This newsletter never fails to make me feel seen and heard. I hope you know that you are helping young people like myself (f22) understand our anger, fear, social anxiety, and more. Thank you so much for continuing to fight the psychological destruction that this society encourages to do the necessary work for its restructuring. I hope to be able to contribute to this mission in the future! 🫶🏼

Bradey- your hope to be able to contribute *does* contribute! Your generation is blazing with power and courage, showing the entire world something they’ve never seen.

“showing the entire world something they’ve never seen”.

Not true.

Please review the anti war and anti establishment protests of the 1960’s-early 1970,s along with Malcom X’s position on Israel’s theft and colonization of Palestinian land at that time.

Thank you for the historical context, August; it’s much appreciated. While we largely face the same challenges as the 19th and 20th century and often resist them through familiar methods like street protests, social media and AI now offer new opportunities to amplify and scale resistance efforts. Forest’s viewpoint highlights how Gen Z effectively uses these technologies to create unprecedented platforms for ideological resistance. Just a few decades ago it would be nearly impossible for a young, working-class woman like myself to have the platform to articulate progressive ideas to thousands. This very conversation on Substack illustrates this transformative shift. I appreciate both your and Forest’s insights. 🇵🇸🤍

That’s a good point. I’m a literal product of those earlier protests since my parents were members of SDS and the Digger movement. That generation was also something the world had never seen.

Bradey’s generation is confronting a unique set of problems with a unique energy. Norm Finkelstein, who witnessed both movement eras, has commented about this. As an example, several high schools in my area have formed radical student leagues that are extremely active at events and in their schools- these students are 16 and 17 years old, articulating revolutionary Marxist-Leninist ideas and confronting everything and everyone in their way. It is awesome and inspiring to witness! If anyone is interested, theres a link in my timeline to a letter I wrote to our local weekly paper, with a video of one of these students confronting our congressman Adam Smith at a town hall event.

Wow - if Finkelstein IS controlled opposition, I would have yet another in a series of avatars to not trust. For now, I remain an admirer and learner from Professor Finkelstein. He's paid a public price for speaking Truth to Power and it has not crushed him. On a prior note, please know Dear and Treasured Eyes-Wide-Open principled youth that not all Boomers are set against you. We may not get the headlines, but not all of us are wealthy at your expense - not wealthy in dollar terms at all. And we support you. We are not fooled by the faux democracy wielded by the Imperialist reality. The corporate rulers who did learn from the 60's while the movement wore out. We are on your page, but lacking the vim and vigor of the 60's when we were the youth. But, still, we remain with you. A drag on internet competency perhaps, but with you nonetheless.

To Ela, who thinks Finkelstein controlled opposition. Any time a person has lost job, status, friends, etc. and has a degree, but not only those with degrees, I would suggest you run, not walk to hear him and why he "lost." That is the kind of person the USA needs desparately, and precisely why he should be followed and trusted. Those who have lost nothing are not to be trusted. Some of us call those who've lost and the journalists who had to start their own media outlets, INTEGRITY MEDIA, because people with integrity want to know and want to follow what can be discerned as truth, supported by the facts uncovered. You got to kinda be like a vole, a little critter that travels underground, but can destroy the entire plant by eating away at the root. Stealthy like the CIA, like MOSSAD, like the International Crime Syndicate that politicians, US government, CIA, and MOSSAD, corporations like Pfizer work with. We are not safe on this planet with those entities remaining in charge. So entrenched is the population of criminals, they want to make corruption legal. Because it is by corruption our government and many others are run.

Yes to everything, but "blazing with power". That has yet to be achieved. As far as I can understand, power will not be shared in this Country or with the Ruling Elite of the world. I wish I knew how 'we the people' can get power.

You know it was never given in the Constitution. It was declared in the Declaration of Independence, but when it came to the White Wealthy Ruling Class writing the Constitution they renegaded. They gave us a Republic with them in charge, republic type government structures are the most corruptable compared to any other governing structure. I'm absolutely sure they knew this, since they studied many other governing structures and most of them detested the idea of Democracy. They felt that only the Wealthy could rule and should rule, they have money and they think, like the masses today.

It's foolish to believe that generational wealth means 'smart people' will rule. ONLY in a Kakocracy can that be believed (have we not been told of all the Diplomas that were bought? That Trump and his whole family bought theirs?) and that's what we have been living in since the 1600s and before.

Expand full comment

You mistake power for rule. What rules your heart is what makes you strong and gives you power. The poorest people in the world have more power in how they don't turn to crime or taking from another for their "perceived" needs to survive. The Palestinians are "blazing with power." They are setting our entire world on fire with questions like: Are the masses of the world to be ruled by the minority? Are the masses of the world too ignorant to understand they stand in line with a ticket in their hand, and when their number comes up, will that be the only time they realize they are Palestinian too? Should we ask ourselves what we "need" and compare it to what we "want?"

