"In the west we think we're free because we can do what we want, not seeing that our rulers control what it is we will want to do."

What makes it even worse is that almost no one will ever even know the names of the people ultimately pulling the levers. Deposing every Biden that comes along is playing whack-a-mole with decoy targets. At least in an olden-days monarchy people at least knew who was controlling their fates, for good or ill.

Noam Chomsky describes how consent is manufactured by rulers. Even consent of free people to be ruled under authoritarianism.

Wide-ranging speech about:

Excerpt from book about:

Too bad Chomsky revealed himself to be a tool of the authoritarians when he demanded we all comply and consent to authoritarian pandemic policy. Going so far as to demand the unvaxxed be shut out of society and die in their homes of starvation. But he was once insightful. So there's that.

I read the book years ago and am watching this now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Li2m3rvsO0I

I was dismayed by his comments about the vaccines and the shocking ease with which he accepted their proposed efficacy on zero evidence, somehow convinced independent data were out there. Oh well. If I live to be as old as he is now I'll stop making sense entirely well before then.

These types of reversals from signature brands of independent thought that inspire us along our life journey give credibility to suspicions that there are many thought-leader "sleepers" in our short list of trusted "awakened's." Who build our trust by exposing parts of the schemes of the powerful, but who will do the bidding of those same powerful when called upon at pivotal moments in gaining the compliance of the skeptics and distrustful. Like a game where the player can tap one of his opponents pieces and make it one of theirs, exploiting a critical weakness in their opponent's defenses. Received by their true leader with a, "job well done" pat on the back while the leaders and team he betrayed are left stunned and slack-jawed. Chomsky. Among many.

Trump? I know Caitlin and others have their thoughts about him, his role. Which, at this stage could very well be. Hope springs eternal, though. As we prepare ourselves for any possibility, knowing that our freedom and liberty is up to us as individuals to protect, no hero seems likely to ride in on a white horse and save us. Our own discernment, resoluteness and faith in God will overcome the Leviathan that's been built around us whilst we slumbered.

Right!

Our own discernment, the most important gift God gave us. To function in modern society we must trust many others. For what they add to our shared existence and enjoyment of life. To be able to exist without constantly existing in fight, flight or freeze heightened states of anxiety. But we mustn't ever get so comfortable that we trust without applying discernment. And those in positions of authority, influencers on the exercise of our personal sovereignty require the highest levels of our discernment.

Those who say, "it's not about you, it's about helping others," as they demand your sacrifice have the highest burden of all to gain your trust. Always. Even in a crisis. Especially in a crisis.. Which is when authoritarians know our levels of discernment are most vulnerable to outside influence, the protection of the herd is a primal urge when facing a threat.

Which is why we must vigorously protect our executive level of cognitive functioning. Whether by evolution or creation theory this executive mind, our discernment, is why and how our species thrives at our best; being induced into our primal state is how our species degrades to our worst.

And lately they've had an easier time than anyone else securing that trust. It underlies Wokism, not coincidentally funded from above and expressly intended to sow chaos, not foment unity.

It's absolutely critical to know and communicate with others are watching people they care about start to uncomfortably withdraw, as that stings worse than the outright "eat shit, you disenfranchised [insert several immutable biological traits here]!" Have you heard of the Roman sanction of _damnatio memoriæ_? I suggest that the names, the identities of the people who pull the levers are better aggressively forgotten. Thus, their names and feats can't be recuperated and neutered into icons of performative transgression, as Che and MLK Jr. were, or worse, deified, like Caesar.

Should we be nervous about these thoughts? It seems to me that these labels have been given power in narratives that are intended to be disruptive - aka - to make us nervous! I’m sure I’m nervous! So what am I gonna do about it? -- Swim like I’m outrunning a shark!! Or worse, escaping drugs, escapism, Evil !!

We can talk about this for a minute!

But after about two minutes, we’ll be caught up, and some mundane duty of life will follow, like being soaked after rain. And then, there’ll be another day, when we have the chance to say more, if it might make a difference.

On the other hand -- I do not mean to be dismissive !

Speaking from that which I have gleaned from my experience and considerations, with the idea of protecting my stomach lining, the philosophy of fiscal (money) management seems to be totally screwed up! And the proof of that seems to have been confirmed on many levels, just in my three score and ten!

