Let the name and memory of Aaron Bushnell be a rallying cry for peace

Expand full comment

I've reiterated numerous times in the past month, in this space and others, to friends, political foes, Israel apologists, America-first sheeple, and others that I absolutely reject my identity as an American citizen -- with deep embarrassment and with cold entendre toward the criminal US government . But no amount of my verbiage could possibly express that rejection like this singular act by Aaron Bushnell. While I know I should watch Aaron's sacrifice as a tribute to his bravery, I also recall my profound distress watching that Buddhist monk immolate himself during the Vietnam war, and I fear the depth of my own emotional response and the memories it might dredge to the surface further magnifying my hatred for what my country has become (or has always been). So I choose to cowardly refrain from watching. Nonetheless, I salute you, my brother in peace, Aaron Bushnell.

A beautiful article, Caitlin. The ending is magnificent.

"This is who we are."

And you can bet your bottom dollar that a small army of researchers are busily searching Bushnell's history and social media, seeking any pretext with which to discredit him.

"Aha!" the glib courtiers cry out "Aaron Bushnell misgendered someone in 2018. He is An Officially Sanctioned Bad Person and All Right Thinking People must ignore and formally denounce him."

And wait for the chorus of simps and simpletons, declaring that protesting Israeli atrocities is "inherently antisemitic".

n.b. I truly hate my autocorrect.

This might sound cruel, Caitlin, but I’m glad this stupendously brave gentleman has passed on. No one needs to live after being incinerated with the resulting pain and disfigurement. He has gone on to his greater reward and I hope he’s now residing in Shangri-la.

The bravery! The willingness to endure such pain! I personally could shoot myself in the head on the steps of the IsraHelli embassy ( and curse those steps so that my blood never washes off; Gypsy curses are very effective) but I couldn’t do what this incredible martyr has done.

I have actually considered this, but as you mention, Caitlin, the press would just say, Well, she suffered from mental illness (because I medicate for depression). I’m sure something of the like will be said of this brave airman.

It’s still not out of the question. Perhaps enough of such instances might actually draw the attention of the press, who are sure to sweep this one under the rug.

May this incredible soul rest in eternal peace.

Then there’s the absolute DUMBFUCK cop pointing a gun at him. I swear that’s the America I want to do away with…the moronic fucking idiot White America that I’d like to send into the Sinai along with Netanyahu and his band of Zionists.

If there’s one thing you can count on in US foreign policy, it’s blindness. They will not change course. They will pretend this personal sacrifice didn’t happen and stick to the only thing they know how to do: mass-killing oeople for profit.

Todays news:

“…Several Nato and EU members considering sending soldiers to Ukraine, Slovak PM says

Reuters reports that several Nato and European Union members are considering sending soldiers to Ukraine on a bilateral basis, Slovak prime minister Robert Fico said on Monday…….”

Now of course this is because the U.S. government is telling them to send their children to die in Ukraine.

So much for and idea that the this sacrifice will prompt any self reflection or a change of course.

But then again Snowden could have told you that up front, 10 years after he sacrificed the life he knew.

The hateful lies that ZioTurds are posting on social media in an attempt to discredit this brave soldier may damage Israel even more than the self-immolation protest itself!

The attempt to cover up this extreme act of protest by mossad trolls in Tel-Aviv cubicles and Psychopathic ZioTurd keyboard warriors will hopefully expose the Genocide better than anything so far. Perhaps South Africa will include the video in their legal brief to the ICJ?

I hope people pay attention to the message he was so desperate to convey. Free Palestine!

Aaron Bushnell's dedication is humbling. He decided to take on the pain endured by the Palestinians in Gaza and everywhere. Happy travels in that other place.

Psychopathic Zionists and AIPAC Stooges who think that burying thousands of women and children alive is funny will scoff at this extreme act of protest. But, if Bushnell's sacrifice causes enough people of conscience to act, the smiles of these evil jackals will quickly fade.

Elites tend to respond to citizens "carrying torches and pitchforks" more than they do to protests, no matter how extreme! Don't let the world forget Bushnell's sacrifice or message!

What a powerful piece. I have been trying to get people to make connections between Germany 1930 and the USA 2024. I ask them why "never again" only means the 6 million Jews who were cremated, not the millions more who looked the other way?

Everyone chooses sides. Even by not choosing a decision is made. Aaron Bushnell made the ultimate sacrifice for Palestine. Julian Assange is about to be Sacrificed by the evil Genocidal maniacs as well. Martyrs to be treated as the hero's they are. They acted to show the world the evil around us to call our attention to the atrocities. We should never forget Aarons selfless act. We should NOT allow Julian's Persecution. We need to bring the zionist Empires wars to an end NOW.
