Were Trump to be completely honest with every hyper-militaristic idiot in America, he'd tell them that their pentagon/defense dept. with a trillion dollar annual budget has nonetheless fallen behind Russia in weapons development (the Oreshnik hypersonic missile system), to the extent that America’s no longer even number one in that arena — while failing every pentagon audit. Talk about pissing away the lifeblood of its citizens by the mediocrities who manage the empire.
Mediocrities who should cower like stalked chipmunks in deference to the technological and cultural superiority of the Russian bear. But there’s no awakening the shoot-‘em-up cowboys in the US military upper echelons who continue to behave as though they rule the world.
It is time for Americans to face the fact that there is no such thing as a decent human being in American politics. The blob owns all. They have seen to it that any honest decent person aspiring to enter politics is quickly crushed.
No such thing as a decent human being in the duopoly (Ds & Rs) of American politics, in anyone who takes massive sums of money from AIPAC, the MIC, Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Ag, etc... Take away the money from American politics (https://movetoamend.org) and we might just see some halfway decent folks running for office. This is just my opinion, and your mileage may vary!
While I truly understand finding tRump repugnant, we also need to understand that the "kindler, gentler" face of President Biden and the Democratic establisment lead to the EXACT SAME OUTCOMES.
We can't expect change when the only available alternative is barely a foot to the left on the playing field. It's the same positions, only with a different team. I've called my Democratic Rep and DNC and the DSCC and the DCCC requesting 1) a living minimum wage for 18+ year old individuals 2) affordable single-payer healthcare 3) ending deficit spending for Israeli weapons 4) No nuclear war spending for Ukraine. Yet was demeaned by the staff and ignored.
I donated to the Sanders campaign until I found that the money was going to the DNC. So, I've been edging away from the Republican-like Democratic party for nearly a decade. The corporate and professional management direction they have taken is repugnant to actually representing the voters that I KNOW.
Suggest action items please. We all know and see the problems already. Phone calls and likes aren't going anywhere.
Just left you a reply which got trashed somehow. I referred you to Workers Strike Back movement of Kshama Sawant (and Chris Hedges). https://www.workersstrikeback.org/
Don't waste your time with duopoly politicians: they're all bought off by some special interest.
My nephew told me that his co-workers rail against socialism and so I instructed him to trot out the words "Social Security". It seems to silence the negative propaganda - especially among those who are nearing retirement. It's kind of like how my relatives get more "religious" as they get closer to death; I jokingly call it "Everlasting Security" and try to live in the "now" as I believe that heaven is within.
Why can't everyone see the light? What is it that prevents them... distraction, ego, FEAR?
Sidenote: Just as our government has a veto and the filibuster, what if we had an Amendment to the Constitution that made all American non-domestic spending be first contingent upon a balanced budget? Deficit spending on foreign entities would be limited to our economic realities and immune to the inflationary pressures of lender interest? We could focus (and borrow) to build our own nation - increase our education - build our infrastructure - supporting our nation before sending it overseas. This would be a true America First amendment that could easily attract Republican and Democratic voters. Let me know your thoughts.
Fear's a big one. But I think it's brainwashing-based fear, as Caitlin is often prone to tell us. Just think about all the ways your nephew et al. were told that our Capitalist system is superior to all else. That worked on me when I was a kid and teenager, but I'm old. And way back then, there might have been evidence for its reality -- when my one-job dad could support a middle-class existence (and we were all ignoring the devastation to the biosphere). But that was long ago, and if the younger folks would just even pay attention to the progression of this country's economy since Vietnam (i.e., beginnning of the era of lost imperialist wars), they might see how those wars enriched a small class of profiteers (euphemistically called investors), began what we see now as grotesque economic inequality, which globalization put the cherry on (thanks Bill Clinton et al.), where a family finds it hard to survive on one breadwinner job, much less sit solidly in the middle class. Yeah it's fear. But to ignore this historical progression implies extreme brainwashing about Capitalism good/ socialism evil.
I like your contingency idea just fine, now how do we get it past the giant crowd of folks profiting from war?
We have an independent media today - unlike the past. We'd be required to keep everything hush hush (top down with an Elon-type individual) , strike fast and work it smart. For example, providing our own "establishment" responses BEFORE they do - kind of like how the wealthy astroturf websites today. The state's voting schedule would need to be organized within a tight time frame (delay killed the ERA). IT would take a shock and awe panzer-type process. Similar to what rushed us into Iraq, Vietnam, etc.... I have to look back to the American Revolution - it was born and carried out in the darkness - in secret. If it had been openly debated among the public - it would have died on the vine. Just an idea. Let's find a billionaire who gives a shit about ALL our future.
I am a regular reader of your work. I have a question - how do you create the videos with just audio and photo.?.I would like to do the same in my native language (after I translate your work) by I have not figured out yet a way to do it. Thank you!
Why are you selling your hard copies on Amazon? Will you please not use Amazon? They are on the boycott list. Thank you for your kind response and attentiveness 💝
It's an ongoing Marx Bros routine. Bald face lying requires bold media world class, bald faced liars. exxon will never stop. Anyone with a working cel phone is witnessing the ongoing genocide by Israel in Gaza. These are civilians. Women, children, babies, and the elderly being slaughtered in dying color.
Another "beautiful" cover, not so much in its "content" (Trump's ugly mug) but in its artistic flair. Truly, Trump is the perfect cover model for the current corrupt and evil US system of governance. There's no hypocrisy to be found in an entirely open bigot and loose cannon such as the Orange Man. Thanks again, Caitlin, for your insights both literary and artistic!

Yep. So is hell - Hell is what the human ego is capable of making of the present moment.

you deserve credit for illustrating this context so well
now the question is whether it was all for show;
i.e., Trump was trolling the Dems/elites all along
or just trying to crudely outdo them by more direct action
Some - the timid - say that we're taking an awful chance by finding out.
(e.g., the pretty=-ace people who prefer opera to the WWF, while genociding on the side)
Others - the fed up - say that a fork in the road is so long overdue that it may yet be too late.
(e.g., the blunt people who prefer WWF to the opera, while having more morals when it counts)
Either way, the people have spoken. We're finally gonna find out.
And if this step isn't bold enough, I wager an even bolder step will follow.
Another Peasant Rebellion has started. No pretentious laws or niceties can withstand the will of the people.

I don't think I will bother ordering your rag... it will be full of counter-productive woke nonsense..
