Excuse the re-post but this is such a fit for this thread.
When I first read the article "Israel’s Biblical Psychopathy" by Laurent Guyénot
I thought it was harsh. Then Israel showed it's true nature and character for all to see
by it's actions in Gaza.
There is a minister in Netanyahu's coalition government that unabashedly espouses
the nature, the collective unconscious, of the beast that until recently
boiled beneath the surface of Israel.
Before he became Finance Minister for Netanyahu (and head of West Bank settlements development)
he held other posts. Here is a Times of Israel article (2017) from when Betzalel Smotrich was Deputy Knesset Speaker.
As he is a critical/power figure in Netanyahu's coalition he currently holds Netanyahu hostage as he threatens to quit and destroy the coalition if Netanyahu doesn't follow
his psychopathic plans.
Betzalel Smotrich is a follower of Rabbi Kook [his true God-given name].
Rabbi Kook invented a new religion in Palestine, not New York, many decades ago - Religious Zionism.

At a gathering of religious Zionist public figures two weeks ago, [then] Deputy Knesset Speaker Betzalel Smotrich
talked about his diplomatic plan, which he dubbed “The subjugation plan.”
The purpose of the plan, he said, was “to erase all Palestinian national hope.”
Under the plan, the Palestinians will be given three choices – to leave the country; to live in Israel
with the status of “resident alien,” because, as Smotrich made sure to note,
“according to Jewish law there must always be some inferiority,” or to resist,
“and then the Israel Defense Forces will know what to do.”
When the deputy Knesset speaker was asked if he intended to wipe out whole families, including women and children,
Smotrich replied, “In war, as in war.”
Smotrich presented the Book of Joshua as the source for his remarks.
According to the Midrash, Joshua sent the residents of the land of Canaan three letters
in which he set out the three aforementioned conditions. Maimonides explains that if the non-Jews
do not flee, they must have limitations imposed on them
“so they should be despised and lowly, and not raise their heads in Israel.”
If they resist, he says, “not a soul must be left among them” – in other words, kill them all.
The analogy is incomplete. You would need Ontario, Ohio, Vermont, New Jersey and Connecticut to chase the Mormons out and add that at least a couple of them are intent on destroying Mormons and oh yeah probably add that some random state from far away tried to exterminate all Mormons. Maybe then she would have a complete analogy.
Many states DID throw mormons out and persecute them. Mormons were also accused of being a sect that did many heinous acts. Mormons are also hilariously racist, believing that dark skin is a curse from God and that believing in Jesus whitens your sons. So, there are many parts of the analogy that fit.
Analogies don't need to be "complete" to work, however, she could have thrown in that Mormons staged false flag attacks on Mormons in NH in order to stimulate migration to New York.
The heavily defended borders of Mormonland were penetrated by the terrorists who live in the concentration camps on the borders.. Now if that ain't a false flag attack, I dunno
My idea is to organize groups of people here in America to randomly knock on people's doors and inform them you are taking their house and they need to leave right now. Tell them the police will back you up and they shouldn't make you bring them in for their own sake. Just like the illegal Israeli settlers do.
In those days of course, Susan, it was the British who still held the reigns of a dying empire.
In 1917, in order to win Jewish support for Britain's First World War effort, the British Balfour Declaration promised the establishment of a Jewish national home in Ottoman-controlled Palestine, as it was then.
This all came to pass after WWII and it has become a festering sore since then. Now known as a Nazi-like genocidal state, fully supported in their dirty deeds now by a compliant failing empire country like the USA, it is an arrogant Zionist homeland with still more land to pursue as "their own" in Turkey, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt. Not all, but bits here and there, which they call "Eretz Israel", another figment of Zionist imagination.
