I have it on my radar to write how magical our earth is — but how they’ve hidden that magic and given us musk fake satalites and fake nuclear weapons historical narratives. This line is beautiful: “We are swimming in an ocean of miracles.”

A fungus that eats radiation... If this isn't proof there is a Creator/Higher Power in the universe, I don't know what else does! (I hope we find a fungus or similar that eats war hawks and genocidal maniacs too one day.)
Beautiful and hopeful words we need to hear. The devastation in the world, Genocide in Gaza, bombs hitting Lebanon, Climate Catastrophe...hurts my soul. We need hope to be able to continue the fight to stop the Fascists and end their reign of terror. We need hope to help heal the Earth and All Living Things.
Subsistence farmers need good soil, reliable clean water, weather that will grow crops and not kill people, fuel for heat and cooking, and good shelter from the weather and elements, as well as the energy to sustain this hard-working life, and effective storage techniques. Salt and cooking oil also enter the equation. Communities of actual working and self-sufficient families are how this has been accomplished.
More important than ever that the search for justice continues! The work that the Hind Rajab Foundation is doing to track down and bring Israeli criminals to justice is one that is vital in the effort to hold Israel accountable. Let us hope they will also turn their sights on the criminal leaders of the countries of the west who are co-perpetrators of these crimes.
Yes thank you for reminding us to still focus on Palestine. I know of and receive emails from the Hind Rajab Foundation and have given to them in the recent past. I hope all these war criminals will be brought to justice.😢😪🇵🇸
Just got caught up on the “Anthropocene” debate within Geology. Epochs typically are ascribed in hindsight, but since they never really laid down any hard rules in that regard, yada yada yada. They’re having a hard time deciding where the Anthropocene really began. I’m kinda leaning towards the Industrial Revolution, but that’s tentative, even if it feels most right to me. Humans have been having an impact on the environment a while, though being the biggest impact has to be relatively new- last hundred or so years, methinks.
Do we ever need something g to worship, so why not fungi eating radiation? Or maybe a flower managing to find a crack through which to show, give nature free reign and she will give back pockets of beauty from the teeniest, tiniest opportunity.