If you have a fire in your heart for the best of humanity, look no further than Palestine and Palestinians. Their struggle is our struggle, is the entire world's struggle. Journalists need to start spelling it out for those of us who think but never learned to write, and those of us who learned to write, but never learned to think.

It is easy to see why the well educated wealthy think the way they do: they know how poorly educated and misled are the masses, and are quite convinced none of the masses will ever self educate, since the elite's intent is to limit or erase true history and any knowledge that would teach us how smart we are, us deplorables, and better we are than the elites, had we a head for autodidactcism.

Expand full comment

You are right. There is hope. I don't believe for a second that the Wealthy are more intelligent than the masses. In fact I believe they have fallen victim to their own machinations, that they in fact are stupid and mentally ill in all sorts of ways and it's demonstrated everyday.

Yes, the Palastinians have shown us that their struggle is our struggle, the world masses' struggle and there's hope and strength in them and us. We can't believe what the Ruling class tell us about our selves. We have to believe in us and our wisdom and choice of actions to take the reigns of our society into our control. I believe we will treat each other equatably when we gain control our lives and resources.

Expand full comment

"we will treat each other equitably when we gain control our lives and resources." I am with you on that, but which countries, of the leading BRICS has allowed that in their history? Should we disallow history or should we disallow those who cannot shake off the shackles of history? Do you really think the "we" you speak of can gain control of their own lives when, like in the USA, they've been so dumbed down as to not even know they've been dumbed down by their public schools who failed to teach a thorough and more truthful history than what public schools are allowed to teach, and what private schools can with leanings towards yet more of an economic creed that sucks the blood and resources of nations and keeps the people of those nations impoverished.

All we have done is encourage others to have nuclear weapons. With everyone having nuclear weapons, how might that increase the chances of total destruction of life on the planet, given what we think our arguments are for waging stupid fucking wars in the first place? Replies welcome.

From my perspective, the whole game they are playing with nuclear threats is unbelievably stupid. When I was about 20 I studied radiation physics and I learned that there is no safe level of radiation. It is cumulative and does not disappear for thousands of years. The people running things these days seem to have no idea what radiation is. So they threaten well, what? to annihilate themselves along with the rest of us? They will be just as vulnerable once they emerge from their bunkers to a completely radiated world, water, air, plants, animals. They probably think we are safe from the fukishima and chernobyl radiation by now.

It's not just those freaking out about the future, but also those believing they can alter it by working within present structures. I have loving, highly educated friends whose children are smart, talented in diverse arenas, creative, artistic etc. Yet these crucial citizens of the future often wish to intern in DC, investing their brilliance into a current US socio-political-economic system that's as corrupt as it is useless to most of its people and destructive to the planet and the remainder of world citizenry. A disheartening commentary on the fact that education and the ability to think critically are still swamped for both parent and child by the tsunami of brainwashing that produces this mass psychosis about which you write so elegantly.

The vast majority of the herd are so programmed and softened in the spine and mind that they will never snap out of their death dream trance. Truth is, they actually prefer slavery. Further, as long as these robotized, untermenschen have enough to eat, a roof over their empty heads, and Talmudvision (TV) along with their I (idiot) - phones to sate their digital addictions, they will never revolt against their master and his whip. It often works like that in revolutions. The troops get an order like this and they go over to the revolution instead. Russia, France, East Germany, Iran, Everyone is fed up with the incompetent and exploitative government and the whole thing is kept running only by fear of individual punishment. Often the food supply system has broken down, resulting in near-total rebellion.

The current USA is quite similar to the 1980's USSR with its total eclipse of truth and doddering leadership. No one I know of anticipated 1989-1991. The USSR had been stumbling along for so long it seemed like it would be forever.

The USA has lost popular support. The system is unstable and all energy is going toward further destabilization. There has already been a serious coup attempt. But it still has a strong food supply system and functioning economy. If those go then the whole thing goes. Or something like resurrecting the draft to feed the wars might cause widespread rebellion.

A minority can rule indefinitely if they have the support of the soldiers and police. We see this in South America.

And I feel no qualms to advocate

The Flynn prosecution was in 2020 and completely outrageous, a 100% phony political prosecution.

completely agree. This lawfare is profoundly wrong. No matter who it is directed at. I despise the left and everything they want and are doing, I am against lawfare against them as well. Made me laugh to myself a little there. This attitude of fairness isn't shared by the left.

note. I actually meant to say watergate instead of pentagon papers. the left wanted Nixon gone and watergate was the opportunity. The point is that what the left did to Trump was far worse than what they did to Nixon. People went to jail over watergate. No one went to jail or had any kind of consequences over the multi year, multi effort to take Trump down.
