While I can’t wrap my head around all this atrocity, I also can’t wrap my head around why the rest of the world is standing by and watching this happen. I understand we can’t do much on an individual level, but, like Caitlin has said before, Biden could most likely stop this with a phone call - that may be simplistic as I can’t possibly know this for sure, but surely at least a group of governments could stop this. It’s unbelievably atrocious.
From my humanist perspective — avoiding the insubstantial diversion of gods-promising-real-estate — these facts are all strongly suggestive of a culture embroiled in a mass psychosis — a collective loss of moral and ethical constraints. I’m referring to Zionist culture of course, given that indiscriminate murder is surely not part of the moral code of Judaism itself. At the least, ethnologists should study and delineate the factors that result in Mass Cultural

I'll have to agree with you, Caitlin, when you say, "It’s very complicated." It must be because I keep thinking it's rather "simple" and I'm told that isn't what it's all about. Here I think genocide is wrong. Murdering civilians is wrong. Bombing babies in incubators is wrong. Slaughtering mothers and children is wrong. But I keep getting told that those are only "surface issues" and that I'm missing the "bigger picture". What could be bigger and more important in the world today than a genocide is happening in Gaza, and it's morally and ethically wrong and needs to be stopped immediately? I lose a lot of sleep pondering this overly simple question.
If instead of Israeli hostages, the victims had been Palestinian civilians, we would NEVER have heard about this, let alone see it make the headlines, and the IDF and the US mainstream media would have denounced as a crass anti-Semitie anyone who made any claims that the IDF kills people who waive white flags and are shirtless
