“It’s because the US-centralized empire is the most tyrannical power structure on earth, and the only ones able to resist its agendas of total planetary domination are the ones who are willing to use force to thwart its efforts.” —-

Pretend that those growing percentages of Americans who now oppose Israel actually means something significant in terms of opposition, that these people are really paying attention to the larger issue of US imperialism rather than simply displaying a bit of sympathy for dead children. While the sympathy's nice, the deep realizations are absent in lots of these folks.

In politics you gotta work with what's out there.

Vin LoPresti's avatar

Yeah, politics is compromise, and hence for major issues like genocide, gets us nowhere. Thanks for reminding us.

US public opposition to the genocide in Gaza and the war in Iran is vital to stopping the genocide and replacing a regime of war mongers with a chance to change course. You can lend a hand or get out of the way. A term like "simply displaying a bit of sympathy for dead children" is callous and ignorant. The anti-war movement is alive and growing and there is a depth to it, demonstated by the democratic socialist campaign to expose the rule of oligarchy to be replaced. The opposition to mock is real and deep. You can support it or undermine it, joining with AIPAC and the right to dismiss a deeply felt opposition to US wars and hegemony.

More important than ever that the search for justice continues! The work that the Hind Rajab Foundation is doing to track down and bring Israeli criminals to justice is one that is vital in the effort to hold Israel accountable.  Let us hope they will also turn their sights on the criminal leaders of the countries of the west who are co-perpetrators of these crimes.

Find out what they’re doing here:

The least we can do is donate to help them:

Dear Americans,

I write to you today to ask you to think about those radical elements in the US that actually exist and are making noises about overthrowing the US govt, and then consider some possibilities.

Let's say some foreign govt decided to hand these Americans millions of dollars to get their message out through the internet and other media. Do you think they would be able to get their message out? I'm leaning towards a hard "Yes". Money talks. We all know and accept that.

Next, imagine if after a few years, or maybe a decade or so of this, that foreign govt started giving these Americans and their recent converts weapons like assault rifles, grenade launchers, handheld missile launchers, land mines, etc, etc. Would it be possible to get a rebellion started? No guarantees, but I don't think we can rule it out either.

Why am I asking you to consider these things? Because that's what your govt is doing as I write this and as you read it. That's exactly what your government has been doing for longer than any of us have been alive, so please take a moment to stand in the shoes of all of the people around the world who have been at the receiving end of this.

Best regards,

“How to be an empire propagandist”.

Pay your mortgage and go to work. Or more precisely…. Go to work and pay your mortgage.

I recall Marx writing: "Workers, you are the problem. We will crush you before debt in your evil desire to own a home."

dale ruff's avatar

Your arrogance is matched only by your ignorance of the struggle of most in the US just to survive, while also turning against war and empire. You are conflating victims with perpetrators...how vicious.

John Turcot's avatar

I’d rather be arrogant than to not understand the English language. But in the hope that you can understand my intended message, I am saying that paying ransoms (mortgages) to your masters (the Empire) is slavery.

Maybe the word propagandist is confusing the issue for you. Perhaps adding the words ‘Checking your credit score every day will convince you that you are not free, and that you owe your soul to your maters’.

Get it? ????

or, you can do what a "pacifist" told me when I mentioned that Carney is militarizing Canada rather than spending our tax dollars on helping the people: "Carney is doing his best", she said. When pacifists think that militarizing to defend onself is the answer, it is time to stop being a pacifist.

Joy in HK fiFP's avatar

The only problem with that is, that 'defending oneself' is amongst the most malleable concepts out there. After all, Israel is only 'defending' itself, or so it claims.

Dammit, I wish I could have a full belly and enough money in my pocket to live a nice, quiet American lifestyle without fucking the world over. Its because I have to co-habitate with people who give into the greed gene that always demands more and belittles "enough is enough to be happy" thinking.

Thanks Caitlin! With my new job as an empire propagandist I can finally move out of the homeless encampment and earn a degree in torture science.

Call on Pope Leo XIV to do whatever it takes to save Gaza and stop the bombing, and end the starvation. Let him go to Gaza and stand with the suffering people who are being massacred by Israel and the Western posers. He can go to Gaza right now, and insist aid be allowed in. Then on to the West Bank to end the occupation and apartheid.

Is there anything more important in today's world than this?

This is a waste of time. Imagine petitioning the Pope to do something that any person with a sense of humanity would have done without prompting. That is if he/she thought it would have a kind of impact that the Pope could generate. I remember that during the Iraq War, some individuals went to Baghdad as human shields to stop the bombing. They urged the Pope to do the same. Guess what? He was busy at the time. No difference from the DalayLama and other high-profile spiritual leaders. Do you see any of them in the boats bringing food and medicine to Gaza?

I wonder what all the shitlibs are going to do with their Ukraine flags when they realize the Jewish Ukrainian dictator is a Zionist warmonger. There's a reason he went to Daddy Trump the same time as Netanyahu.

So many fall for and parrot this propaganda. It's been absorbed by so many as obvious truth, it's all been repeated so much.
