I don't know as they all love what is being done to immigrants. A lot of these people love it until ICE comes to their neighborhood and snatches away the mom of the kid their kid plays with, or the nice guy who runs the corner store. I remember reading a few years ago about the difference in moral feeling by left versus right. We on the left have a simple moral code: hurting others is bad, helping others is good. Rightwing people also have that, but they also have a penchant for "purity"--whatever that means--and loyalty. So going against Trump after being a MAGA acolyte for years feels morally wrong--they therefore continue to support him and his team but increasingly through gritted teeth. I picture a scenario where a MAGA couple go to vote, and in the privacy of the voting booth, the wife takes a deep breath and--votes for the Democrat, because this is all just too painful. Her husband does the same thing. That night watching the returns and seeing that the Democrat won by a surprising margin, they cluck their tongues and agree with each other that it's terrible. But this is not going to save us--if the Republicans can't be assured of retaining at least one House, Trump will declare a State of Emergency and cancel the election. Besides, electing the Democrat just means pulling back on the trajectory for awhile--the Democrats exist to prevent movement back to the left.
US Americans will never be able to come together. They are a product of extreme capitalism. They will put the individual over the group, every time. They think the world is like the movies, where a hero is going to save the day. Every thing in society has made people believe in the individual. I don't know as they all love what is being done to immigrants. A lot of these people love it until ICE comes to their neighborhood and snatches away the mom of the kid their kid plays with, or the nice guy who runs the corner store. I remember reading a few years ago about the difference in moral feeling by left versus right. We on the left have a simple moral code: hurting others is bad, helping others is good. Rightwing people also have that, but they also have a penchant for "purity"--whatever that means--and loyalty. So going against Trump after being a MAGA acolyte for years feels morally wrong--they therefore continue to support him and his team but increasingly through gritted teeth. I picture a scenario where a MAGA couple go to vote, and in the privacy of the voting booth, the wife takes a deep breath and--votes for the Democrat, because this is all just too painful. Her husband does the same thing. That night watching the returns and seeing that the Democrat won by a surprising margin, they cluck their tongues and agree with each other that it's terrible. But this is not going to save us--if the Republicans can't be assured of retaining at least one House, Trump will declare a State of Emergency and cancel the election. Besides, electing the Democrat just means pulling back on the trajectory for awhile--the Democrats exist to prevent movement back to the left.

US Americans will never be able to come together. They are a product of extreme capitalism. They will put the individual over the group, every time. They think the world is like the movies, where a hero is going to save the day. Every thing in society has made people believe in the individual. The average American lives in the same moral plane as the average Israeli. I laugh when people say the government doesn’t represent the people, because it most certainly does.

Been saying the same for so long only to have the do-nothing brigade jump in against it. Feels too convenient that so many are ready to put down anyone who points out that together we can, and have done, make changes happen. Look at coal miners who changed work conditions, then hours, women getting the vote didn't happen from the kindness of some politician but from women fighting for it and suffering to get it.

regular civilians must convince their military and police family members to quit and from home protect family, friends and neighbors against tyranny. we must have a global strike. nobody do the bidding of the corporations, nobody earn them a dime. it may be hard for a while, but when they have no income, concessions will be made. nobody go to work, we could shut down every form of ther earning. global strike. protesting and violence not even needed, all they care about is the power of money. just don't report to work and organize locally to survive. when it comes to brass tacks we all have much more in common than not. if we see that and support each other with the compassion the system doesn't provide, things will change.
People in the US cant survive without the government. What happens when they cut off the food supply, electricity, etc? The people will be back at work within a few days. The powers that be have control over the things people need to survive and very few people can survive without the grocery store. Strike isn’t going to win out.
i do understand your point, however most people in all industrialized nations will be in the same situation. to have a world wide strike would be a great effort yes, and it would take much sacrifice and people everywhere would need to get serious about organizing locally to help each other survive. and this is what will be required to end elitist global tryanny, which is better than allowing it to simply continue and grow in the oppression of citizens world wide. it will be hard, but it’s hard now with more rights and freedoms being taken daily, with murder growing in the streets of numerous nations, with genocides robbing so many people of the right to exist, it is what must be done. yes it’s not easy, but freedom takes strength.
Strike is a great starting point, but action needs to be taken during that time. Strike alone is not enough.

Too many people are so comfortable and complacent that they aren't focusing on the bigger picture. There won't be any real change until we stand united. Thank you for using your platform and speaking out.
Not so much anymore. Most are so busy and stressed from teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, unemployment, and/or homelessness to mount a resistance against law enforcement. Thuggery by cops is but one problem most face.
Time to organize and gather strength. Consider all and you will see there is little to lose and much to gain.
