US doing what we do best... launching airstrikes in countries without an air defense system.

Expand full comment

Your line, Gavin, and the last four lines of Caitlin today sum up this whole disgraceful mess.

And look who is there there cheering him on. The pathetic UK, as pathetic as almost all the other Western countries that have thrown in their lot with the US genocide supporters.

Wait until tomorrow, everyone, when the chances are that if the politics can be set aside at the ICJ, we could get an honest response against the Israelis in this matter.

Now as we all know, they'll still try and bluff it out having so many countries by the throat through banking, investment portfolios, graft and corruption, their hallmarks, decades of dirty dealing to get to this point in their campaign for the control of the Middle East and now, with the USA watching their back, still contributing billions to assist, almost the complete US Congress cheering them on. Can you believe it?

Culpable, no less than is Israel.

Now, there's the real crime.

It does not matter what the IGJ says; Israel will continue as they wish. The United States must suffer a beatdown to end this worldwide hegemony.

Expand full comment

The US and the UK have marked the beginning of the ICJ hearings on Israeli full scale genocide in Gaza…by bombing targets in city centres in Yemen, killing civilians…..purely to stop the Yemeni’s from taking action to blockade Israel and stop the genocide.

Presumably the murderous duo will next bomb the steps of the ICj just to reinforce the message about their joint commitment to genocide.

If that doesn’t work they’ll probably next bring in some of the Israeli snipers who apparently soecilze in neutralizing public officials inside courthouses, schools and churches.

And even then their apologists in Europe would probably arrest anyone who protested that, on the grounds of potentially offending anyone sensitive to antisemitism.

Norman Finkelstein said the same on Katie Halper's show.

George Galloway's MOATS show on Wednesday had a guest who made the same argument too. Sorry I forgot the man's name!

Probably Richard Medhurst as I watched it and the very question came up. I was expecting what Richard said but was actually surprised by what George said which does have some relevance in that he said this could provide the off ramp so many countries are looking for! So here's hoping for a big one!

Zionism in WW1 & WW2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyiVf3dOGB4

''Haavara Transfer Agreement:

The shameful pact between the 3rd Reich & German Zionists in 1933 called the Haavara Transfer Agreement. Part of the deal the Zionists made was to break the International Jewish boycott on Germany which would have very possibly been Hitlers downfall, but these Zionists were able to break that boycott and get major funding from Germany with this deal between devils. According to Zionist historian Edwin Black, without this pact the State of Israel would never have been born.''

You can say that again.

Used as a label ages ago. Say it loud, say it proud, zionazis

Expand full comment

Maybe, just maybe,

step 1:

the Zionist movement (allegedly by Theodor Herzl), start & outcome of WWI with a lot of support from British elites, including their MI6, were the main foundation for Nazism to emerge.

step 2:

this very Nazism, heavily sponsored by US-elites then became the main foundation for the horrific atrocities of the Holocaust and Russian civil- and military casualties, torching of Hiroshima & Nagasaki (to get "real death-data" from plutonium and uranium bombs), ensuing Communist rise with its cold-war, etc. which directly led to

step 3:

rise of the US industrial-military-financial complex, dismantling German industry and sovereignty, using their area for long-term deployment of US-troops and nuclear weaponry fuelling fear-porn for decades, inception of a Zionist state in a region of huge natural hydrocarbon-reserves and great strategic importance leading to

step 4:

final death-knell to the European and especially the German economy by coup and war in Ukraine, blasting of North-Stream gas pipes, severing European-Russian commercial-industrial ties for a long time to come, stocking current events in the Middle-East enabling a future infrastructure for full control of mentioned hydrocarbon-reserves, Asia-Europe commercial water-ways and wet-dreams of Ezret Israel "from the river to the river" (Euphrates to Nile).

Big plans underway ...

Direct neighbors should watch out, they'll be the next ones in the line, step-by-step.

🤔🤔 maybe, just maybe

Oh goody! We Australians are in it, too. I heard it on CNN. Not that anybody in Australia bothered to tell us. Not that it was discussed or decided upon in Parliament. Seems it just happened - like when we helped USA to invade Iraq in 2003. Understandable really - as we have more important things to cover in our media. Like - my God - what a disaster when Cricket player David Warner though that he had lost his baggy green cap.

