For the sake of the puppy, I hope he never adopts it. For the sake of his wife I reckon if that is what she it, I hope he has a plan to high-tail it out of there. If I was her, I'd have some contingencies in place, and really who reads Vogue these days - empty callous ones superficial and outlived their time? Sort of like Ms. Nancy? Nancy Pelosi - speaker of some house.....planning a trip to Taiwan to show off her newest accommodations? Seriously you all - the wave is on the way. It has been building for a long time and it grows stronger day-by-day.
From what I've heard Zelensky's pretty wife and their children haven't set foot in Ukraine since the war started. She's just the latest prop to deceive the American people into continuing to support this Washington-created war.
He appears to own properties in London, Miami and somewhere in Italy, he'll be fine. He runs the most corrupt country in Europe, I'm quite sure that he's set for life.
Tuscany. € 4.5 million. 400 meters from the beach. Bought in 2015 of course through a company. Originally it was in both their names, but by the time he became president only his wife is listed.
The war is so PR intensive, the propaganda so over the top, precisely because the average frustrated citizen of the West has so little to gain from the war and therefore has to be constantly goaded to stay on-side. At the same time, the managers of the American Empire very much see this as a matter of existential concern for themselves and the furtherance of their Empire.
The history of WWI is most instructive, and the propaganda then was nearly as hysterical and all-pervasive (not to mention, much of it entirely false). After that war, Lord Ponsonby wrote down The Ten Commandments of War Propaganda.
Read carefully, for the propagandists and their cheerleaders illustrate every last one of them:
1. We don't want war, we are only defending ourselves!
2. Our adversary is solely responsible for this war!
3. Our adversary's leader is inherently evil and resembles the devil
4. We are defending a noble cause, not our particular interests!
5. The enemy is purposefully committing atrocities; if we are making mistakes this happens without intention
6. The enemy makes use of illegal weapons
7. We suffer few losses, the enemy's losses are considerable
8. Recognized intellectuals and artists support our cause
9. Our cause is sacred
10. Whoever casts doubt on our propaganda helps the enemy and is a traitor
I'm re-reading John Toland's "Adolf Hitler" presently who often is painted as this caricature figure somehow detached from reality. Actually, he was very much the integral part of the time and learned, mastered, and applied all the tricks super-efficiently. He was diligent with his homework. No wonder he's idolized by many and will be forever.
The algorithms monitoring my access to information on the Internet keep restricting what I see more and more all the time. It's difficult to find any followup on news stories. What I wouldn't give to have the kind of access that we had back in the nineties to all kinds of information. When it started out, it was magical. Now the totalitarians are clamping down on access to real news, and it's difficult to get by what passes as news that is spun from lies and deception. You are right about the PR spin. The Russians are not deceived, though, about who their real enemy is, and it's not Zelensky, the actor who is basking in the attention being given him in this war.
I want to hear the speeches leaders give from other countries...Putin's have been on point IMO. Many American journalists have turned to RT over the years where they have been allowed to speak uncensored. So as with any news source, I would rather use my critical thinking skills to discern what is truth ( as far as we can know) and what is propaganda. RT allows the sharing of ideas which is gone on any MSM platform here in the US....
History has been propogandized. Those texts I studied throughout my public school education dealing with the "explorers" and their motives, or "Manifest Destiny" for example. An intriguing counter narrative was penned by Howard Zinn with, "A People's History of the US". I daresay this book would be censored in the US today.
I'm a recent reader of your work. For the last hour, I chased the links in the paragraph beginning "Since Russia invaded". And then the links in them.
That's an incredible body of work! Thank you! I particularly liked the piece on experts' prior warnings on NATO expansion. One of the imperial spinmeisters whose tweet you included, Mr. McFaul, is a disgusting liar. Based on the obvious falsehood of his tweet, I just assumed he was just a right wing rube. But he was Obama's Ambassador to Russia and he's now at Stanford! What a scumbag!
Zelensky always capitalized on his acting career - that's what it takes these days. He just thought he was better at it, and smarter. So good at his trade and so smart that he could pass cowardice off as bravery, the impossible as viable, and gross injustice as fair and acceptable. He had a chance to implement Minsk I and II, and was elected to do just that. But he went for personal safety and big bucks - which usually brings safety. But looming starvation, severe austerity, economic disaster as the menu for the peripheral, shadow actors is unacceptable, and can't be pretended away as easily as war, death and destruction usually are. He acted himself into a corner. He's no longer safe, so, like a coward, he's pushing the family man/values button. But that movie is passe, it's downright boring these days, even if you don't remember the guy's a brutal killer.
I don't know about "coward" -- it's a relative term. Most of us can be scared by _something_. My guess is that Mr. Z originally thought running for president was a goof or publicity stunt, but then he won. The next thing that would happen would be some Serious People would show up -- _very_ serious people -- to let him know that if he wanted to go on breathing he should be prepared to go along with certain things he might otherwise find objectionable or unaesthetic. His ostensible positions in the previous electoral campaign would be written off as humor. Is he a faker? Of course; that's his profession. And now, as the cover of Vogue, he has reached the summit of fakery. Not a bad run if he can escape in one piece.
Thank you for your very forthright, intellectually sensible & very educational response..
Agree with you 100%
He's in a Catch 22 position,if he tries to escape from the Azov Mob, whom he is a hostage of(in my opinion)they will do the job on him & if he does manage to find asylum,he will be a victim of the Bounty on his head....
What's next? Zelenskyy shirtless and bareback riding a horse? I wouldn't be surprised. That would really stick in Putin's craw and probably give him a boner too.
Any time humans make a gratuitously emotional pitch, they are trying to distract you or put one over on you.
I am waiting for that little twerp to adopt a puppy, and in a very public manner.
"Or a war orphan - preferably blonde with blue eyes." - T. Remington

