I would agree with you if Americans weren't so averse to thinking and talking about childhood trauma. We have no idea what children go through and when we do acknowledge a problem, we trip over each other in the rush to blame screens and social media. The American mind is a blunt object when it comes to understanding psychology, and certainly when it comes to children and teens.
