Keep shining the light on the truth Caitlin. The world needs more independent journalists who speak truth to power and refuse to promote propaganda. As Assange said, "If wars can be started by lies, peace can be started by truth."

This is one of Caitlin's best articles to date, and she has a good number of them which have been excellent. This is not for the faint of heart, but it certainly needs to be said in retaliation of the old adages of "thanking people for their service". Do you thank people who assist in murder of an innocent party?? Then why do it here. Just in the decade alone the United States has committed a number of egregious crimes that would have left people like David Paterus, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, John Bolton, Hillary Clinton, Samantha Powers and Mike Pompeo all charged with war crimes in International Criminal Court, for which the United States is not a part of incidentally. The lives damaged by sociopathic corporate shareholders of large military companies such as LG3 Technologies, Raytheon and Boeing far exceeds the :alleged" crimes of leaders of countries for which we engage war against.

It is high time we denounce these foreign lobbys, military corporations and congressional officials who openly engage in facilitating wars against nations for which we should be building relationships. Not trying to destroy them using the blood of US soldiers.

Without even reading it, the title alone garnered a heart. Some things are painfully obvious unless we choose to live in a cartoon.

No matter how you try to spin it, someone of your ilk would not be allowed the freedom to write such drivel if not for the current existence of the American military....Take America out of the equation and you would doing and saying exactly as you were told. if not, China would simply kill you.... Period.

I guess no one can post some well-reasoned criticism of America's war machine without at least one, "If it weren't for our boys in green, folks like you would be eating kung pao chicken, hummus, borscht, burritos, antifa-burgers," or whatever the enemy de jure is serving up this week. Glad you didn't disappoint.

On an unrelated topic, how's Julian Assange doing?

I have serious issues with this type of statement whatever the reason for war cannot and must not Negate the fact that our families have sacrificed their lives for our country and we cannot forget them and the price they paid how can we ever give a soldiers families and loved ones that served in the military comfort while the country focuses on celebrating the death of people who never put anything above themselves in their lives. A criminal who died had a gold casket and the "people riot and loot burning businesses to the ground " they have the freedom to protest wrongdoing and we have freedom to be a diverse country that has the rights that we have because of the soldiers who fought for that and the statement that they recruit people who get nothing in return is bs the military paid for my sons college education and they are learning skills to be successful in their lives.

"...the military paid for my sons college education and they are learning skills to be successful in their lives." In other words, those who enlist are paid handsomely for their service. So why do you insist that others honor their service as well? Neither Russia nor China threatens me or my family, certainly not Serbia, Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Libya, Syria, Yemen, the Donbass or Crimea, so I didn't ask your son to enlist. I owe him nothing. He made a deal that should be honored, nothing more. I hope he didn't kill someone and doesn't suffer PTSD as a result, but if he did, I care more about the person he killed than I do for your son.

You want to disrespect my child if he killed someone else in the service of his country and yet honor the one who is killed you are a real piece of work lady! I say that you are a coward and you wouldn't stand to fight if our country was attacked but you would be expecting the military to protect you absolute hypocrisy at its finest

I did not disrespect your child. I simply said I care MORE for the victims of our country's aggression than for the instruments of that aggression. Caring more about A than B does not imply callousness or indifference toward B. In fact, I wished well for your child by hoping he doesn't suffer PTSD.

Please consider anger management therapy, poor dear!

You can say those statements with no knowledge of what our men and women in uniform have sacrificed for you to have the right to speak freely. Am I angry hell yes I am I love my country and I will stand and fight for our country. If the United States of America were to be attacked by any of the countries that you don't have a problem with you sure would want the military then, I just cannot stand by and allow anyone to say this about my country and those who enlist willingly to fight for ungrateful people like this

Perhaps you can enlighten me as to the purpose that our country maintains a military that is other than to protect our nation from attack and safeguard the citizenries freedoms, rights and liberties. If there is any other reason please privilege me with it. With the aforementioned in mind, explain to me how a single military invasion of the past 70 years protected our country from attack or safeguarded the citizenries freedoms, rights and liberties. The United States armed forces have devolved into that which our armed forces were formed to protect us from.

The United States Constitution is the unequivocal sacrosanct law of the land. The Supremacy Clause of the constitution stipulates that treaties are as sacrosanct as the constitution itself. The USA is a signitor of The Hague Convention on land warfare which unambiguously declares any war of aggression a war crime.

Every armed forces service member, from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to the lowliest enlistee, has sworn an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.

Every armed forces service member, from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to the lowliest enlistee, is beholden to the provisions of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. A pivotal provision of the UCMJ is that, not only is any and every service member permitted to ignore an illegal order, but are obligated to do so.

Participation or support thereof of any of America's Wars of Aggression of the past 70 years makes every single service member and veteran a traitor to their oath of service, in violation of the UCMJ and a war criminal.

It is over half a century past time that we stop pretending that these oath breakers and war criminals are anything other than what they truly are.
