I believe, the Gaza Health Department has long lost the ability of seriously counting any deaths. So those figures of 50.000 to 60.000 who have died in the Israeli assaults are probably highly obsolete, if they ever were really meaningful of what's really going on. I think have to consider many hundred-thousands, maybe eve close to a million deaths by now.
Sadly the media, which are pontificating loudly whenever in the interest of the Western regimes provide only a minimum coverage, as keeping completely silent is not possible as the audience knows too much.

This is why the so called state of Israel has targeted trucks in Gaza that are used to dig through the rubble, any why it is not allowing these trucks into the Strip. The small numbers that are published are those reported to the health ministry.
If there are only 200,000 dead from this war, it would be a miracle. The equivalent of 4 Nuclear bombs were dropped on a country about the size of San Francisco.
New weapons, used to vaporize people, were used extravagantly. 200,000 might be a low figure for direct deaths, but indirect deaths by injury, illness, starvation, disease will be magnitudes higher. According to the UN, 14,000 infants are expected to die within the next day or so.

We call on the newly elected, American Pope Leo XIV to do whatever it takes to save Gaza and stop the bombing, and end the starvation. Western officials are having a harder time explaining why they’re supporting genocide. The usual slogans - Israel has a right to defend itself! October 7th! - look more and more like the b.s. they are. And what’s concerning them the most is the polls show young people in particular find these excuses empty and self-serving.

In essence, Israel is using Chomsky's boiled frog strategy but it does so for one reason only: to continue the slaughter as long as possible because, if Gaza were to be incinerated all at once, the conflict would end, new Knesset elections would have to be held and Netanyahu would be convicted and go to prison.
Now that Israel is allowing minimal food and medical aid into Gaza, the IDF can kill kids with a little something in their stomachs. That will be much better for their image. Threatening sanctions will also improve the tarnished, tattered image of Israel’s western supporters because, after all, image is all this is about.