So gird your loins, all those countries. The game is still on ......with US approval, naturally.
Don't forget, the English *also* promised the Palestinians their own country... In that same region. Not that they ever have a shit about the people living there, Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Zoroastrian, or any other stripe.
It's interesting that you use the Mormons in your analogy.
Most people don't realize the extent to which Mormon money and influence is guiding our national policy. And the extent to which these ongoing conflicts are related to the fundamentalist teachings of the Mormon Church. They certainly rival the Zionist influence in our institutions.
One might wonder why the Mormons haven't themselves laid claim to Palestine, given their belief that they are descendants of the original Israelites. Or maybe that's still in the works?
Apparently, the CIA heavily recruits from the Mormon Church, especially returned missionaries (aka "mishies", in Mormon slang).
Makes sense. You get clean cut straight arrow flag-waving types who don't question any of the Eagle/Flag/Freedom BS, but at the same time, you get people who are sufficiently devoted (or amenable to pressure) to a cause to waste two years pestering people to join a church that they probably have no interest in joining, and the mishies have learned how to learn a language.
Supposedly, the CIA also has a lot of swingers, but I am not sure how that one fits in.
Swingers have contacts and can be used for blackmailing people ("you had an orgy with so and so" to a senator), they also can sleep with people in high places and extract information from sexual favors. Im sure you get the picture.
Jesus was blond with blue eyes, don't you know? A Mormon friend had his portrait on her wall. Creepy eyes follow you around the room. (Wonder what she'd think of my mom's "black Jesus" plaque?)
Mormons are very rich for what they are, they also control parts of the media landscape. Mormon churches are some of the largest in the world, with minimal membership and attendance.
You may want to re-examine that belief. It has been shielded from view, so it's not something that is widely known.
And the confluence of all of these religious institutions and ideologies is considerably affecting -- the second coming, armageddon, apocalypse, these are strong, deeply held beliefs that even affect non-believers.
Even the Muslims believe that the world ends in the Middle East.
The point is, that all of it together is a major driving force in what is happening now in the world.
You might have added that the Mormons deserve to control New York State because of the history of brutal oppression that Mormons faced in other states in the nineteenth century.
Read up about their troubles in Missouri and then Illinois. Joseph Smith Jr. also ran out of the state of Ohio to avoid going to jail earlier... All that persecution. That makes it okay for them to take your home in Arizona or Minnesota, right?
Story I heard about why Joseph decided that Mormon men can have more than one wife is because his wife kept finding him diddling young girls. So he looked into a hat and heard gawd tell him that it’s okay to have more than one wife.
I grew up in Utah and fell out of the chair laughing when my friend told me that Mormon men can have their own planet to be gawd of. But only if they reach the highest kingdom which takes a lot of money to achieve. Just like what Jesus preached…oh wait. I dreaded moving back to Utah because even though I wasn’t raised Mormon I still had gotten a lot of their silly values. That was a shock.
Mom cried when my brother told her that he was joining the church. The wife never forgave mom.
A few years ago some activists dressed as Badgers took over a London Starbucks, saying they had the rights to the land because it was written in their book of Badgers.
What a great way to ridicule the rights of Israel to exist and take the land of those living there.
Your Swiftian proposal makes the point that Jewish entitlement is immense. And the genetic fact that the Ashkenazim who created Zionism and Israel are 50% European by ancestry requires objective observers to raise their estimate of the Jewish sense of entitlement even higher.
