or the hand of humanity putting them down like any caring person would do for a terminally ill animal. A sow has the same genetic make up as a woman, though in a slightly different arrangement yet we confine the former to birthing crates til she drops dead. A monkey has the same range of emotions as a human yet we confine the former to research labs and drill electrodes into their brains.

Are we not 'monsters' too?

Thank you so much, Caitlin, for naming what we are all in danger of losing as we relentlessly witness in shock the seemingly endless horror, and the helplessness to stop, the truly unspeakable suffering of our brothers and sisters in Gaza/Palestine. Naming the danger and also the remedy, because having "wide open hearts full of compassion" along with the equally fully human anger and outrage, is the hard inner work of love that feeds all effective actions that can and will stop these malevolent forces!

"Do not let them harden you."

"It is safe to feel."

"The victims deserve our sorrow. We deserve to have wide open hearts full of compassion. And the monsters who are doing this absolutely do not deserve to take it away from us."

"It wasn’t “another massacre” for the people who were there. "

This sentence sums it all up for me. There is never "another massacre". It's THE massacre and THE cause of suffering right here and right now. I'm tired of hearing those in the West say "it's the same old thing--just a genocide." This immoral experience cannot be diluted and numbed down into acceptable pieces. The thought of what we're doing must always sting--and sting harshly. We can't ever forget the horrors we've allowed to happen in our names. We can't ever forget those who would gladly lead us into this genocide of civilians, either. We must remember to turn them over to the ICC for the war criminals that they are.
