It would be unconscionable to look away! My disgust at Biden/ US increases for their looking away from Israel’s deliberate murder of Palestinians. Looking away seems to be a U.S. policy.

Respect Caitlin. My heart aches for the suffering being inflicted on the people of Palestine and the cruel indifference and dismissal by our governments in the west. The power of your writing, the love and commitment, motivates me to continue to witness, endure and speak out against the Palestinian genocide.

NO ONE should ever look away. In my part of the world which is small communities in southern Alabama, a lot of people just talk about Oct. 7th, 2023 and how we need to pray and support Israel. I witnessed it this evening at a Christmas party I attended with my Dad. The man in our tractor club who said the prayer mentioned Oct.7th and Israel like Israel is suffering only, no mention of the Palestinians who are the real victims and the ones being massacred every day. When will my country stop siding with Israel?! Why does Israel get a pass, but when the SMO began last year in February 2022 it was all Russia/Putin is a war criminal with no evidence to back it up, but with Gaza there is mountains of evidence of war crimes committed by Israel and these sorry leaders in the West and yes, a lot of Americans I’m sad to say, go on and on about poor Israel?! It’s disgusting and pathetic. One of my friends at the party, who is Evangelical, even said she wanted a blue and white decorated Christmas tree in honor of Israel. I just don’t understand it and I guess I never will. As for me I will continue to support the people of Gaza and all people who are oppressed just like I would if I lived during the time of the Holocaust. America has a hang up when it comes to WW2, yet our leaders won’t even admit that it was the former Soviet Union who did most of the fighting against the Nazis. 😢☮️

The precious people of Palestine remind us every day of the collective suffering of all mankind. I weep for them. And I pray.

I am a very tough old bird but you make me cry. I believe in the power of prayer to change things and to change us. Those of us in the Caitlin sphere have different spiritual or religious beliefs but we share our humanity.

As for the paltry sum you mentioned it isn’t paltry if it’s all we have. Jesus praised the widow for her tiny gift and said it was greater than those that had given large gifts because she gave out of her poverty but others gave out of their abundance.

Please do not look away Caitlin and keep encouraging us not to either. Thank you for your inspiration and sharing your heart with us.

A magnificent piece of writing Caitlin. I admit I have started to look away and you have reminded me why I must not.

As with Julian Assange, those who do not look away and prove themselves effective - are taken away . . .

And part of our not looking away has to be to get others to not look away as well.

Honor the living, dying and dead. Hold.their hands and comfort them. And pray for and vision peace. May sanity return to Palestine.

I’ve held the hand of my husband, my father and my grandmother at the end of their lives. It brought me some comfort and hopefully them too. This genocide is not comparable. I didn’t watch them blown to bits, obliterated or crushed to death for no reason except for their ethnic origin. This is horrific and I can’t believe I am complicit in this as an American. The blood on our hands cannot ever be washed away.

The least we can give the people of Gaza is our attention. I wish we could somehow give them more...

The UN Special Council today voted for a ceasefire in Gaza 14-1-1. The US voted no and the UK abstained. The world sees what’s going on and are not looking away .

It's just a matter of time before the chickens come home to roost. This shit will stop. I hope I live long enough to see it.

Those who refer to dead children as "collateral damage" do not need to look away for a different reason. They aren't seeing dead children, but a wartime equivalent of mangled products of conception.

Shame on them.
