1. "This genocide is one nonstop insult to our intelligence."

None of this matters, as long as Israel has power. This is why Zionists can say stupid things, such as 86% of genocide scholars are antisemites and Hamas to boot, and the facts don't matter, as long as Israel can have you canceled.

It's like trying to reason with a playground bully. The bully doesn't care about our cleverness, our word games, our cute memes, our tightly reasoned arguments and close readings of texts, unmoved by facts, logic, evidence or morality, as long as they have force on their side, as long as the bully can smash your face in whenever he feels like it.

2. "When you see the way pro-genocide Jews attack vocally anti-genocide Jews, you understand why there aren’t more vocally anti-genocide Jews. This isn’t to excuse anyone from their moral obligation to oppose an active genocide, only to point out one of the control mechanisms."

I suspect that there are a lot of Jews who privately have misgivings about Israel's genocide, but feel that they have to support Israel because ethnic solidarity, and besides, as Jews, they will be tarred with Israel's crimes regardless, so ethnic solidarity is their sole defense.

In this case, it can be both or either, as befitsan ethnicreligion. There are people who see themselves as Jewish but atheist (and who don't observe any religious practices) for example.

Those Jews who remain silent will be tarred with the same brush anyway. Why not be 'tarred' for a sheep as well as a lamb? If the world is trending towards Anti-Semitism, why wouldn't it when Jews remain silent? The one thing that has happened through their silence is the 'legitimisation and consent' for AS! In Israel itself, the populace seems right behind Netanyahu, so AS, anti-Zionism and anti-Israel have morphed and are now indistinguishable!

Jenny,

The one thing you do not hear of these days is the Sampson Option. It is this option, that gives the genocidists confidence that this battle is all but over.

"We have one bomb for every capital"; and they certainly do, the backup for all their dirty deeds.

Highest count for Israel's nuclear warheads has been from the US Air Force., many years ago. This was just under 400.

So it is that figure that has given the Israel criminals the confidence that has got them where they are today, together with two corrupted US Presidents, a distinctly high level of support for their cause by Western governments and a whole collection of military hardware investors who have made a fortune in the years of ethnic cleansing and who hope to make even more.

Some disloyal spy work from friends in the USA has helped to get Sampson under way after they assassinated JFK and France's willing support in the early stages in the building of the infrastructure was a blessing.

So its been a joint effort and now with the USA in there, boots and all to make this yet another USA base in the years to come, the chance of reversing the long held plans to save our Palestinians from death and destruction, is getting dimmer by the day.

Sampson is there in case of a surge in Western guilt, but without an attendance at the New York site of the UN, the Palestinians won't even get a change to make their case for a humane result.

Who is going to buck the system with the USA in Israel's pocket and no Palestinians allowed in to the UN in New York and finally, Sampson waiting in the wings.....waiting for the mad dogs to push the button. Of course, that should be button/s.

Thank you Caitlan for your persistent intelligence and lucidity. I'm not sure if you will have heard but Israel is now threatening to seize the many boats making up the Samud flotilla and to jail participants for lengthy periods of time. Of course their past short-term seizures in international waters have been nothing less than piracy and kidnapping. Encouraging global outrage BEFOREHAND might help. Hoping this will be the basis of another excellent piece. I know you must be exhausted. Thank you.

Israel and its allies gaslight us while committing genocide.

It's the crime of crimes, and our tax dollars are paying for this.

This is a moral injury to all of us, an insult to our intelligence, and business as usual for those who have lost their souls to colonialism.

We have to stop it.

Thank you, Caitlin, for cutting so cleanly through all the rhetoric. This is a Genocide.

All the twisted politics and propaganda around this grotesque atrocity are yet another sickness of mankind. Let those of us whose moral compass is still functioning devote all our energy into putting things right. Let us not fall one millimeter further into the trap of distorted and deranged thinking.

God bless Caitlin and all those who report the truth. The truth will set us all free, though it may first piss off some people.

Indeed, there is no credible denial of the Israeli genocide in Gaza left.

Also, it’s worth highlighting that all leading Israeli scholars have long recognized the Israeli genocide in Gaza as such: Amos Goldberg, Lee Mordechai, Omer Bartov, Aryeh Neier, Daniel Blatman, Raz Segal, etc.

