I have never read - do you know what it was called? It's so strange you mentioned that as I have been trying to write down my own experience for months and had no idea she had been through the same thing. I am always floored by how many people have been through it.

I remember the piece. Very moving. When you say, "I am always floored by how many people have been through it.", the same goes through my mind when revelations appear from those who have been sexually attacked as a child as I was constantly from the cradle until the age of 17 by my stepfather when, as he chased me round the settee, I showed him my pent-up anger with a tightly clenched fist aimed and ready to punch him all the way into hospital and then to prison.

Population-wise, it is said that it's 1 in 4 who've been attacked as a child. Fortunately my experiences were more of constant molestation than raw heavy duty penetration though he did unsuccessfully try that once telling me to read the 'Beano' child's comic while he attempted. That one extremely painful unlubed move left me with lifelong haemorrhoids. I've faced those abusive demons of the past & survived & moved on. I hope you do too. Life is good.

Abuse of children is so widespread that words fail me on even beginning to describe the effects in the victims. It’s a generational trauma that has led so many down the paths of substance abuse. My family certainly did not escape from it. Even thinking about it right now, as I type, brings back memories and emotions that I’ve tried to bury. Thought I had till right this minute. Even my breathing has changed, and not for the better.

While I can’t wrap my head around all this atrocity, I also can’t wrap my head around why the rest of the world is standing by and watching this happen. I understand we can’t do much on an individual level, but, like Caitlin has said before, Biden could most likely stop this with a phone call - that may be simplistic as I can’t possibly know this for sure, but surely at least a group of governments could stop this. It’s unbelievably atrocious.

I think most of the world does not read Caitlin's articles or Max Blumenthal or anyone who writes about Israel from the perspective of what they are really doing. Regular people just cannot absorb what the IDF is doing. And people like Biden are too interested in what they are getting out of selling all those munitions to give a shit about the atrocities being committed with them so that US interests can stay rich.

I think you are overlooking the power of the Israeli Lobby in America.

But, yes, Biden does seem to be more interested in selling weapons to Israel than curbing their slaughter of Gazans and Palestinians in West Bank.

Hey I thought that republicans were in Putin’s pocket and not Israel’s? Isn’t that what 5 years of Russia Russia Russia taught us? Just kidding. All through the Russia gate nonsense I kept asking people who believed it why they didn’t have a problem with how Israel has bought our government. And that most members of Congress go to Israel every year to swear fealty to it. Especially when I saw shitlibs pointing to the 8 republicans who went to Russia ONCE.

I just don’t understand why people are so surprised at Biden’s callousness. He’s been like this since he arrived in congress. I tried to warn people about his history.

Expand full comment

In the end, it is still Biden or whoever is in the White House who can decide whether or not to allow the Israel Lobby so much influence. In any case, I still think it is the money that is the real influence and the people who have the money will have the influence by default. Those in power can reject that influence if they choose. But they won't choose because they are basically people of the same money grubbing mentality, no matter what their choice of religion.

From my humanist perspective — avoiding the insubstantial diversion of gods-promising-real-estate — these facts are all strongly suggestive of a culture embroiled in a mass psychosis — a collective loss of moral and ethical constraints. I’m referring to Zionist culture of course, given that indiscriminate murder is surely not part of the moral code of Judaism itself. At the least, ethnologists should study and delineate the factors that result in Mass Cultural

Psychosis, simply to learn from Zionist history what's required to precipitate such a deranged course of cultural development.

I'd surmise that it might be more the effect of empathy-less ("unhinged" in your description) ritualistic elders than it is the actual mutilation. I speak from personal experience as a Christian (originally, not since 14 y-o) who was mutilated, but by my family's kind empathic physician, who was duped by the medicine of the era (1950s - primitive stuff) into doing it for supposed medical value -- lowered infections or some such rubbish. Strikes me that the attitude -- psychological energy, if you like --- around such acts are as if not more important than the acts themselves. Perhaps social anthropology needs a study comparing the procedure as carried out by some hard-core Zionist congregations in Israel proper with its parallel in a European country whose Jewish population is of low Zionist content or disposition. They're bad, but let's not go that far. Once the Israelis start moving Palestinians around on cattle cars, putting them in forced labor camps, working them to death, doing weird science experiments on them, putting them in gas chambers, and incinerating their bodies... then they'd be as bad as the Nazis. The seige of Gaza has yet to reach the same human insanity and suffering level the Nazi seige of St Petersburg inflicted, by far.

Israel is definitely trending towards Nazi, but they aren't 'worse' than Nazis, not yet. Are they even worse than what we in the US did to our Native peoples?

It is a pointless academic distinction of course. If you asked the millions of dead civilian Slavs in Soviet Russia vs the thousands and thousands of Palestinians that have been killed by Israel over the years 'which is worse?' The dead don't care which is worse. They would rather have been alive to live their lives in either case.

"Are they even worse than what we in the US did to our Native peoples?"

Not yet. Before the arrival of Europeans in North America, the numbers are pretty vague, but most people who study the subject come up with between five and twenty millions. According to Wikipedia, "The 1900 Census enumerated Indians living in the general population and on reservations. In that year, the American Indian population totaled 237,196." That's quite a body count. The IDF has a long way to go, although one can't deny that they're working on it.
