Well, they couldn't really write "IDF fires at starving, unarmed Gazans who have been lured into lines for food" now, could they? Wouldn't want to get TOO close to the truth.

CK's avatar

Explicit photos would be interesting, too. Those helped to end the US invasion and occupation of Vietnam.

Landru's avatar

I think that's called expert sarcasm : ) Thank you for that.

CJ>>"The headline is written in such a passive, amorphous way that it sounds like the aid deliveries themselves are deadly. Like the bags of flour are picking up assault rifles and firing on desperate Palestinians queuing for food or something."

HaHa - that made me laugh! Thank you, Caitlin, I needed that in this dystopian time and the morose mood that I find myself in.

The MEDIA are EVERY BIT as COMPLICIT as Israel, the U.S. Empire, and Zionists are in the perpetration and support of this ethnic-cleansing and Genocide.

Media personalities complicit in this should also be held liable and brought up for charges in front of the ICC (though I'm not sure what good that will do).

Jeck's avatar

It would do an enormous amount of good

Chang Chokaski's avatar

The issue is that the ICC doesn't seem to prosecute people from 'Western countries' (as shown by the history of ICC prosecutions).

William Zannoni's avatar

In my humble opinion, they should be THE FIRST ONES to be held accountable.

Landru's avatar

Agreed, they enabled this within mins. So very true my friend, so very true.

Feral Finster's avatar

They know exactly what they are doing, and they know the truth full well.

They also know what kind of reporting will win you prizes, plum assignments, and off-the-record conversations with Serious And Important People, and what kind of reporting will get the editor pulling a long face and asking you to come into his office and shut the door, please.

Vin LoPresti's avatar

Exactly. Perfectly stated bottom line.

Contrarian 33's avatar

Chang.

"The MEDIA are EVERY BIT as COMPLICIT as Israel". Even more so.

With truthful media, I doubt that this whole sorry episode could have reached three weeks before Western governments would have had to call "stop".

I think the first ones to agree wth that statement would be the ethnic cleansing Israelis.

Landru's avatar

Thank you for those words of wisdom my friend. IF only there was a group of nations UNited to prosecute War Crimes and Genocide : (

CK's avatar

By design, the UN is owned by the USA.

Meanwhile Palestine Will Be Free reports that Israeli children are being trained to hunt "terrorists" in mock Palestinian villages, blurring the line between play and military indoctrination.

So the putrid excuse for reporting we get from the Times is commensurate with the putrid excuse for sentient beings we get from Israel. A match made in hell, but appropriate nonetheless.

Susan T's avatar

Just when I think I could not hear anything more disgusting than what I have already heard, you go and write this.

The Revolution Continues's avatar

It's unrelenting, isn't it? The actions of these Israeli terrorists are simply beyond evil. I don't even say to myself, "They can't get much worse" any more because they always top themselves.

David Baird's avatar

What I find so fucking amazing is the number of IDF warning shots that finish up in the heads of Palestinians.

Landru's avatar

Maybe they are the israeli Genocide Force? IGF

Vin LoPresti's avatar

Not me, Susan, I'm just passing on the writing of others. You can read details at

https://palestinewillbefree.substack.com/p/israelis-teach-children-to-hunt-terrorists-in-mock-palestinian-village

And you and I both know that if you scratch anywhere beneath the surface of that society, it's like opening a food container that's been rotting in the corner of your frig with bacterial and fungal decomposition. Better give up the container and toss it without opening because the stench, spores and potential infectious disease by contact is too daunting to go near it directly. If only we could just toss Israel. But alas!

CK's avatar

Vin LoPresti,

Excellent imagery.

Kathleen Grover's avatar

That’s quite possibly the best analogy I’ve seen. It’s appropriately vivid and something most of us can identify with.

denise ward's avatar

There is nothing the Israelis wouldn't stoop to to get what they want. Even their children they use as fodder.

Indu Abeysekara's avatar

Caitlin points out yet again how complicit the media is with the ongoing slaughter of Palestinians and the genocide in Gaza. Why else would they try to gloss over the Israeli and US new "hunger plan".

They are killing hundreds more Palestinians with implementing a new monstrous aid plan with starving Palestinians herded into cages by American mercenaries and shot at. Israel shoots, kills, and kidnaps Palestinian people seeking aid at these US run camps set up supposedly for food deliveries. As if they haven't starved and humiliated the Palestinians enough. We are confronting racism in its most ugliest and barbaric form.

Climate activist and humanitarian Greta Thunberg, who just set sail on the Freedom Flotilla boat to deliver aid to Gaza, captured exactly why this matters. "When we see the children of Gaza killed by Israel's war machine, their homes burned, schools bombed, and families destroyed, what kind of future do we have if we cannot stop this genocide today?”

The NYT lost its credibility a long time ago. It is another Zionist propaganda machine guilty of journalistic malpractice and bias to the extreme. This headline is a continuation in a long line of biased, morally bankrupt "reporting". The NYT is a joke.

Feral Finster's avatar

Most humans, especially those of influence and authority, continue to believe the NYT and other MSM.

pete king's avatar

I believe it's called "Confirmation Bias", and if it's the NYT that (more than likely, given its reach) created the bias, it's just one big Zionist circle jerk.