that shows the effect of the 1965 immigration "reform" act. It demonstrates that Northwestern European immigration to the U.S. was cut and Third World immigration was increased. Extreme ethnic diversity has been shown to lead to social fragmentation and conflict.
"With the support of President Johnson's Administration, Representative Emanuel Celler (D-NY) introduced the Immigration and Nationality bill, H.R. 2580.[5] Emanuel Celler was a senior representative, as well as the Chair of the House Judiciary Committee.[29] When Celler introduced the bill..." Representative Celler was Jewish.
Indeed, the Mormons were driven out of several places and even Deseret(Utah) was not safe as the Union government that claims to respect and protect religious freedom persecuted them. As were the Branch Davidians of Waco, Texas in the 1990s. However the Haudenosaunee (5 Nations) of American Indians would have an older claim and older religion and they were treated even worse by the terrorist European invaders.
How about all of humanity (incl. Zionists & Mormons) peacefully handing-over the entire planet to the current strains of bacteria (whether harmless or lethal) that obviously all are the descendants of the ones who lived and thrived everywhere for 100ds of millions of years prior to the ascent of Homo sapiens ??
PERFECT! This is EXACTLY what has happened! We have been talking about this at my house. "Should the Protestants (insert any religion) have their own state?"
The blue states are all in on supporting Zionism too... you don't have to be religious to believe God gave that land to the Israelis.. Most of the Zionists were atheists in the beginning, but they did believe that God gave them that land.
It will never stop being hilarious how fast Zionists will drop their "Jews are indigenous to Israel" schtick and admit that it's just another western settler-colonialist project the millisecond they think they can score a few points in an argument by doing so.
I’m not saying that it wasn’t colonization, though you might not know that many countries refused to let in Jewish refugees during the Holocaust (perpetrated by white Europeans). Canada kept them out. The Palestinians deserve their land and deserve a dignified existence and Israel has been cruel for decades and should stop slaughtering Gazans. No question. But your sanctimonious and adolescent analogies are “hilarious” because they never acknowledge your own implication as a settler whose privileges on your own land come at the expense of others. Same for Canada and the U.S. In the U.S., white Christians practiced redlining to keep Jews and Blacks among others out of their neighborhoods. Then there are the reservations. I just wonder how you can skip over these histories so lightly. It’s the sanctimony and hypocrisy I have trouble with, because if we agree that genocidal colonization is wrong, then that applies to every white settler in Canada, the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, and much of Africa among other places.
I don't know how to respond to someone who's arguing against a made-up position I've never given any indication that I hold. I've always acknowledged I live on stolen land in a nation built on genocide. I'm writing about the genocide in Gaza because that's the most urgent thing happening in the world right now. This isn't actually complicated.
What you say is valid. Historically we are all 'walking in blood', However nothing even comes close to rivalling Israels use of bombs and the tech of the day. This tends to make all previous colonialist behaviours pale by comparison.
Thank you Brad. Your thoughtful reply is the “Bayt Al-Qaseed” for this excruciating back and forth that has gone on way too long in my opinion. “bayt al-qaseed” is translated from Arabic to English as “the last line of the poem” in other words: the bottom line. Now I’m sure that Miss Patience is fluent in Arabic so let’s see what Her Excellency has to say about my comment.
Jenny, do you ever wonder how many people Europeans have killed in all their wars, imperialism, colonialism, religions conflicts, bad policy decisions, capitalist endeavors, etc. ?
You love to harp about the evils of the US (which I agree with), but where is your outrage for Europe and European history?