In fact from the beginning Zionist colonization relied on acts of terrorism towards those already occupying that land base in the form of individual acts and violence directed at settlements and villages in Palestine.

Although my parents were not fanatics about it, the predominant narrative I was exposed to as a young Jew (and that they certainly believed) put forth Israel as somehow due recompense for European Jewry victimized by the Third Reich.

At some point I was made aware that my "Jewish blood" entitled me to citizenship in the Israeli state and the concomitant displacement of the current inhabitants. I was appalled and at that point turned consciously against the hideous Zionist project.

francesca albanese poses that states do not have a 'right to exist', peoples do and they can choose to organise as something state-like, but that untouchable 'state-right to exist' was a fascistic (mussolini-like) nationalistic ruse from the beginning.

Moreover, if more than 30 “experts” on the subject still can’t see the forest for the trees, what hope is there for the human race?

Their version of “voluntary relocation” will be : “volunteer to walk into the concentration camp or volunteer to go over by that wall and get shot. Oh, and, btw, if you have any friends and family still alive, take them with you.”

Relocation resulting from constant bombardment and starvation is no more voluntary than holding a gun to someone’s head and telling him to leave. “Voluntary relocation” is probably the most Orwellian phrase being employed by Team Genocide.

As for anti-genocide Jews, their numbers are growing rapidly here in the United States, as they are less intimidated by bogus charges of antisemitism. They know that they are on the side of morality and justice.

In my opinion, definitions of what Israel is doing to the Palestinians don't matter much. What matters is what can be done to stop Israel. And, unfortunately, there are no rules of international law that allow action to save a people without a UN member state. The General Assembly cannot decide unless it's proposed by the Security Council, which doesn't veto it with the United States. Therefore, either a group of states decides to intervene even without UN authorization, or Israel won't stop. These are the facts.

some nuance: un charter article 2 (4) prohibits use of force against another state (unless self-defense or security council authorization). applying the genocide convention any signatory is however obliged to do 'everything possible' (except unmandated violence) to prevent or punish a genocide. this means signatories should be going for a total blockade of israel. also, nato had no un-mandate in intervening in yugoslavia and they abused the un-mandate they had in libya. russia 'used' (applied?) the yugoslavia-precedent in ukraine: they recognised donetsk and lugansk as independent republics and formed a military alliance with them (a mini nato article 5, if you wish). this allowed them to invoke the r2p and 'self-defense' (un charter art. 51 that probably would apply in case of nato art. 5). hence (among others) the israeli hissy-fits regarding recognition of the 'palestinian state' and the intense portrayal of hamas, not as resistance-fighters, but as a terrorist-organisation (160 un-members do not designate hamas' political wing as a terrorist organisation, only 33 - including the usual suspects - do). one way to apply the genocide convention ('doing everything possible') would be to recognize gaza (abbas will be in the way if you take 1967 palestine) as a state and form a military alliance with it, and then invoke art.51 of the un charter 'self-defense'.

Thank you, martin for this clarification. NATO/US aggression in Yugoslavia was of course to break up a socialist state. I was unaware that Russia applied the Yugoslav precedent in Ukraine. My recollection is that Donetsk and Lugansk initially voted to join the Russian Federation but Russia recognised them as independent republics.

It was evident from the start that western imperial machinations portrayed Hamas - a resistance movement and a political entity - as a terrorist organisation. Total blockade of Israel is what should happen. Who is going to apply the optimistic blueprint you suggest, for a Palestinian state...

iirc, the russians quite often referenced the west's recognition of kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence in supporting donetsk and lugansk.

"This genocide is one nonstop insult to our intelligence."

It's also an insult to our morality, our humanity, and our commonsense.

Morality--for obvious reasons. Ethnic cleansing is a morally wrong and despicable behavior. Many believe genocidaires will burn in hell (as well they should).

Humanity--because watching our fellow humans suffering and starving online is horrific. Knowing that our governments are preventing human rights aid groups from entering Gaza to end this genocide is the ultimate slap across the face.

Commonsense--because destroying our fellow people and the planet means the end of us all eventually. Most of us aren't suicidal like apparently Zionists/Imperialists are.
