Big Brother is here and the absence of privacy is ingrained in most people 40 and younger and its’ lack is taken for granted and shrugged off. So — not letting up for a minute — the children are to have no spontaneity in their lives, talk to their parents in the car or just listen to the radio and not control what song comes on next. Their phone or some device is always with them and listening with their algorithms to maximize sales of something.
If we’re headed for an economic downturn like some economists say it may force us to rely on each other more. That may be the silver lining if we can help each other rather than competing.
I did without TV before the age of 7 and very restricted amounts until around 10, m father recognized TV for what it was and didn’t want a “brainwashed baby” Do you remember how bad plain old TV sucks? By the time I was able to watch TV like a normal kid the damage was done Do you know what happens to kids who can’t talk to their peers about the “latest thing” whether last night’s episode of what everyone else is watching, or just football?
Protecting your kids from the internet and AI will only work if you protect them from the early-life prison called “school”. My sister and brother, both younger and exposed from an earlier age, “fit in”. My dad got his wish with me. I grew up to be radically political, but also a criminal. Never finished college. Never “amounted to something”. My dad died last year. At least he made sure I knew how to read. How many parents have the time, ability or inclination to homeschool, especially without relying on some kind of TV or internet based program? Before you “take away their phones,” think about what this dystopia has planned for outcasts. Maybe making sure they can think on your own time is more responsible?
The colonization of childhood by adults and the warehousing of kids in American schools is why kids are drawn to the internet: they're denied the right to have adventures and work toward independence, so they're resigned to watching real life, if we let them.
And more than just shrugging it off, a lot of us are willingly giving up our privacy. What used to be private has become public, like publishing the intimate details of our lives online. (I recently heard a woman on the bus talking loudly into her phone about her sex life. People were moving away toward the back of the bus). And what used to be shared public spaces, e.g., that same bus, have now been taken over by those who observe no boundaries and don’t distinguish between private and public.
Maybe they want us to be like them: they need to have a person that manages their daily life, keeps note of their appointments, when they have family meetings, which clothes to wear for what, and make sure they are cleaned etc., ready to wear. When to have a family dinner,who to keep/leave in their will, when to invest where,who to buy out,when to sevice the car, yacht, plane, when to get which house ready and when they need to visit it and who should be invited. And when to take the pills a d which ones when. So,so much for them to be reminded about, so of course, the chauffeur needs an ap to entertain the kids while s/he drives them to wherever for whatever, while he keeps a lookout for kidnappers.
The oligarchs know that they can only continue to control the population if their dystopian technology reduces our humanity and turns our brains into AI slop. And they also know that they are running out of time. Cognitive warfare of course targets children and adolescents most aggressively.

To be truly human is a noble endeavour. What most of us have become is neither human or noble. Look at the more primitive societies and the harmony they had. That is why they systematically destroy them when they come into contact. Think about it. All of the cultures that looked after one another ( the indigenous cultures of North America for example) were systematically destroyed. What we have now for the most part is not human. We would do better to study the customs of these people and avoid our own "civilization."

There is kind of a slippery slope, but it went from a slope to outright freefall. The slope begins with watching a lot of shitty TV (instead of reading a book, talking to people, etc). And buying greeting cards with canned sentiments printed on them so you don't have to think for yourself, struggle to express your feelings. Now a lot of us are not slipping but freefalling.
And these are the same people pushing for a universal income, so everyone can just sit, do nothing, while spending their universal income on subscriptions to their junk.
