The goodthink NPR totebag liberals that claim to care so passionately about the environment ignore the fact that the United States military is by far the largest polluter on the planet.
I watched Earth’s Greatest Enemy several months ago and found it traumatizing. It’s highly motivating because it shows us how little time we have left to rescue our precious and delicate planet and all its inhabitants. The US military and the oligarchs who pull its strings must be stopped NOW, or our beautiful ecosystems won’t recover. We are perilously close to an apocalypse.
And Abby is the sweetest. I'd never met her before, but when I entered the venue and paid for my ticket she was there giving me a big hug. I was so honored to be seen by such a strong voice for justice. Brilliant film from a brilliant woman.
I agree with this review. I already knew many horrific facts about our military industrial complex. And yet, it was still a refresher on why it is a good idea to make opposing the military a large part of one's life's work. A must see.
I got to screen this film with a discussion with Abby herself. It's the most pressing issue of our lives and is a phenomenal documentary that needs to be promoted far and wide
To add but a footnote to what you've written, a couple or so years ago I came across something about the potential for mass migrations and resulting political instability and upheaval because people would be seeking to flee drought, crop failures, unsustaining lands. And I wondered how the U.S. military was anticipating all this, what sort of planning it was doing to minimize the toll.
Then I came across some article which gave an answer. It turns out our military wasn't at all planning on measures to mitigate the impending catastrophe, but instead was focusing on how to secure the resources - oil, ores, metals, etc. - we would need to keep the gluttony going, to hell with everyone else. For this the Pentagon probably awards medals and promotions.
Support Watermelon Pictures. https://MVforPalestine.org has organized three different screenings of their films about Palestine -- most recently the monumentally superb All That's Left of You. They are doing good work.
Great movie review. I certainly hope the film opens the eyes of many and encourages them to join the rest of us in tearing down the war machine. As the famous quote says: "War is not good for children and other living things."
Just heard about it two weeks or so ago. Time lines are important. Needs to reach larger audience; must build that larger audience first by refusing access while building desire. Yes, No, Maybe So? I want to watch it and I don't even have to while I start applying to venues who will show it in my small unmoving cattle of the majority community.

And Canada seems to want to help them out. https://yvesengler.com/2026/07/27/what-do-whales-think-about-canadas-100-billion-subs/
a vassal state. Not to mention subs are obsolete, replaced by drones.

Indeed and glad you realized but would you question why it took you so long and tell your story to others? War against the apocalypse!

Thanks for this column
I've been of similar thoughts since about 1962.

I’ll be sure to watch it. Your movie review was excellent.

Excellent review, Caitlin. I already have been thinking about it, but your review is telling me that I must see it.

Trying to get it into a venue near me.
I plan to watch Earth's Greatest Enemy, Caitlin and Tim. I've been waiting for the publication.