Actually, the reason the Anglos and their sycophants are bombing Yemen is twofold: 1) because Yemen had the temerity to blockade ships moving to and from Israel (aka "sanction" the Zionists, ya know, as the US does unilaterally with other nations) and insurance prices started going up. It's all about the Benjamins, including that murderous clown in charge of Occupied Palestine whose last name sounds like pretty much what he is. And 2) because the 2nd day of ICJ testimony, i.e., Israel's "defense" is tomorrow and the tail has to wag the dog in order to distract from what is sure to be their argument. To wit: "BUT OCTOBER 7 was the biggest massacre of Juice since DA HOLOCAUST! and "Fuck you, we'll do what we want because we have the backing of the world's biggest bullies and they know where your kids live."

The incoherence of the US and UK's approach to international law - or even basic decency - continues to outrage me. I live in the UK, protested the invasion of Iraq back in 2003 by throwing myself in as a volunteer with Stop War. In that process I learned two stark lessons: the downright duplicity and corruption of the state; the honesty and sincerity of most, ordinary people. The latter is where I focus my attention when hearing of crazy shit like this.

Where do we go after this? How can international law be a recourse if it's picked up and dropped like a prom dress?

Asking for a friend.

I was also on that demo. We missed our big chance to take the BBC there and then without any bloodshed. The whole world would have been a far far better place if we had have done so but it's too late for that action that way now as they've doubtless got such moves covered.

Expand full comment

The BBC coverage was what disillusioned me to mainstream media (fortunately as it turned out). We'd be at a demo with several thousand, go home; the only coverage about how a few drunken protesters had been arrested - criminal then. Criminal now.

Things have been set in motion that cannot be taken back. This was probably the biggest mistake of Joe Biden's life. Lots of people are going to get hurt. For some reason the west thinks that Yemen is acting on its own behalf and not on behalf of Gaza. They have made it clear that as long as the Gaza war continues, so will the actions in the Red Sea.

Expand full comment

No, the West thinks (and is told constantly by the corporate media and corporate government) that Yemeni "Houthis" are acting on behalf of Iran. That's why you'll never see them mentioned in any mainstream right, center or left leaning publication without the qualifier "Iran backed Houthi militants." Just like how you'll never see the Russian SMO in Ukraine as anything other than "Putin's unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine."

World domination US style - make all the rules that the rest of the world has to follow except us (America). That's also how the International system is setup - UN, IMF, WorldBank, WTO, etc. - one set of rules for the US (and sometimes its allies), and another for the rest of the world.

Not only is the US such a joke, but so are all these so-called international institutions made of of non-elected members.

And, most of these Anglo-Americans get crocodile tears looking at these fucking sicarios in uniform.

If you aren't ready to see your own Royals and Yankees go down down down, then fucking sign up for the mercenary corps.

Ansarallah spokesman, Mohammed AI-Bukhaiti:

America and Britain made a mistake in launching the war on Yemen because they did not benefit from their previous experiences.

Had it not been for Bush's foolishness in pushing Ali Saleh to attack us in Saada in 2004, the Yemeni people would not have launched the 2014 revolution that ended the rule of the American ambassador in Sana'a and expelled the Marines from it.

Had it not been for the foolishness of America and Britain in pushing Saudi Arabia and the UAE to declare war on us in 2015, Yemen would not have been able today to carry out its religious, moral and humanitarian duty in supporting Palestine.

There is no doubt that America and Britain today regret their previous follies, and soon they will realize that the direct aggression against Yemen was the greatest folly in their history.

Israel wanted to drag the US into a wider regional war, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen et al.

The US wanted that wider regional war but lacked a cover story (WMD, et al), so they worked with Israel to manufacture that pretext.

From the git go, everyone knew this.

Expand full comment

This all conveniently buries the story of massive failure in the Ukraine proxy war, too (and the rise of BRICS and a multi-polar world).

Next stop: Taiwan?

Expand full comment

No, a wider regional war is not in the US's best interests (or something that they want). The US has been busy weakening Russian via its war in Ukraine. It is also trying to focus on pivoting to China and the Far-East region. The last thing in the world that the US needs right now is a larger conflict in the Middle-East to derail its efforts. In fact, the Abraham Accords was all about normalizing relationships in the Middle-East with Israel and the other Arabian countries.

Unfortunately, the US leadership is so incompetent that they have been unable to reign in Israel (for various reasons) - and I wouldn't be suprised if the US lands up paying a huge price for it in the future.