The ‘Good faith and credit’ of America’s monetary system is in disgrace because apparently the Uniparty has taken the ball and run from one court to another! Not just one end of the court to the other ! Good example - NBA feeding off the favor of the CCP to entertain the masses while their less than one percent amass fortunes by the hands of those who would once have denounced oppression and actual slavery. But not to be too provincial (or hypocritical) about oppression and slavery, our ‘security state’ has become the guarantor of status quo and Uniparty power to maintain control through elections, omnibus bills that DO NOT reflect the will of the people, and (non)regulation of the financial markets paralleling demise of the monetary system through unlimited printing of currency. It might have made Nixon nervous to contemplate this outcome, of the Federal Reserve system as opposed to the gold standard. But then, according to what we’re told, (again with transparency a real problem), China, with its hugh cache of gold, greedily amassing more every day, China/CCP, whatever, is a smoldering, seething mess as an economy. -- At this point, at least our cancellations are virtual, as opposed to the literal welding in of citizens in China.

So I think it’s fair to be a little nervous.

Tucker Carlson routinely interviews authentic independent minded guests that counter establishment narratives such as Jimmy Dore, Aaron Mate, Glenn Greenwald, Max Blumenthal, Michael Tracy, Colonel Douglas MacGregor, Jeffrey Sachs, Jackson Hinkle, etc. That seems very dangerous for controlled opposition.

Here's the thing. Tucker interviews a lot of people on the left and right. He also questions whether the CIA killed JFK, and also whether our fake elections are fake. If our fake elections are fake, then the whole system is fake, and he knows that.

Caitlin is good at questioning the U.S. empire's propaganda matrix. But sometimes, she apologizes for other countries that are literally engaged in genocide. She does this because she wants to keep the focus on the U.S. So, as much as I like Caitlin's work, I can't accept endorsing any genocide, whether it comes from the U.S., China, or the slave labor people accept in the Congo so they can have cell phones and electric cars.

I am not sure what genocide committing countries you are referring to. The word genocide is used quite loosely these days, I even heard one commentator recently referring to Russia giving free education to Donbas refugee children as evidence of genocide. Although to be fair, she was an American which might explain the hyperbolic use of the word when referencing any kind of state support.

Congo DRC is an interesting point and its turbulent history since 'independence' (I have put that in quotes because the DRC has never really been independent, like many post-colonial countries their 'independence' was contingent on the former colonies holding the purse strings and approving the 'democratically' elected leaders. Patrice Lumumba, Congo's first President was assassinated by the CIA using Mobutu as their henchman, in cahoots with Belgian secret services. He dared to threaten to exert Congo's independence and paid the price; 'Nous ne sommes plus vos macaques').

Foreign companies (Generally British, French and American, benefit hugely from a weak and unstable mineral rich country like the DRC as this makes it much easier to exploit. (This is why the US loved a weak Russia in the 1990's and now so hates Putin personally for ending such easy pickings. He nationalised Russia's energy sector which is blasphemy to the western globalists).

But to reiterate, the exploiters we are talking about here are primarily the US.UK and France. NOT China and NOT Russia. As one African leader recently said, 'The Europeans visit and give us a lecture, the Chinese visit and give us hospitals'.

China has ONE military base outside China (Djibouti, where everyone and his cat has a military base) Russia has likewise ONE outside former Soviet Union (In Syria, Latakia and a Naval base in Tarkus) By contrast the UK has 142 (68 of which are run directly by the UK they rent the rest to the US) and the US has 800 and counting. Who's threatening who?

Is China a problem? Is Russia? How many wars have either initiated recently compared to US/UK? Even the disaster in Ukraine was initiated by the US/UK, which is now well documented. Carlson's sinophobia is a confection based on an unhealthy US deep State obsession with US hegemony. Something that was cooked up and initiated by the British and then tutored to influential Americans at the beginning of the 20th Century, in order for them to take on the mantel of the world's dominant power serving common interests. It was a logical Geo-strategic plan as the British Empire was becoming an 'exhausted titan' (in the words of Joseph Chamberlain a 19/20th Century British statesman) and why the British and Americans always work in tandem to this day.

