The conjurers of media control have become so enmeshed within their own spin that they, too, believe their own lies; and, sadly, we mostly believe the bullshit they feed us. It takes quite an effort to break free of the "narrative". It can be frightening at first--leaving the fold of "normality", conforming to the masses, but after the discomforting uncanny feeling of uncertainty, one is freed of their fold and can see the illusions that "normality entails and bring a sense of profound freedom at last. It's scary but well worth it.
Back in the '60's as I was growing up conformity was all the rage, still is really, I was labeled a child that "needed" more stringent control methods. So I put on a persona of normality , all while straying outside their rigidity of "normal" internally, and hence, have marched to my own inner drummer--freedom as is meant to be.
We're losing our own and newer generation's of freedom--the internet--as silicone valley tries to control the beast they unleashed, a beast with unexpected consequences. Let's not lose this asset. Peace, The Ol' Hippy
At this point can’t we just accept that we are being lied to by Google, Meta, Twitter, MSM, all being directed by our bureaucratic machine? Anyone who can listen to the obvious blatant lies being thrust on us daily and refuse to accept the danger it represents has become simply a useful idiot. Anyone who refuses to THINK these lies are isolated to what’s obvious has been infected with a powerful psychological decease that appears to be incurable and may be fatal.
Soon writers/bloggers/etc.. will have to assume new identities to conceal who they are like the Cato letters or Benjamin Franklin's, Mrs. Silence Dogood....
Great research on Caitlin's part, once more. The surveillance and propaganda apparatus has been so long a feature of N American life that it is now imperceptible to a great many people. The rule should be: believe nothing without thorough research and confirmation from non- government or non-government affiliated sources. But change might come about if conditions on the ground get much worse: the cost of living for most ordinary people is almost prohibitive: it will take more than talk and rumour to make that go away.

I would add another dimension to this analysis - it seems to me that the control of information and ability to spin propaganda and suppress competing narratives is assisted by intimidation of conscientious employees, whistleblowers, and scientists. That happens via employment and funding.
Careerism rules and there are harsh prices to pay for speaking out (Assange is the example for journalists). Whistleblowers are destroyed professionally, financially, and often emotionally. Even making internal waves these days is career suicide.
And as your piece illustrates, government funding of NGO's is. a big part of the propaganda program.
But so it the blackballing of the few people on the inside in the know who speak out.
