Exactly correct. We’re sh**ing in our own nest. Those at the very top apparently “think that the human race will inhabit the Moon and other Planets” This is after we have completely destroyed our own planet it is of course a dream !

In the meantime, as we destroy our planet, killing people with arms and bombs all in the name of enriching a few. Corporate Greed has consumed our so called leaders as well. One of the biggest misguided beliefs is that we need “Economic Development”. In actual cast we don’t.

Methinks that this has been the plan all along, done incrementally, so we the frogs wouldn't feel the scalding and jump out.

Thank you!💐

100% correct. It's all been by design.

Time we all got off the Wheel of Corporate greed and got back to enjoying life as it was supposed to be .

I agree! We are so many. One united front and ...........

(but they divide us). 😥

"We’re not living with purpose. We’re not working together to build a better world and a better future..."

So, that's what we gotta do. We gotta work together and build that better world and better future. It would give us all purpose and create the happiness we all yearn for. And any billionaire/capitalist who gets in our way? We gotta work together to make them pay their fair share so all can benefit from their labors and not just the moneyed few. Power to the people!

Elusive1's avatar

Like property taxes, income taxes, vehicle "stickers", and I'm sure there's SO much else

We can hardly breathe anymore. Future plans they divulge are worse

😭

The Revolution Continues's avatar

Better to fight back than allow their plans to evolve. They can't come for all of us who refuse to play their game at the same time, right?

Elusive1's avatar

It sounds simple but ...... idk.

I think they will "offer" ubi/cbdc to those who are hurting now and it's gonna get worse and that'll start it.

Maybe I'll wake up from this nightmare soon.

Elusive1's avatar

Gotta break outta these chains they got us in first. 🤨

Well, yes, but in some tiny corner of the "global south" i exist alíen to that corporate machine in all my strengh. Now retired & reading my books. Now i'm reading the Ashtavakra gita, which is one of the ancient scriptures of Advaita vedanta, after having lunch which my wife prepared with a glass of red wine produced here. No claims at all. I'm very happy.

You two are blessed!

Marcos Reverberi's avatar

Yes, i guess.. I'65, Mónica is 55 ex- teacher, now we are both retired and healthy. Those problems happen in the 'developed world', not here. 💜

Good to hear! 🎉🎉

Here in Amerikka, we have become passive, beaten down. Made physically ill by our prison guards who we waste our lives working for.

Makes me wonder about Musk. I wish I could corner him and ask this one simple question: “Elon you said that you think humanity should have more kids because the population is losing steam.” Yet out of the same breath you claim AI and/or robotic workers will replace the species in the workforce.

“How does one reconcile those two ideas?”

SW's avatar

I just read Starlink is increasing its cost for rural users by $500/yr making it $150/month with no competition in sight.

Three days ago I was on I35 going north out of Dallas and there was a huge, all white semi with no logos OR a driver. This is a very busy, dangerous highway and there was the driverless semi. The future the Elons, Marks, Alexes, Sams, and Peters have mapped out for us is a basic income to buy trash food, cheap housing and awful medical care. And the government that makes it all possible works for them — not us.

Katherine M.'s avatar

Nope, we'll be living in tents in the woods. Housing is not something they have any plans of providing.

Elusive1's avatar

I envision that their plans for us are living in pods in skyscrapers

that go on and on as far as the eye can see. Vertical prisons, ie China

(I couldn't do it, but tents sound rather romantic.)

Luke's avatar

Smiles…. I shall see you there. Fuck pod life ☺️

In China they also have driverless truck technology - but they have built separate lanes for these trucks. In the US, given regulatory capture - and how cheap the life of ordinary Americans has now become - they'll just let the driverless trucks run along with the rest of us. If a few die, that's just their bad luck (apparently).

Elusive1's avatar

They continue to chain us with their crap till we're imprisoned for life. 😡

Luke's avatar

Good point, Starlink could be lowering the cost playing the long game. Once the competition is gone….BOOM!

I know about this biz. It’s very expensive for a company to run infrastructure.

Elusive1's avatar

Of course. The long game.

Then we're trapped like animals.

They're all beyond disgusting. 🤮

Katherine M.'s avatar

Oh haven't you heard his latest cure/lie for that? According to him and that other sociopath over at open ai, we're all going to have a beautiful life with all our needs met with a "basic universal income". I can't imagine what they'd claim is an income we can live on. The lies never cease.

Luke's avatar

I certainly don’t trust it. Like they are going to let us all sit around and chill. They have ZERO intention in letting that happen.

Katherine M.'s avatar

It's a bold faced lie. None of them have any interest in letting us underlings have even our most basic needs met. If they refuse to pay a living wage, they certainly won't pay an income we can survive on. Keep in mind they've said it will be very "basic" and those that want more can go to work. They're all sociopaths hoping we're buying the shit they're selling. No one is, but no one is willing to stop them either. The Democrats make me want to scream! We have no one anywhere that is willing to fight for the masses.

Luke's avatar

Am with you 💯. Hell we are a problem in the here and now. Just imagine if they can replace us. These people who think they will just let us sit around and create art need smacked upside the head lol

Elusive1's avatar

Maybe he was referring to himself having the kids. 🤨

Luke's avatar

He has certainly waked the walk in that regard. That being said I don’t think he was referring to his own kids at all

Elusive1's avatar

I was half joking.

Par excellence Caitlin & Tim.Thank you! While knowing for a long while all you have stated here, we are grateful that you are getting us to sit up and think seriously about the mess humanity is wallowing in. We let capitalist dogma and its degenerate neo-liberal version to develop and overtake us. There are so many insane, shocking things happening at any given moment of Trump’s second term that it is time for resistance.

According to Rob Urie "China demonstrated that every single word of neoliberal economics is cynical garbage". And now they are hoisting us with Muskism.

At its root is the debt-based (usury) monetary system that the whole thing runs on, concentrating wealth and the power to decide to the few... and they stupid evil. They enforce the rule that profits must be maximized with extreme violence.

ArminKlein's avatar

Caitlin, I agree with you. I once wrote another comment saying that there is a 1% that acts as superhumans, because they control over 50% of the wealth. The remaining 99% of people are considered by this class a tool to further exploit the earth and dispose of them any time their use is not needed anymore. What I cannot fathom is how this can be. Marxism has shown a possible way, but the implementation is often contradictory. It seems that this 99% of “subhumans” just live with the illusion one day they can become part of this 1%. In the west where the Anglo-Saxon culture is so deeply imbedded and has colonised our subconscious it is extremely difficult to break the chains. It begins already with the language. I speak quite a few even though I am not a scholar, but I am not aware of any other language that pursues individuality and dominance over others, like English. In English the word “I” is always written in capital letters. So it is in a natural contraposition to “you”. “I” vs “you”. In English there is no courtesy form, respect form, like in other languages such as most “Latin” languages, German or Chinese. You address a stranger always with “you” from your higher position of “I”. So if you are exposed to this framing since you are a baby, how can you wrestle yourself out of it? How can you develop a framing where the common good has the priority? My hope is that other cultures in the east and south, by evading the cultural colonisation of the West (Capitalism), can develop sustainable alternatives. I would like to hear about them if they exist and how we can unite the majority of humans and break free from the chains of Capital and exploitation.

Louise Manelia's avatar

Great observation regarding language as it is a true reflection of culture.