Are there laws that tell people where they can live and who they can marry based on race? That's an apartheid country. Israel (and the older South Africa) has laws that regulate where people can live--no matter how much money they have. That's the difference between racism and apartheid. Once it's put into law (and is enforced by the police/military), it's apartheid. Up until that point, it's considered racism.
Not disputing with anyone about the evil of Israel’s policies, but if you don’t know the history and repercussions of redlining in the U.S., then you might look it up. When does keeping people out of certain neighborhoods and gunning them down when they are unarmed qualify as “apartheid”? Then there is extractive capitalism in Canada which to this day does not recognize indigenous territorial sovereignty while allowing some communities to subsist without water or access to decent employment. At some point, these distinctions become less meaningful if you’re on the ground and that ground is being poisoned.
So because of colonialism in the past we should support ONGOING colonialism? I don't think Australia is currently using cluster bombs or white phosophorus in its indigenous population, is it? Or starving them all with a blockade? Like Israel is doing right now. Im sure there would be a deserved uproar if Australia started to just bomb indigenous refugee camps, wouldn't it?
Ahh they did suffer the brunt of plandemic aerosol subjugation because they live in poorer quarters if they are residing traditionally. The areas of ‘government handouts’ are posited with alcohol shopping that kills them very fast due to native bodily incapacity to synthesize it and predisposition to addiction to it. There’s so much more to such situations than a paragraph can do justice. Perhaps that’s why being mindful when using examples is preferential.
If you read more of Caitlin's writing Patience you will find she's not one to skip over histories lightly and most likely she is already very aware of the examples you so helpfully point out.
I have been reading her. The serial killer analogy also left out these histories. The excessive glee in her tone is the problem. She’s enjoying her sanctimony too much and scoring points on it without reflecting on her own implication in the longer history that led up to this moment. What’s going on is a tragedy. Israel should be condemned, but white settlers should feel the pain of their ancestors’ role in it. After all, white Christians control white people lands that used to belong to indigenous groups. How did they manage that? Through ethnic cleansing.
No, I didn’t make it up. You’re enjoying your own perceived cleverness, but I didn’t find this post clever bc of the actual history of colonization in New York. The word Lacanians use for your self-satisfied enjoyment is jouissance. As Zizek would say, “Enjoy your symptom!”
I disagree that Caitlin has a tone of ‘excessive glee’ in her writing. She clearly cares deeply about what is going on in Gaza in full view of the entire world. Her creativity is finding many different ways to look at what is going on is unique.
See above. The history that leads up to the Balfour agreement and the drawing of maps that facilitated Israel’s sense of entitlement does not justify Israel’s cruelty toward Palestinians before and since Oct 7. You’re reading my comments very selectively if you think I’m trying to defend Israel. I’m attacking the toxic tone and ahistorical daftness of Caitlin’s rage porn.
I agree + at this moment in time where there is so much anger (using a sect of people -Mormons) is dangerous even though it is an analogy. Quite easy to make up a name which would still create the idea.
I have read a lot of the comments. Now we see nasty comments with regard to Mormons will they be next Caitlin because of you?
some people are born into privilege of not needing to exterminate the brutes as those had been previously sufficiently exterminated by their ancestors. when exterminating was morally fine and could not be televised.
tough luck, australians had it easier, austrians, you see, already a bit less, and nowadays it's a bloody ordeal.
Of your many brilliant analogies this is one of the best. The flag!!
Brilliant but too kind.
Excuse the re-post but this is such a fit for this thread.

