I studied Islam for 11 years a few decades ago. I was exposed to different sects and persuasions, and just like any other religion, there are religious scholars and a bunch of dogma and even more debate over the what, when, where, why and how. The US should pass a law taking away their dual citizenship. Under US immigration law, no one is allowed to be recognized as a "dual citizen" except for one other country.... You are an American by birth or naturalization, but as soon as you serve in another country's armed forces... You cease to be an American. According the US government if they've never voted in another country's election and sworn allegiance to another flag, they are still American. Now, if they have, they actually have lost their status. (I worked in immigration law so I did learn this in class.) I don't know the rules in Canada, so they might allow dual citizenship. A Canadian that naturalizes to become American might be able to still vote in Canada and serve in their military, but the US is a "jealous country" and there are a few others that also do not recognize more than one citizenship at a time. (If you are American and voting in Canada, just keep it quiet and don't let anyone in the US know.)

I studied Islam for 11 years a few decades ago. I was exposed to different sects and persuasions, and just like any other religion, there are religious scholars and a bunch of dogma and even more debate over the what, when, where, why and how. From my experience, the Muslims who focus on "End Time Prophecy" are more fringe and radical. They do believe that Isa (Yeshua, Jesus) will come through the line of Abraham and so you will find certain leaders of certain Islamic Sects claiming to have the genealogy or being a direct descendant of Abraham. (LOL, since the world was supposedly wiped clean of all life after the flood, it's curious that they would go back to Abraham or any biblical character before Noah, but I digress).

I would suggest part of it is the tendency we humans have of overlooking things when they are relatively small, without considering the consequences that can come if it is allowed to come to fruition. According the US government if they've never voted in another country's election and sworn allegiance to another flag, they are still American. Now, if they have, they actually have lost their status. (I worked in immigration law so I did learn this in class.) I don't know the rules in Canada, so they might allow dual citizenship. A Canadian that naturalizes to become American might be able to still vote in Canada and serve in their military, but the US is a "jealous country" and there are a few others that also do not recognize more than one citizenship at a time. (If you are American and voting in Canada, just keep it quiet and don't let anyone in the US know.)
