Defending the indefensible. Israel's excuses and fabrications hearken me back to adolescence during a summer between sophomore and junior years of high school, the first time I stayed out on NYC streets drinking with friends until 3 or 4 a.m. Returning home and sneaking in the back door only worked for a moment as I was caught and confronted by my dad during the act of massively puking into the bathtub. My face drained of blood, my head pounding, I scrounged every synapse for an excuse, a rationale. But there was none to be had. That's you, Israel, except that my dad ultimately displayed compassion for my plight, a humane emotion completely lacking in your repertoire.
Without question, truth will always suffice and always be used when truth furthers your position. Thank you Caitlin for your steadfast adherence to honesty and reason.
Trying to undo the sins of the nation state within the confines of the nation-state concept is likely to be unsuccessful. Part of what I want to do is to encourage more of us to think about new ways to think and act on this issue.
There must be a permanent ceasefire, not with Palestinians suffering under oppressive conditions, but as a place where all live with peace and equality. It is time for Pope Francis to do more than talk. He must go to Gaza and make a stand for peace and freedom.
For that matter, if Ukraine really were having such success and Russia committing so many atrocities, why was it necessary to make so many easily disproven claims?
It seems that over 95% of the Jewish-Israeli population are consumed by hate and paranoia. (Max Blumenthal quotes a new poll where only 1.6% of the Israeli public thinks that the the IDF has used too much fire power.) I wonder if that has anything to do with occupying and oppressing the people whose land they stole, for 75 years?
I am presently reading Gad Saad's book , The Parasitic Mind. It is all about truth and freedom and very worth reading. It is a very scary book because the lunatic fringe in our societies ,namely the elites, have decided they decide what truth and freedom is and know full well they can get away with anything. Netanyahu is another monster of our times as he knows this is a time in history when he can commit genocide and get away with it . Like numerous other war criminals he will never see the inside of a court room or the noose he deserves.

Amen! The lies are getting stale and the false accusations are breaking up families, friends, and organizations that could be doing positive things in the world. Stop the lying, Israel propagandists/apologists! It's for your own good. It's for EVERYONE'S good. I was at a store and casually said to a young person, please write to our congress people and the white house to stop the genocide of the Palestinian people. The reply, I am only one person what good would that do? Discussion time : ), I said my emails are half as powerful unless you write also. Eyes blink. It’s clear that this situation is a propagandized event designed to capture the attention of the masses.
All we can do is awaken people to the illusion being pushed on us and be sure that we’re not giving all our attention to where they want it to go vs putting that attention on our friends, families and loved ones:
Israel took a turn for the More Monstrous after October 7, clearly. Unfortunately, many people will be confused by Israel's propaganda blitz to confuse all Jews with Israel. Part of the insidiousness of Israel's campaign is that they are in fact trying to stoke anti-Semitism which, in a fit of reverse psychology, somehow justifies all their crimes against Palestinians, who are defined a priori as "anti-Semites"--as if Palestinians weren't Semites themselves, which they obviously are.
Yes. If your position was based on science you wouldn't have to censor, discredit, demonetise, de-platform or sack anyone who disagrees with you. You would just debate them and show everyone they're wrong and you're right. If your position was based on science you wouldn't have to emotionally blackmail, coerce or bribe people into taking untested and unnecessary medications. If your position was based on science you wouldn't have to constantly reinforce the idea that locking up the elderly, limiting exercise, isolating people from community and preventing hugging were actually saving lives- because anyone with any common sense and/or has read the literature knows that the exact opposite of this is true.
One person here derided us who post on Caitlin's Newsletter as her echo chamber. If like Caitlin we value truth and justice and compassion - and through her Newsletter - we get to share it with other like minded human beings we are glad to be in her corner.
Whose echo chamber are you in Daniel? It must be terribly uncomfortable in there, to go on justifying the daily killings and destruction wrought by Israel; and the total disregard for any kind of human kindness. Are you sure that you are happy hearing the children cry? I can only imagine how being in there will addle your brain and harden your heart.
Will you be happy if the war expands into Lebanon as Netanyahu threatened this morning? He said - and this was on mainstream news - that he will turn Beirut into another Gaza!
