I am aware though, of the damage Rupert Murdock has done to journalism in the U.K., Australia, and of course here in the US. I was impressed by how journalist would put political figures like Tony Blair feet to the fire and not relent until they got their questions answered, unlike here in the US, where political figures are given soft ball questions.
I have learned to avoid social circles for the reasons you've stated. Hard to make small talk when we actively fund and support genocide and the latest war on Iran.

I've been shuffling between NPR and Glenn Beck on the FM radio.
