It's so good to know that others can see what I saw on Oct 7. The organisers had all of Israel to hold their party, but the whole event was intended to taunt and humiliate Palestinians.

They were getting pissed and mooning Palestine.

Or, perhaps, they never even thought about them at all.

Sorry but that idea beggars belief. Poll after poll has shown that the great majority of Israelis support the assault on Gaza.

They knew exactly what they were doing and it was intentional.

What? Have you bothered to read or listen to people who understand intimately the general mindset of the Israeli population? If you had bothered, you would see an abundance of evidence that most Israelis, prior to 7 October, never thought about Gaza or the 2.3 million people locked up in a concentration camp for their entire lives. The simple explanation for the psychology of Israelis is that Gaza didn’t exist. It was expunged from their collective consciousness.

"Dance to the beat of the Pentagon Polka.

What could possibly go wrong?"

It already has gone wrong. Horribly, totally, terribly wrong. We've lost our consciences as human beings. We sit back and dance without a care in the world as to the suffering of our neighbors while the Pentagon polkas its way into another record-setting US military budget. Time to shut down this rave of inhuman violence once and for all.

The Revolution, "We've lost our consciences as human beings". Well said... You added: "We sit back and dance without a care in the world as to the suffering of our neighbors". which reminds me of an adage stating that: 'When they came for a stranger, I said nothing, and when they came for my neighbor, I said nothing, but when they came for me, no one said anything'.

Jenny,

Collectively, It's debatable we ever had a conscience.

Jenny,

If we had a collective conscience, we would not collectively be facing 15,000 nuclear bombs that threaten our existence 24/7. The U.S.A has yet to apologize for dropping two nuclear bombs on Japan almost 80 years ago. Moreover, it now has an arsenal of approx. 6,000 bombs, each as much as 1,000 times more powerful than those dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. By the way, the U.S.A. is a democracy, so to speak, and so from my perspective, the U.S. population has no collective conscience as to what happens when the shtf. You might disagree and think that we do have a collective conscience, but don't look up if or when one of those firecrackers comes home to roost.

I see what you are saying has the US ever apologised for anything? I guess the answer is NO. In that case you are quite correct.

At the present time (the collective conscience of the USA) is probably going to leave Europe to sort out the Ukraine mess while it moves onto Taiwan. You are correct but I also would like to point out that US has not been a democracy since Reagan because the 'collective conscience of the American people did not bother to vote?

On the contrary the Ukrainian Nazi debacle is designed to leave Europe in rot and poverty and unable to do anything except pay the U.S. protection money aka NATO “contribution”. Measured as a percentage on national income no less. That’s how gangsters work

Jenny,

By the way, there are now 9 nuclear armed nations ready to bring extinction to most life on Earth., and so the U.S is not alone in demonstrating the utter stupidity of our species. I'm afraid Homo Sapiens are 15,000 times more stupid than our nearest primate relatives, so let's thank GOD apes are not as 'intelligent' as we are.

The military industrial complex as protection racket reinforces itself for raging profits. WWI caused a plan to outlaw war and that scared the complex into permanent war mode. No one knows how to change the mode setting on human civilization and we are about to go critical as a runaway process.

You captured all the values of the colors of the whole god forsaken brokenness.

The experience of giving witness to it is analogous to that of the very young child on the top stair watching her father beat her mother bloody in the kitchen. Only, we are adults. with those feelings of fear, rage, helplessness. It is as though we are being forced to see the blowback of our refusal to see, register and respond creatively, exercise agency when the conditions present that can build and intensify and lead to murder, death and uncreative destruction. Wherever anti life forces are working. At whatever level. Isn’t there an “Israel” and a “Palestinian” in each of us? Dominance. Control. Entitlement. Savagery. Punitiveness. Rigidity. Arrogance. Fear. Vulnerability. Victim.Helplessness. Entrapment. Rage. Weakness. Heart. Heart benumbed.

Not that the genocide is new, but it drives home the mindless horror.

Devastating. I can hear the awful music! (Make it stop!)

Dr. Finkelstein points out (Al Jazeera interview) that the young people are still coming out, singing and chanting, all over the world; and there's this difference: in the movement for Civil Rights, we sang and chanted all the way to and inside of jail for our rights as human beings. Now young people are singing and chanting for the dignity and human rights of people in a concentration camp on the other side of the world. And they're blocking traffic at the corporate headquarters of the masters-of-war. Times are a-definitely a-changing.