Job #1 for TC is getting viewers and likes and clicks. All of his “left” pronouncements tend to be irrefutable factoids that don’t get easily dismissed, but he never connects the dots and confirms “left” conclusions. He’s going to say that the Ukraine war is a proxy American war, but then he’ll steer the discussion to the hard time the Kremlin gives gays and trans people, and how the sadistic Chinese deny basic human rights to the Uyghurs. Both of these examples are also plausibly irrefutable, particularly when stated out of a broad context. And TC gets the viewers and clicks... which is the only context he cares about.

The liberal 'left' can then dismiss Jimmy Dore, Greenwald et al as pro-right wing conspiracy theorists (because they despise Carlson and those 'lefties' appear to 'collude' with him) and the the anti-establishment right can be persuaded into thinking that sinophobic Carlson is on their side and the side of 'freedom' because he reveals so much well documented truth. Someone asked on a thread, if inflation is so bad, why are peoples still consuming so much unessential crap? Perhaps generations insanely programmed to see consumption, owning the coolest new crap and looking the trendiest way, as a necessity to being worthy of social acceptance and yes, love.

Many just can't stop and have no idea why. As they continue on in debt, with 7 year car loans and 24% CC rates. It was in the 60's, when the first CC's arrived, that an NYU prof my bro had, said "Unsecured credit will bring the destruction of the middle class."

And then they poured on more of it every chance they got. The biggie, college loans. Unsecured by anything but Joe Biden, making them inescapable under bankruptcy. Just a hint: There's no longer a viable path using this system to reform itself and no, the revolution ain't happening either. Consider things will get worse and find allies to survive it as best you can.

"Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts...perhaps the fear of a loss of power."

-John Steinbeck

People who can get enough out of life via loving relationships, creativity, art and beauty and simply enjoying what there is in this world to appreciate, who thrive on learning and appreciate the joy of giving others the benefit of our experience, can never compete with those for whom there can never be enough.

Those who want power and aggrandizement, the avaricious who wish to show that they're at the top of the hill, think that everybody else who can get to the top of the hill, is like them. In this context, they're likely correct. And they're desperate to stay there, because they know that if they had their way, they'd do terrible things to permanently best their competitors.

Never mind all the rest of us, who do ok if not deprived of life's essentials, who only wish to live in mutually sustained, supportive communities. We don't even count. To the power seekers, we're just incidental to their score.

As a very successful ad exec told me, "No matter how warm and fuzzy any ad campaign you see appears, the underlying implications which are the consistent motivators, are greed, fear and envy." Not Gates or Soros, also billionaires and populist heroes. Yes Trump is a billionaire and I suppose to many has become a populist hero, but too bad she didn't mention that during his presidency the deep state was complicit with the democrats in trying to remove him from office. Now Musk is a multi-billionaire and Johnston by her statement makes him just another populist hero due to his enormous wealth, which has a very negative,  judgmental quality, and she says this even though he and Matt Taibbi are sincerely trying to find out whether the deep state used their influence on Twitter to make sure Hunter Biden's lap top story was seen as no more then Russian propaganda. Why weren’t Snowden or Assange pardoned? I’m the end he was more of the same but was a catalyst for some to awaken. Trump is not the answer to the problem of our current and long orchestrated reality. The “system” needs to be changed entirely- a change in how everyone “perceives” the world is necessary

It's not a question of whether or not you like Trump. It is not a question of whether he drained the swamp. It is not a question of his not pardoning Assange and Snowden. The issue is that the democrats in complicity with the deep state tried to remove him, an elected president, from office. I'm glad that Musk and Taibbi are looking into Twitter, and the influence the deep state exerted to push a Biden win. People in their dislike for Trump let the democrats off the hook and unfortunately so does the left, and I no longer have any regard for them. I agree the system needs to be changed, no argument there, but we do have a constitution to implement change. Also it certainly isn't enough to assume anything, and that is certainly true if you want to confront them and bring about change. Accusations alone are meaningless.

They even rigged an election to get him out after one term and select an old senile corrupt neocon to replace him, who is so incompetent that his neocon infested admin., refusing all negotiations with Russia, has led the world to the brink of nuclear apocalypse. Trump, meanwhile, has been calling for negotiations and an end to the war and for months. I hope all those Biden voters are happy now.