Feral Finster's avatar

It is many things. Bucking the Serious People Consensus leads to personal and professional difficulties. "Bartleby The Scrivener", it ain't.

By contrast, going along with the consensus allows a human to avoid those consequences and they can always tell themselves that they just did what was expected of a Good German at the time.

"Nobody ever got fired for buying IBM."

Jeck's avatar

The NYT is Satan's Pravda.

It is also Satan's butt-hole licker.

Hence that.

Luise Pearson-Bernoth's avatar

It is impossible to have too much disdain for liars like these editors, for sure. If they told the truth, would everyone act to stop the genocide suddenly? Is that the why behind the lies?

CK's avatar

They are ruled by profits and the fear of losing Zionist and fossil fuels industries advertisers. They avoid mentioning the oil fields of Palestine and other neighboring countries of The Levant. The British and American Empires have been waging wars for access to the fossil fuels of the Middle East for more than 110 years.

Sean's avatar

I'm shocked they're even bringing it up to begin with, since it's antisemitic to admit Palestinians exist, let alone what Israel does to them, which is blood libel and worthy of deportation, torture, and murder.

Kathleen McCroskey's avatar

With the veto of the resolution at the UNSC for a cease-fire in Gaza, this should be the last straw - convene the UNGA in "Uniting for Peace" mode and kick the former USA off UNSC, and strip the Zionist entity of its credentials.

Kathleen Grover's avatar

Exactly! The US has no legitimate place at the UN, nor does Israel. Both should be booked.

Soooooo (goddam) frustrating, this entire danse macabre....

Zionist propaganda is flooding Instagram and Facebook with lies, posting footage and falsely claiming Hamas is stealing aid and firing at starving civilians.

Let’s be real: why would Hamas expose their fighters in broad daylight, in front of IDF and U.S.-linked aid convoys, risking death or capture?

It makes no sense.

This is classic psychological warfare, weaponized disinformation to mask the truth.

The far more likely reality?

IDF forces targeting Palestinians, using chaos to justify mass killings under the false pretext of “security.”

People aren’t stupid.

The truth is breaking through the noise.

7thSignSoul's avatar

Shooting “near enough” to food delivery sites to MASSACRE SCORES Of INNOCENT, UnARMED, Non-COMBATANT, STARVATION VICTIMS ~ is more than RandomShotz

CK's avatar

The IDF snipers take great pride in their skills. They rarely ever miss their targets. They vehemently deny “accidental” shootings. Ditto for American snipers.

7thSignSoul's avatar

Craig Mokhiber ~ former United Nations (UN) human rights official (who left in in protest in 2023) and a specialist in international human rights law, policy, and methodology~ stated on Ei today, that over 100 Famine Victims have been slaughtered attempting to get food in this CRIMINALLY Depraved "Aid" Ambush.

The cruelty, barbarity and sheer evil of the suicidal Israelis will never be forgotten. When they are hunted down and killed like mad dogs they still won’t understand why. They are so brain dead, so emotionally numb, so unaware and intellectually as well as spiritually bankrupt (which shouldn’t surprise given their rejection of the essence and humanity of Judaism) that they’ll think that their deaths will be on account of “anti-Semitism”.

Feral Finster's avatar

They are not suicidal at all. They know exactly what they are doing.

Michael Buergermeister's avatar

I sincerely doubt that the vast majority of Israelis fully understand what they are doing. Otherwise they wouldn’t willingly and wittingly support their own self-destruction.

I think that only a minority of Israelis understand that October 7th was a false flag (despite the fact that Bibi told the Knesset that it is necessary to finance Hamas).

I don’t think that enough Germans understood what they were doing in the 1930s and 1940s (although a few did and even fewer rebelled). I think that the Israeli experience gives one an entirely new insight in what happened in Nazi Germany.

And it is not merely Israel: Billions all over the globe are thoroughly brainwashed on a daily basis. How many do research? How many have an “insider” take on things? How many know and stay quiet (those in the know almost invariably do)?

Feral Finster's avatar

I don't think that most Israelis think that what they are doing will lead to self-destruction.

The Revolution Continues's avatar

“Israel’s troops have repeatedly shot near food distribution sites.”

So how close is "near," NYT? Five miles away? Fifty yards? Five feet? Were the soldiers actively aiming at the tables where the food was kept? Or were they (most likely) shooting at the HUMAN BEINGS who were standing near the food distribution sites?

I swear these zy0 propagandists would have flunked out of Journalism 101 back in the day! We all need to remember these editors' names and make sure they never work in journalism ever again. Perhaps we can send them all to Gaza to help clean up the rubble to help out the HUMANS who were being shot at because of their zy0nist slant.

Alan's avatar

They must get extra points for killing babies and kids.

CK's avatar

The snipers get bragging rights. The heads of babies are more challenging targets for a single shot. Mothers get terrorized when the baby they are carrying gets a bullet through its head. From a long distance, the mother will hear the headshot before she hears the gunshot.

Justin Ungaro's avatar

I think we should start a campaign of flooding NYT in every way possible as "The paper that prints all the lies that's fit to print."
