You (and some others) underestimate the impact of the Iran war on US. In fact, I fear the global South is likely to be more harmed by the Iran war than the U.S. (economically). Yes, no one can predict the timing, which is why my 2029 prediction is slightly mischievous. But the US as a federal entity will end when the dollar loses its status as reserve, trading and safe-haven currency.

As much as I hate the US, I have no confidence in your prediction of "the US won't exist in 2029". The Vietnam war was much worse (with 50,000+ Americans dying) and still the U.S. was ok after losing that war (and this was during the Cold War era).
You (and some others) underestimate the impact of the Iran war on US. In fact, I fear the global South is likely to be more harmed by the Iran war than the U.S. (economically). The U.S. is somewhat more insulated than Western Asia and the Global South. Sure, Trump might lose the midterm elections, he might even get impeached, and the Republicans might even lose 2028, but the U.S. is likely to go on (unfortunately).
Mid 70s America post-Vietnam was a much different place than 2026. Healthcare premiums were low and are now a big expense (not to mention deductions, copays, Rxs, etc), manufacturing hadn’t been gutted and shipped overseas, student loans weren’t predatory and this just to name a few important differences. Now life for all but the top 10% has become more difficult with inflation and 60% of the population live paycheck to paycheck. I’m sure you understand debt ratios and overall financial instruments better than I do but I’m looking at the practical impacts the 2008 crash, NAFTA and the complete monetization of the healthcare system.
I pray to God, that you are right. Both america and israel need to disintegrate as fast as possible. Drumpf needs to be removed from the Whitehorse before he has erected it as his fortress. I read somewhere statistically there are probably thousands of dead soldiers and many thousands more wounded ones since there were about 40,000 to 50,000 troops stationed in those bases around the Gulf region when this horror began. Add in sailors on the USS Gerald Ford and the USS Lincoln who could have been harmed/killed in "laundry fires" and we're definitely talking four to five digit losses of troops. But when will an indie investigative reporter break open this story? That remains to be seen.

I am not convinced that Trump, who imagines himself to be the ultimate transactionalist was planning on invading Iran, because he’s always been more concerned about how he looks than what he does. He has lost some brain cells since 2020, and he always used to measure his time in office as a competition with his predecessors. Now, I think he’s in a hell that his 2020 version would do anything to avoid. His state of mind is impossible to gauge, but he appears unable to change his program at this point.
It’s incredible to me, that he hasn’t been removed from office, or erased à la deep state, because the people profiting from his decisions don’t extend far beyond his family, and he is clearly hastening the decline of the state.
But I try to be positive, so perhaps the world can see him and know that this cannot endure. The country is quiet still, but the ship has been taking on water and there is going to be a tectonic shift that will make today feel like a lifetime ago.

The U.S. has always wanted a war on Iran (since the Irananian revolution of 1979), and Bibi has always wanted war on Iran (since 1996), but all previous administrations have been able to 'exert a certain amount of control over their wants', including the first Trump administration.
WANTING to go to war and ACTUALLY GOING to war are two very different things. Even now, Trump realizes he was suckered into war by Israel, but he is trapped in a situation of his own making. He attempted to extricate himself from this war partially (by signing the MOU as the start of such a process), but his 'emotional instability' and narcissism got the better of him (as it always does).
As much as I hate Trump (and I likely hate Trump orders of magnitude more than you), all indications point to him wanting to 'end the war on Iran' but unable to do so (again for many reasons - but this would be an article in itself).
