We use selected pieces from your weekly writings in our weekly community newspaper here in British Columbia. We’ve also made donations. We love your work, and our paper benefits from it. That being said, it often produces angry letters to the editor from radical liberal centrists who object to your views on Gaza and Ukraine, the facade of democracy as practiced, the evils of empire, and on the issue of free expression. We continue to be grateful, regardless. There is almost no print media surviving that publishes honest reporting that isn’t just acting as a stenographer for establishment lies. theislandsgrapevine.com

Thank you Keith and Mike for all you do.

Most push back is ad hominem attacks. Obvious to most of your readers.

The children and the voiceless others benefit from your work.

Doing good works while expecting nothing in return is the mark of elevated spirituality. The message is the message, the bearer is insignificant. Thank you Caitlyn.

I love that wording: The message is the message, the bearer is insignificant. May I use it? Let me say it a different way. That is such wisdom, that, I know you want it used by all, at any time. I will comply.

Go for it and thank you! It used to be "the medium is the message" by Marshall McCluen.

You must be a Woody Guthrie fan! He had the same attitude about all of his songs and works. And encouraged folks to add as they wanted.

The folk music tradition. It still exists, though you have to look for it.

I really admire your work and your way of sharing it. Times are really tough for Humankind, now. So, there is nothing as crucial as Communicating with as many Humans we can, in order to preserve Conscience, the Human Attribute.

Thanks Caitlin. I am so in sync with your commentaries. You just write so beautifully that in conversations I sometimes quote you exactly. People know that it’s not me, accordingly I always preface with, “that Caitlin says.” I so enjoy your work.

I’ve shared some of your work on Facebook, either posted on my timeline or offered to a particular person who I thought might be enlightened by it. Sadly, the pro-Democrat shitlibs I’ve encountered don’t seem to have the capacity to learn, but thanks for giving them an opportunity to be exposed to a different perspective.

Hi Wayne: I was a pro-Democrat shitlib for decades. Don't give up on others who haven't figured out what is reality yet. I am proof that people can change at any time if the message clicks.

That's a courageous statement about yourself and actually - in my opinion - proving you haven't been a shitlib, just uninformed/busy/whatever life-imposed reason. Real shitlibs are so pig-headed that they cannot and will not learn. On "principle".

Yeah, I was registered as a Democrat for 40 years before I went independent in 2020. I understand there’s a lot of people who haven’t discovered the sort of independent media I did when I stumbled onto Jimmy Dore in early 2016. But as Caitlin Johnstone has pointed out, if a genocide our government has been openly supporting isn’t enough to wake you up, I’m not sure what will.

Good that you got wise. Too many humans just keep on doubling down.

I suggest that the energy with which we disseminate information affects its reception. If we think that other people need to be changed by it, like people you call shitlibs- it makes it less likely that it will be well received and could even cause greater resistance. Like if you really think someone you love should go on a diet and you keep giving them information about heart disease.

This division of Life in our minds into shitlibs/Republicans vs the completely enlightened on everything and monsters vs normal people compassionate to everyone IS the problem.

"This division of Life in our minds" - just in our minds, it doesn't exist in reality. Wow!

I share your newsletter works to friends of mine who need a little more truth and a lot less propaganda in their lives. I am unsure if it reaches their hearts and minds but I need to share this content. Thank you so much Caitlin.

Sometimes I cry so much, just reading your contributions. My own thoughts & feelings are often affirmed. I do hear & love to see when others cite your words or frequent phrases that jolt us into recognition of why thinking through the horrors that now abound, matter. Your voice, your name, speaks out to internal wisdom held individually or collectively. As love is the active verb, your writings serve humanity in evolving decently.

May you be held in love & may kindness blossom freely in all.

Thank you so very much for your generosity, Caitlin! I frequently share your quotes, your poems, and links to your articles on my Substack. I always try to attribute them to you and recommend your Substack to others. All authors should receive recognition for their hard work, IMO. (Wouldn't it be nice if we could make a living from our writing, too?)
