It's not "recapture" of Crimea, it's capture of Crimea. Crimea never belonged to NATO and the likes of Applebaum / Nuland / Blinken. It's just one more armed robbery of theirs under the guise of "helping Ukraine" (where Ukrainians have no power left).

Didn't the British try and take Crimea and it led to the "Charge of the Light Brigade" massacre?

Bono has been the least likable person in popular music since the 1980s, and is perfectly emblematic of the decline in the same since that period

He and sting. same trajectory - once they took themselves seriously, believing the hype, they went full smug. Tragic.

I can't stand Sting, either, but I don't think he's quite as self-righteous or as much of an asslicker of the power elite as Bono. He also has considerably more musical talent.

Just putting final touches on my comic opera, "I Truffatori delle Parole Bacciono il Culo Dei Facisti Moderni" (Word Scammers Kiss the Asses of Modern Facists). The only lyrics are those of war and perdition and no instrument plays any note pitched higher than middle C. Fart sounds substituted for those of explosive devices to tame the score so it won't injure the delicate ears of mainstream devotees of neoliberalism. Hope to engage Bono to sing the lead role of Gran Leccaculo (Big Ass-kisser)

If Bono is not available, hire Sean Penn.

Your idea reminds me of a scene in Fellini's Satyricon, a movie about the decadence of the Roman Empire in the times of Nero; a rendition of the work of Petronius.

"Gran Leccaculo" would be a great name for a new Ferrari for the ultra-rich.

I have said it before: if the establishment is good at nothing else, it is very good at determining whom to buy off, whom to co-opt, whom to neutralize, whom to ignore.

These would work for the stupid, greedy, and/or vain ones. For smarter types there's always blackmail. And "artists" usually have a rich past for intelligence services to hook into.

From the guy who resolutely sang “Sunday Bloody Sunday” many, many years ago. You can’t make it up.

The Atlantic... Isn't that the one holding onto the idiotic BS story about the zoonotic origin of SARS-CoV2, now all new and shiny with raccoon dogs? If you are in urgent need of toilet paper, make sure to have a copy of The Atlantic at hand...

Thank you again Caitlin : ) I look forward to your honesty and hard truth.

I know it's probably mentally unhealthy to be excited to see an email notice

of your new article but so be it. I'm not sure what that says about me ha.

Bono has always been gross...a "crusader for the poor" that lives in a mansion in Dublin's richest zip code, sends his kids fancy private schools and keeps his money in off shore accounts...typical

Yes Caitlin, you get to the essence here: manipulating all that's good in people to serve evil warmongering capitalist ends is truly evil. It sickens my soul, too.

I wonder: do the journalists who publish in The Atlantic take the time to proofread the nonsense they print? Frankly, the rant quoted by Caitlin sounds more like a CIA memo than an article written by a journalist worthy of the name.

I think I heard a BBC report in the wee hours this morning (US Pacific time) that the Norwegian press had solved the Nord Stream mystery. According to British Intelligence, it was the Russian Navy!!!!

Was I suffering audio hallucinations? hahahahahahaha!

No you were not, the RUSSIANS did it, they bombed (themselves) in ZNPP, they bombed the Nordstream and of course they 'bombed' the Kremlin (this 'banker' put out some money for drones to Moscow - these stupid ASSHOLES will get us all killed!! https://thegrayzone.com/2023/05/02/ukrainian-banker-cash-drone-terror-russia/).
