Their real concern is that young people awakened by the Gazan genocide will, over the next fifty years of their lives, further inform themselves about the political force that has, for decades, controlled much of American domestic and foreign policies, and about how harmful such policies have been to average Americans.

Features numerous examples of cops going wild. But remember, kids, we have to vote for Halfwit Joe because Trump is a fascist!

I am no Trumper, far from it, but fascism is already here.

Very moving to listen to this man talk about the Pro-Palestine marches on campuses across America and how he supports and joins them. Thank you for sharing the link. He knows what genocide looks like, he’s experienced it and I applaud all of these Holocaust survivors for being part of the Pro-Palestine Movement.

Just suck on that for a minute -- feel the number of tentacles that Zionist (racist/apartheid) society has inserted into the blood vessels of this society, already primed with its history and proclivities of racism/apartheid. As a biologist, I'd be compelled to think parasitism (or a new category of sick symbiosis - mutualist parasitism). And I'm, of course bloody sickened by it; we all are - nature of the illness.

Expand full comment

I assume you're not suggesting parasitism literally, meaning, not something new (organic? - not sure of terminology) that infected the humanity.

I tend to think humans have always been like that, but the internet enabling both information availability as well as mechanisms of reaching humans in order to manipulate them - that is, two-way effects - just illuminated for those paying attention what humans can be turned into in practice.

And I'm not surprised at all, as historically it's looked like that always. Just mentally scaling up stimuli applied via the new technological means could help with a possible picture. Interpolation, really.

Recently I ran into this series "Oxford Pamphlets on World Affairs" and one of the authors there is R. C. K. Ensor with two succinct titles re Hitler and his "Mein Kampf". Written in 1939. Great distillation of Hitler's approaches and methods, about 30 pages each. They help with imagining what he could have achieved if he had technological means of today. Also illustrating how what he did is being practiced today by the empire and its minions.

They will, Susan. It’s inevitable.

This is Vietnam war protests redux.

I spent a lot of time in Ann Arbor during the 60s and 70s when my brother attended university there. At the time, it was considered the second most radical university in the country, after Berkeley, I believe.

The outrage was palpable.

I read up on the current protests occurring there presently; so far, there have only been a few trespassing tickets issued.

I’m not a big fan of U of M. It’s rife with intellectual snobbery and everyone I know who attended suffered from ulcers during their time there. My brother said that they were horrible to the medical students. But I do admire the students’ propensity to stand up for what’s right.

One of the things which is so blatant to me is the United Kingdom of the GREAT British Empire is that having failed in their Hegemony, immediately tied themselves to the great United States.

As the Chinese keep saying: This saving face.

I am a child who was born after the British empire imploded. MY Father was a British facist. He could NOT understand that maybe Sri Lanka could run it's own country without the help from the British.

So what did the English do after losing Sri Lanka and India?

They put in place English people to run every part of the Govt. The Indians and Sri Lankans did not want this BUT still the British Empire was in charge.

It took years before India and Sri Lanka told them to get out.

How to get the US out of countries? It will take years.

Niger has started this BUT in Iraq (even though the people have said Get out) the Americans stay!

I want to talk about Leonard Woolf (and I suggest everyone who wants to understand Empires read this).

Leonard Woolf went out to Sri Lanka as a British servant. He went to many places in Sri Lanka and watched/learned what the British were doing. Eventually he was the first person who decried British rule and started Sri Lankan Independence.

Meanwhile his AWFUL wife Virginia (who you Americans think is Amazing) kept telling Leonard (her husband) to get these 'awful brown people out of her house.'

Leonard was the first person who managed to get 'brown people' into Queen Victorias court and she welcomed them with open arms.

She eventually tried wearing Indian/Sri Lankan saris.

I have one of the first books Leonard wrote about 'government by the British in Sri Lanka. It is a book about Empires.

IN my head: I have read Vriginia Woolf but knowing her history I loathe and detest her.

Even her writing is shit.

Look it all up.

Russia, China and Iran must have superpowers akin to psychic mind control.

So, why isn't Stoli the best selling beverage in the land? Why doesn't Iran use its Pied Piper-like powers to get a friendly congress elected? Why aren't students clamoring for the more dutiful study of Confucius and wearing the robes of Confucian scholars or Mao jackets or whatever?

Or it could be that the russiagate conspiracy theory was asinine on its face, but plenty of people still take it as an article of faith, so why not try it again and see if it works? Besides, nothing like a little class conflict...

I'm a 66 year old with no connections to a university since I dropped out in 1978 to play bass in a punk rock band. I never use tiktok, Instagram, or even Facebook (though I do wander into Substack and a few other places occasionally). I get most of my news from legacy media and "serious" websites...

Does that explain why genocide horrifies me? Or why, if my body were not so vulnerable, I'd be looking for the nearest group of "brainwashed university students" and asking them if they'd mind if I joined in?

It’s ok to use those platforms to mindfuck the masses. It’s not ok for them to be used to spread an unapproved message. It’s seems to be particularly incendiary when a certain group of people are exposed and called out.

I find it heartwarming that before they could ban TT these massive protests erupted. The youth got out in front it seems. 👍

What the universities (and by extension, the private equity firms putting us in endless debt slavery) are really afraid of is that young people will see that a university education is not worth it, nor are the bullsh!t jobs students are being educated for. Yes, the Deep State is under a relatively minor attack. However, the fact that they are reacting irrationally demonstrates their determination to stay in power. As I have said they are playing for all the marbles. Magic organisms, perhaps, capable of existence as free-living saprophyte decomposers and also as parasites.
