Israel doesn't even need to try very hard. It's the equivalent of a barroom asshole picking a fight and saying "since I've got my American friend here, what are you going to do about it?"

When people are starving does anyone think they will stand in an orderly line!

This is getting way way out of hand.

Israel should be demolished!

I recognize the assiduous work involved in bringing to light these verbal distortions.

Well done! These examples are worth preserving. They also are presented in a timely way.

I read today that NY Times and Washington Post hire Israeli intel agents with no Journalism experience to report on the Gaza Genocide. It's bad enough that all legacy media print and Tv are heavily staffed with CIA paid operatives for decades. Evil knows no bounds.

All the protesting against evil seems to have no impact, it feels like all of the worldwide protests have had zero impact on the progress of the IDF genocide. When the ICJ says that IDF genocide against Palestinians is plausible its just disheartening. By the time any credible justice department or news source actually calls it a genocide it will be over and we will be talking about it in the past tense. I think this is the plan by Israel to drag the debate out long enough to avoid it interfering with their evil plans.

Worth mentioning: congratulations to George Galloway for his sweeping victory in Rochdale yesterday as a new MP and his return (after a long absence). A victory founded on his unequivocal rejection of the pro-Israeli (corrupt) leaders in British parliament who are immorally supporting this greatest of human evils: the ongoing genocide in GAZA. Methinks I may have also been witness to the birth and a flashing glimmer and return of that famous brand of justice, Excalibur - and a future Prime Minister.

Excellent Caitlin. Keep educating us. Americans need repeated lessons to break through the trance inculcated since childhood and reinforced 24/7 in msm.

Yesterday, on the YouTube Profile for "Neutrality Matters" by Pascal Lottaz, Helmut Scheben told the story of "Little Max", the point of the story was that "belonging is more important then truth". Clearly for The West, and specifically Main Stream Media or as described, Imperial Media ... there are a lot of "Little Maxs". Too many.

The trap of "belonging is more important then truth" is something that we all must guard against. ... However, too frequently, all too frequently we fall into.

All well and good, but this will only change with action.

While people dither...innocents wither.

From the onset of the Israeli state which has implemented multiple atrocities on the Palestinian people they have relied heavily on not being challenged by using their victimhood of the past as a shield. No more, since it has become very apparent they are quite capable of severe brutality and implementing a genocide of their own. Their word is worthless, and their capacity for death and destruction and their total lack of regard for Palestinian life has become very apparent since Oct 7. No longer are they going to find unchallenged acceptance of their carnage.

Today I read in Aljazeera

"France calls for an independent inquiry as more countries speak out against the shootings of Palestinians seeking food. "

"EU, Germany join calls for investigation

Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, said on Friday that she was “deeply disturbed by images from Gaza” and that “every effort must be made to investigate what happened and ensure transparency.”

"Earlier, the European Union’s top diplomat, Josep Borrell, posting on X, denounced the incident as “carnage”."

"Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it condemned “in the strongest terms the heinous massacre committed by the Israeli occupation” and called for “urgent international action” to halt the fighting in Gaza."

I'm not sure, but despite the ugliness to all of this, I somehow feel that something good is coming from it. An 'awakening' perhaps...or is it just delusion?

Well written opinion piece: not political outrage porn. The final paragraph is noteworthy, but I must disagree with the final 2 sentences: "Cracks are appearing in the illusion, and those of us who care about truth, peace and justice need to help draw attention to them. From there, real change becomes a genuine possibility.". Not with what it aspires to see as a result of Westerners going "woke" because of the major disconnect between what they see on TV & internet videos and the lies the propagandist Western press reports happened, but because "real change" will require a real revolution. This isn't 1789 France or the 1986 Philippines's People Power Revolution, which succeeded because the military supported it. "Only power restrains power." The Empire still has overwhelming power. The French Revolution led directly to the emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, & now dictator Ferdinand Marcos's son, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., is the president of the Philippines, which is once again a client state of the USA. Marcos expanded US access to its military bases, giving Washington a greater presence in the region, while also strengthening military ties with Japan and Australia, two other US allies. Not much "real change" in that environment despite the cessation of Duterte's fanatic drug war. I'm no prophet, but I don't see "real change", e.g. the end of systemic racism or mass incarceration of African Americans, in the US Empire, or a surge of human & civil rights in the Philippines over the next 200-300 years. All the bad shit is just too baked into the political DNA of the Empire's & the Philippines's citizens. And constant propaganda keeps it there. I'm not a political optimist or a cheerleader. I think I'm more a realist. I hope for the best but am prepared for the worst.
