Anyone who thought Trump was anti-war or anti-Imperialist has shit for brains. All US presidents serve the empire. Nothing shocking at all here. The empire will now go full fascist domestically to match its foreign policy of economic & military warfare.

It would be nice if they did go "full fascist". The employment standards in the US would dramatically increase and there would be a universal health care system.

It all fits in with the rest of the world. A bunch of racist, violent thugs in Amsterdam are the victims of antisemitism, Trump will end all wars, Immigrants are the cause of all the problems everywhere, there is no climate crisis, oil companies need our support, fracking is a great idea, women cannot be allowed to control their own bodies. Pretty soon cigarettes will be on every airplane, in every movie theatre and those poor cigarette executives will be able to fatten up their already fat bank accounts. The world according to Trump and friends.

Expand full comment

I'm with you on all that except climate change. The name needs to change to pollution. Climate always changes, it's pollution that is the problem.

Expand full comment

Pollution is only an aspect of Climate Change - which is the REAL issue. The solutions to address both are quite different - but it begins with Capitalism, over-production, consumerism, inefficiences due to the profit motive, etc.

Expand full comment

You need to study climate on earth over geological time. You'll learn very, very quickly that natural changes in climate (i.e. before many humans were around) have been far, far bigger than the mild 1.5C warming since the end of the Little Ice Age (which was a very good thing indeed as we grow more food, fewer people die of cold etc). Higher carbon dioxide levels are great for 'greening the earth', not to mention the fact that the dominant greenhouse gas in the atmosphere is water vapour.

There is absolutely nothing abnormal about current climate, it's just a bit warmer than 200 years ago and a jolly good thing too.

Warm periods 5000 years ago, 3000 years ago and 1000 years ago were warmer than today.

People need to stop being so hysterical on the internet about natural weather events. They've been happening for thousands of years. They just weren't reported like they are now, even though far, far, more people died in some of them.

Expand full comment

We’re going to drown in our garbage, plastic crap (including that in our blood stream and women’s breast milk) and polluted water. Fracking requires tens of thousands of gallons of fresh water that is then polluted with thousands of chemicals used to crack.

Expand full comment

"You'll learn very, very quickly that natural changes in climate"

This is a common retort to the climate crisis. It fails to acknowledge the overwhelming majority of scientists who have studied the ongoing change would of course have considered first: whether climate change is a "natural" change or not. It's astonishing to me the level of obstinancy and arrogance of people who are unwilling to examine the data and who insist their TRIBE of political correctness must be correct while they deliberately ignore proveable facts. This is the same type of political correctness bullshit Liberals pushed in the last few years, say with Russia Gate.

For example, the overwhelming consensus (outside of crackpots) of climate change scientists - and they have known for DECADES, that the RATE OF CLIMATE CHANGE in the world is FASTER than it HAS EVER BEEN. They know this because they've gone to the North Pole and measured the RATE OF CLIMATE CHANGE of the different climate epochs on earth, and therefore know FACTUALLY that the climate change we are experiencing now is not natural, but is obviously caused by human exploitation and unchecked and unholy corporate greed. That is to say, letting the billionaires do whatever the fuck they want, to whomever and whatever they want, is destroying the fucking earth.

Thank you.

Some truth there except our current warming is primarily driven by fossil fuel industrialism which is causing various tipping points to occur which combined will be catastrophic. Carbon is not the only factor, deforestation, top soil erosion, etc. Carbon is fetishized because it can be monetized, eg, carbon credits, which will further enrich corporations.

Expand full comment

then use accurate language. Pollution is a part of the climate crisis, it is what is driving the climate crisis, it could be reduced. The real issue is that our politicians and their corporate friends don't want to pay attention to it because it would cost them too much money. The climate crisis is our forests burning down, people dying in unprecedented flooding, the oceans are dying, fresh water is becoming more scarce. All this is a product of pollution and money grubbing. It is a climate crisis.

Expand full comment

Pollution is driving UNPRECEDENTED climate change 🤡

Expand full comment

It's not unprecedented. You look at megadroughts in California that lasted a couple of centuries. This summer was just a blip in that comparison. You look at the 1861 Central Valley Floods - the most consistent set of pineapple expresses to hit the Sierra Nevada over an extended period. Nothing in comparison recently. River flooding in China in the late 19th century killed tens to hundreds of thousands of people - absolutely nothing like that happened recently.

I've seen zero change in the ability of plants and trees to grow the past 15 years. Zero. There's no tiny narrow window of rainfall, temperature and wind that lets plants grow you know. If there were, the whole planet would be a barren desert.

Likely, Trump will impose a peace to end all peace. This is the tittle of a seminal book on the remake of the Middle East after WWI, by David Fromkin. In the coming days, there will be MANY MORE Conspiracy Theories by Democrats that are finding it difficult to cope with the "4 years of Trump" thing - and I empathize with them. If you think that Covid19 vaccines are a good thing, you are a medically illiterate dumbass, friend. Very, very highly qualified pharmaceutical heavyweights of over 30 years standing have made it abundantly clear that the 'vaccines' neither protect nor are they safe. And the evidence they provide is rigorous, coherent and specific.

1. It's literally impossible to develop a safe vaccine in under 5 years. Operation Warp Speed was a fraud from start to finish.

2. You never, ever test radically new technologies on pregnant women. It's the biggest no-no in pharmaceuticals.

3. If you use lipid nanoparticles in a 'vaccine', you guarantee that you will deliver your payload to ovaries. That was published science as early as 2012.

4. If you impose global Phase III clinical trials on the whole world, not via a rigorous clinical trial but a 'vaccine mandate', you are in breach of pharmaceutical regulatory law.

Etc etc etc.