Yes...its amazing the ridiculousness, of those in Political positions of power these days..

... our cause is sacred, just as is the secrecy of our off-shore bank accounts.

My how you goose step with the best of them. At least you're honest about who and what you are.
It is not what he said. Your reading, comprehension skills are lacking.
The troll does it on purpose.
Oops, just saw it banned - long overdue.
Wonder why only now, or did Caity's patience finally run out?
The AI you use to produce brain farts needs tweaking. It got too obvious.
there you go again showing your kosher colors...are you based in Israel?
Zelenskys team of thugs/criminals/rapists, the Azov Regime & the Ukranian Foreign Legion of Mercenaries, Book of instructions....

Actor and probably newly minted billionaire...
Not much fun,if your life is on the line every second of the day...
No doubt there's a gun to his head & family.
RT is the only place you are going to find the truth.
RT is russian owned. Instead of NATO propaganda you’re getting russian propaganda. Same shit different toilet.

Fair enough but it’s important to keep in mind that it’s just as much propaganda as western MSM.

Yep, of course we want Zoolander’s take on this! And the ever present Pro, Bonobo. What a farce.

From day one, I could see the Coward in him..Am surprised so many have been fooled by his charade...

Caitlin, no one can state the obvious like you. And the obvious is the most notoriously difficult thing to see.
Only one person pointed out that The Emperor was buck naked. And that was a little kid.
Nailed it again, Caitlin.
Vogue??? WTF??? Vogue??? Is this conflict now a fashion issue???
These people have quite clearly gone MAD???
Shouldn't they at least be wearing Hugo Boss fashions since Hugo Boss did design the Nazi's uniforms in WWII??
But IDK Maybe they are wearing Boss.
I'm looking forward to the Robert Kagan Victoria Nuland edition of Hello!
p.s. The exclamation point is in Hello! magazine's name, not my tone.
Young soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are dying in droves, and a Nazi criminal with his prostitute is taking pictures for a magazine
War?
What war?
Where?
Lira, is that you? The prostitute comment is so you.
Great article & commentary.
Agree with you 100%.
Have never seen such a one way Propoganda War,being won,by what will be the eventual loser...
American voters have their heads packed so far up their collective ass it's depressing. Just keep supporting the Uniparty.
The Onion will out of a job if they keep up this self-parody.... and the brainwashed sheep lap this shit up while bleating: "FREEDOM!!!"
soulless maggots do what soulless maggots are.