The unvarnished truth. The horror.

Bad and reductive analogies are bad for thinking. You sound like a Grey Zone reader.
My idea is to organize groups of people here in America to randomly knock on people's doors and inform them you are taking their house and they need to leave right now. Tell them the police will back you up and they shouldn't make you bring them in for their own sake. Just like the illegal Israeli settlers do.
Can atheists have our own state? I want one too. Somewhere nice, perhaps with a mountain and ocean views
Hi Michael
I’m Pagan and I claim my home state of Michigan for believers in nature ONLY. And we’ll control an enormous amount of the world’s fresh water supply.
Atheists would be welcome as well.
😁
Sure, but are you ready to murder your way to the new homeland?
"Nobody laugh at anything I just said. It isn’t ridiculous. It is normal and smart." If only we had started laughing when Israel was suggested.
In those days of course, Susan, it was the British who still held the reigns of a dying empire.

Mormons consider themselves Zionists. They refer to any place they live as Zion. Think Zion National Park in Utah.

My God, you've uncovered the plot.
Apparently, the CIA heavily recruits from the Mormon Church, especially returned missionaries (aka "mishies", in Mormon slang).

Supposedly, the CIA also has a lot of swingers, but I am not sure how that one fits in.
I am a jazz musician and I have never met a CIA agent who can swing. Especially so for drummers.
There are a lot of Mormons in the U. S. Foreign Service (State Dept.) also, some are good at languages but not all of them.
Swingers have contacts and can be used for blackmailing people ("you had an orgy with so and so" to a senator), they also can sleep with people in high places and extract information from sexual favors. Im sure you get the picture.
Apparently, the LDS also like ballroom dancing. FWIW.
I heard they take orders from a guy that gets his orders by looking into a black bag.
the ultimate mlm
Right because don’t you know that Jesus was lily white and came from North America
Jesus was blond with blue eyes, don't you know? A Mormon friend had his portrait on her wall. Creepy eyes follow you around the room. (Wonder what she'd think of my mom's "black Jesus" plaque?)
In the words of Lily from "Sex Education," black Jesus is hot.
He's definitely better looking/more friendly than "blond/blue-eyed Jesus".
😂
No chance they rival Z, false equivalence of epic proportions.
Every fundamentalist religion now is convinced we're in the end times.
You watch what shakes out of this.
Oh it will be chaos no doubt, but the Mormons are a tiny sect with minimal power. The z’s are also tiny but they control exponentially more wealth.
Mormons are very rich for what they are, they also control parts of the media landscape. Mormon churches are some of the largest in the world, with minimal membership and attendance.
You may want to re-examine that belief. It has been shielded from view, so it's not something that is widely known.

When asked how fascism starts, Bertrand Russell once said: "First, they fascinate the fools. Then, they muzzle the intelligent."
Given the proportions nowadays they don't have to bother with the latter so much.
They do bother, but the muzzle is virtual. It is algorithms, shadowbans and actual censorship in the guise of "private platforming"
Sigh ...
You might have added that the Mormons deserve to control New York State because of the history of brutal oppression that Mormons faced in other states in the nineteenth century.
True dat. As Tom Wolfe put it - the Mormons were considered more of a threat than all the hippies of the sixties put together.

Your Swiftian proposal makes the point that Jewish entitlement is immense. And the genetic fact that the Ashkenazim who created Zionism and Israel are 50% European by ancestry requires objective observers to raise their estimate of the Jewish sense of entitlement even higher.
I like the term "Jewish entitlement" but that impunes non-Zionist Jews also. I prefer "Zionist entitlement".
The context of Ms. Johnstone's blog is Zionist abuses of Palestinians. However, if you believe that certain gentiles outside of Palestine are not harmed by a generalized Jewish entitlement, then your understanding of the past 120 years of European history and of the past 100 years of American politics is superficial. The current open southern border is the result of Jewish political pressure in favor of non-European immigration. Peruse the table https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_and_Nationality_Act_of_1965#:~:text=One%20of%20the%20main%20components,a%20seven%2Dcategory%20preference%20system.

Representative Celler was Jewish.
so that makes it a Jewish conspiracy?? My god, the Nazis among us!

Vatican City is barely like ten square miles. Even so, it was made a "State" by Mussolini, so not a very good example of something peaceful and nice.
Religion poisons everything....not peaceful and nice.
Well the Republicans and Democrats have their own states and they get pretty mean too.
What do you expect from states with megachurches and tv evangelists who have Israeli settlements named after them?
The blue states are all in on supporting Zionism too... you don't have to be religious to believe God gave that land to the Israelis.. Most of the Zionists were atheists in the beginning, but they did believe that God gave them that land.

There's a difference between racism and apartheid.
It seems the difference is far too subtle for Patience to understand.
My patience has withered too.
I think it is an apartheid state.
Tell that to the Chinese living there!
So many ongoing genocides, so little time... I think Israel is on the top of the heap right now tho....
You made that "glee" up in your imagination. Stop bad faith tone policing people who criticize Israel.
1648 vs. 1948!
Hey, Patience:
What if you’re Palestinian-American and want to go back to the land of your ancestors?
Yer shit outta luck is what.
Now we see nasty comments with regard to Mormons will they be next Caitlin because of you?
the Mormons were persecuted a century or so ago... now they're in power.... so I don't think they're in danger.
some people are born into privilege of not needing to exterminate the brutes as those had been previously sufficiently exterminated by their ancestors. when exterminating was morally fine and could not be televised.
tough luck, australians had it easier, austrians, you see, already a bit less, and nowadays it's a bloody ordeal.
Still doing.
who's asking who to pack up and leave?
Excellent
