It continues to astonish me how "intelligent" family, friends and colleagues have repeatedly fallen for the manufactured lies that push these endless war narratives that don't make a shred of sense, without questioning any of it. I think that mainly, these friends just skim their newspaper of choice in their cushy comfy homes over morning coffee as a leisure activity, and are unaffected by what they are reading. The news is understood as "out there" somewhere on the other side of the planet, read at a very superficial level, picking up on certain key phrases that they hear repeated over and over and over. They have no idea that they are being duped. I really can't get over this phenomenon.
And I have no compassion for those people who are the influencers and decision makers in the social order who prove to be complete imbeciles upon examination. They should see through the smoke screens put forth in the MSM but they don't. My cousin, a "respected psychiatrist" (I know, that is an oxymoron,) is a prime example. She reads the NYTimes from cover to cover. She has good comprehension, she can recite back the content, yet she has no critical thought about what she is reading what-so-ever. None. She believes everything at face value, believing the "Grey Lady" to be the beacon of truth, without question.
What is truly astounding is that even when you provide such people concrete and incontrovertible examples of MSM lies (e.g. those used to rationalize the war on Iraq) they keep doubling down.
Yes, it seems that many continue to support these endless wars in an even more determined way than before, even though they know they were lied to before using the very same lies. One friend admitted to me that he knew in retrospect that we were lied to over the Iraq war, but somehow this current narrative war on internet censorship over "domestic terrorism" is somewhat different, and acceptable, in his thinking, just as he firmly believes that door-to-door data mining and mandated jabs are a necessary part of public health. Then he dropped another bombshell by saying that something definitely has to be done about "overpopulation," though he wasn't sure what. When I mentioned the kill-shots, he exclaimed "oh, that's conspiracy!" "I believe in the science"..straight out of Fauci's play book.. When I asked what science? He exclaimed "I don't want to argue over this.."
This video is quite disturbing how this ex-KGB defector could delineate the exact steps to American psy-war infiltration and decline. He doesn't mention who is responsible for this though. The elites? The CCP? the USSR?
"The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses. If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X
Some of the brightest minds and smartest people go to work for companies which spend every minute of their existence to figure out how to place an ad in front of our eyes for 1 more second. And coincidently, these same people also fully support the same politicians. That's how you know that some of the dumbest smart people end up controlling your speech too.
Someone needs to make a list of some of the worst scums of society who have been embraced as the new heroes of democrat party simply because they hated orange man. Bill Kristol and the other Lincoln project clowns, Bush himself, Michael Avenatti, McCain and his daughter, Rick Snyder and so on
“defending liberalism and democratic institutions” hahahahahahahaha! Bill Kristol is to “defending liberalism and democratic institutions” what Democratic People's Republic of Korea is to “democracy” and patriot act is to “patriotism”.
Bill Kristol has been thrown out by 95% of the Republican Party and thus since everyone who hates trump automatically becomes the new messiah of the democrat party. Absolute comedy.
Any article which mentions Bill Kristol but does not tie him to the word Zionist and all that that religious thuggery entails regarding its bipartisan corrupting influence on congress does a disservice, in my opinion, even if mostly the same points are made by other means.
That said, yes, the rehabilitation of the worst sort of people our planet produces into some sort of noble statesmen condemns our entire political structure in a way that any critic could only hope to.
Bill Kristol makes a dandy poster child for this process, but l can also imagine Obama and Bush asking, "Hey, where's mine?"
1. How Kristol effortlessly shifted his nominal alliegances from Team R to Team D, whichever was more likely to give him the wars he so craves.
2. Watch how liberals like Khanna will cheer on Biden's wars of aggression, getting all O Say Can You See weepy, because Team D. (Trumpers did the same thing not so long ago.)
The elites that have been controlling culture for hundreds of years are just fine with these little squabbles. I don't see much hope unless we ban the legal entity 'The Corporation' and get over this nation-state political system that enables said elites. We must rise up...
Please clarify your usage of the term “psychopath”. I’m a retired, but still absent-minded psychology professor. I’ve never been satisfied with the use of the term in the mental health professions. The term seems to refer to folks who are irreconcilably evil and beyond any understanding of scientific causality or treatment.
Glad to see the PNAC get the attention it deserves, as it got so buried under the avalanche of conspiracy theories. In addition, we should remember RAWA, they got buried too.
No, they shouldn't. They aren't the same animal. Most warmongers don't actually pull the trigger, or stab the knife, or touch people where they aren't supposed to.
Mainstream media pundits support the war machine, and we should continue examining the root causes of this, as you continue to do, Caitlin. But we're not going to solve this problem, by picking each of them off and sending them to prison.
It would be a much simpler Justice system, if we could equate every crime with every other crime, and inflict exactly the same punishment and/or restitution. As bleak as things are, I'd rather live in this world than that world.
Non-sequiter. She's comparing people who support war crimes but don't actually kill people, to serial killers & molesters. She's not making a proposal as to how we teach these people lessons ; she's making an angry emotional statement about how much she hates warmongers and wants them to suffer.
Also, as far as I know, sociopaths don't change their spots. But I'm not sure about that.
More importantly, sociopathy is not a crime in itself. Only the behavior gets prosecuted, which is as it should be.
Suppose whatever you want. It still has nothing to do with the comparison and prescription that Caitlin is making, nor the disagreement I have with it.
The goal of 'making some think twice' is not a good reason to inflict levels of punishment appropriate to perpetrators of violence, to pundits who say things but don't drop the bombs.
Anyway, AFAICT, most of the Nuremberg defendants never personally harmed anyone. In particular, Julius Streicher and Alfred Rosenberg were in the dock there primarily for their work as journalists. Streicher, in particular, had little actual role in the Nazi regime.
The judgment against him read, in part:
"For his 25 years of speaking, writing and preaching hatred of the Jews, Streicher was widely known as 'Jew-Baiter Number One.' In his speeches and articles, week after week, month after month, he infected the German mind with the virus of anti-Semitism, and incited the German people to active persecution. ... Streicher's incitement to murder and extermination at the time when Jews in the East were being killed under the most horrible conditions clearly constitutes persecution on political and racial grounds in connection with war crimes, as defined by the Charter, and constitutes a crime against humanity."
No, Feral. You're dodging the subject. For some reason, you responded to my disagrements with Caitlin's main point, with Nazi comparisons that have nothing to do with pundits that are paid by the MIC to spout propaganda.
I'm not interested in the subject of assocations with Nazism or Hitler or the means with which we dealt with the Holocaust, and am under no obligation to travel down this tangent with you.
Find a better forum or thread where you can indulge your personal soapbox, without changing the subject.

Cognitive dissonance, how does it work?

Unfortunately I think we are about to see Big Pharma make Kristol et al. into small change.

Holy fuck.
The very first sentence just made my mind explode.
WTAF??
OMG...
[Insert other apoplectic reaction]
I had never heard of this guy until I read this. I fully agree with you.

Sociopaths learn only from reward and punishment, but they do learn.
Or, why else did we have a Nuremberg?
We are way, way overdue for another Nuremberg
Non-sequiter. She's comparing people who support war crimes but don't actually kill people, to serial killers & molesters. She's not making a proposal as to how we teach these people lessons ; she's making an angry emotional statement about how much she hates warmongers and wants them to suffer.

I am not suggesting a cure for sociopathy. I only seek to make some think twice.
Anyway, I suppose that you think that the Nuremberg Tribunal was unjust?
Suppose whatever you want. It still has nothing to do with the comparison and prescription that Caitlin is making, nor the disagreement I have with it.

You are dodging the question.

Rosenberg and Streicher both hanged at Nuremberg.
