Excellent--so succinct. Love the line about the Democrats implementing the GOP goals better than the GOP! Have been trying to communicate this to liberals for a long time.

Its like a sports store that sells one teams memorabilia in the mall and across the way is a store that sells the other teams stuff. Dumbass kids come out of one and start fights with the other kids both wearing Caps and Jerseys with their teams. The same guy owns both stores. This is our political system.

Many people claim religious belief as a means of avoiding responsibility for their actions: ‘God made me do it’ or ‘I do this in the name of religion’. Unfortunately, religious leaders are all too happy to accept this as it gives them power. Never mind that every main religion preaches love and not killing.

Which would you call the main religions?

All of those in the mainstream. I put ‘main’ religions in case there are any cult-type religions which advocate violence of which I am unaware. I would like to think there are no religions which preach violence but I am sure there are a few.

Caitlin, I agree with your take on Palestinians. The fact that this conflict will knock Ukraine off the front page, just as Russia is kicking ass, is suspicious. The west has just been handed the excuse they need to stop supporting Ukraine without having to answer a lot of questions.

One pundit already started this propaganda campaign by writing that Israel was attacked because its protector was distracted by its proxy war. Ludicrous? YES! But we've learned that they'll do or say anything and the population is so numb and dumbed down that they'll swallow it.

Am I saying that Israel deliberately provoked a war just to give the U.S. an excuse to rip the pacifier from repulsive Zelensky's mouth? No, I have no proof. But, when things happen to help the U.S. cover up its huge mistakes, it's rarely a coincidence!

The Israel-Palestine war, like the one in Ukraine, was PROVOKED. On that I have no doubt, none!

That was my first reaction to the news, it is dividing the anti-war right over the question of war. When its a close military ally of the US that has a history of provoking arab nations for US benefit than I say your suspicious is well founded. Who cares if you can prove it or have evidence, if Mossad and the CIA did their job properly there is no evidence to be found.

Expand full comment

As far as dividing the anti-war right, where has the right been going on this issue? What is Tucker Carlson’s position (since that influences or reflects much of the alternative right’s views)?

I think this is the most likely reason, as their entire intelligence apparatus seemed to fail (just like 911) but Intelligence agencies just a day later seem to suddenly be able to tell us Iran was behind it. How convenient. That they collected and confirmed and reported in just a day.

PURE SPECULATION BELOW. However, when big events stir the pot, I "follow the money" and see who benefits.

1)Nuts&Yahoo has "excuse" to accelerate ethnic cleansing. Thousands of Palestinians are being massacred in Gaza by a brutal bombing campaign.

2)Israel could attack Iran and maybe increase its terrorism in Syria.

3)Bumps Ukraine off front page, hiding neocons' horrific failure. May save Brandon 2024.

4)Disrupts China-Syria and Saudi-Iran agreements and cooperation.

Your articles are usually spot-on, this one exceptionally good because it's straight to the point - what does the world expect the Palestinians to do? For at least 40 years this has been a political issue, with solutions talked about, but never implemented. The U.S. clearly needs to cut funding to Israel until a viable solution has been reached. Israel has been so ghettoized with settlements that a 2-state solution doesn't seem possible.

Their must have been some hints of it, but the scale of the operation probably caught them by surprise. So the cycle of violence will continue. We got guys like the corrupt Netanyahu saying they will make Gaza into a rubble city - they've already cut off power to the 750K inhabitants. A lot of innocent human beings who had nothing to do with the Hamas attack will be slaughtered by Israel's inevitable, brutal reprisal i.e. mowing the lawn. The answer to resolving Israel/Palestine conflict is easy but not easy to do. The entire conflict in BOTH sides is rooted in racism; Not the fake racism that the DNC uses as a political weapon, the real kind where Jews think they are ‘chosen’ by a imaginary god and are superior biologically and culturally to Palestinians AND Palestinians believe Jews are all evil and should be killed as their duty to Allah. Get rid of racists in leadership positions. Promote a generation of people that understand that we’re all one life force and all manifestations of ‘God’. Until this is admitted, there will be blood.

The "anti-semite" accusation loses a lot of its punch when upstanding anti-zionist Jews like Max Blumenthal and others are prominent and eloquent critics of Israel. What does it mean anyway? Palestinians are semites. Jews everywhere are very likely concerned, not only in human sympathy for the Gaza Palestinians who are about to be massacred, but how that reflects unjustly on Jews generally. As for Democrats - their callous support for the Ukraine proxy war against Russia is typical: they have launched far more wars than Republicans have, and are typically belligerent.
