As 2022 winds down and we approach the halfway point of President Biden's first term, it's probably a good time to talk about all the wonderful things he has done for the world and remind ourselves how bad it would have been if the election results had turned out differently in November 2020.
We'd probably also have a bunch of media-controlled Americans living in absolute fear of a virus that kills next to no one. In fact, they'd probably also get a vaccine that causes clots that are 10 inches long, and kills healthy people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s.
So, thank God for Jo Mama...er, His Fraudulency, the lifelong grifter, Joe Biden.
Indeed he is, Coco and they in their turn are stooges for the Israeli apartheid regime who for 55 years have killed thousands with US approval / funding / weaponry gifts and no action by the US puppet, the United Nations.
The specifics mentioned by Caitlin today are major items, no doubt about that, but if you delve deeper again into the voting record of Biden and his ilk, it is also somewhat frightening over a very time. Hey. The same goes for the once rightwing Republicans, now trailing in the rightwing stakes.
Full marks for your detailed research, Caitlin. One needs to see it in black and white. Most of the world has forgotten it thanks to the corrupted media.
There is no doubt that for a crass pubic servant like Nuland with her family connections and pathetic record to have survived her big mouth in Ukraine for example, shows that there is no cut-off point for anyone in the USA any more. How did the US survive the reign of the likes of Pompeo and Bolton, both of whom have probably gone on to great heights, career-wise. That's how it goes. There is NO limit to what Americans will tolerate. Then there's that despicable woman Clinton. Say no more. In olden days, she would have been a leading candidate for a one-way trip to Salem, Massachusetts.
Today a vote for one party is a vote for the other, all tarred with the same brush in 2022. Sadly, unlikely to change. You won’t see anyone decent like a Kennedy even putting on running shoes in the America of 2024. Not even a JFK could win a vote today.
So best get used to it. Wherever the 55% of people who even bother to vote in the first place decide to throw their vote in 2024, no decent applicant, whatever his name or qualifications, can fight their way through the deadly sludge that is now the US political climate.
Caitlin's attention to detail confirms that whatever party, in the two-party system, in the not very United States comes to power, we'll get dished up the same old shit.
My mate and colleague Professor Guy McPherson refers to the two-party state as "The Twin Cheeks of the Same Corporate Asshole"
Bang on! Only those who have been immersed in BS up to their nostrils since birth buy the crap the US government peddles daily. Biden was selected by the DNC because they knew he would do what he was told. Iraq was his test of fire and he was inflammable. He and the grandstanding Blinken cheerled that invasion. What a legacy. And he has delivered, so to speak.
"Only those who have been immersed in BS up to their nostrils since birth buy the crap the US government peddles daily."
I, for one, am willing to admit I was immersed in their bovine fecal matter up to my nostrils for more than half of my life. WAS!!! Until about November 2006.
We have a choice to stay there for the rest of our lives, or to get out and smell the coffee instead. That takes courage. More courage than the majority has.
After voting in every possible election that I could over the last 30 years - always for the D's - I stopped voting permanently in 2020. In fact, my state allows voters to rescind their voter registration and I did just that.
In 2020 I was disgusted to see that a doddering old Mr. Magoo who was openly promising nothing more than the status quo and "nothing will fundamentally change" was celebrated as the "best" nominee for the Dems. Republicans are hot trash and no way will I vote for them either. Additional parties and candidates are basically outlawed in the U.S.
As a parent, I'll NEVER forgive Dems for forcing public schools to close for 1.5 years during the coronavirus. Dems fucked us parents and our children's educations over - with disastrous long term consequences, just to appease their big teacher union "donors" but pretended they did it to make us all safe.
So I don't participate any more. I've given up. Done. If there were a revolution, I might join in again but this will never happen because Americans will never be allowed to rise up and effectuate any meaningful changes for the better.
This has been the default behavior of every Democrat in the WH since Bill Clinton succeeded the first Bush. The latter was mocked for his “read my lips: no new taxes...”. , but not only did the duplicitous Clinton lower the taxes, he then raised them for a minute then lowered them to a level below what either Bush or Reagan had sought. And to prove to his Wall St and corporate benefactors that he could be trusted, he presided over bank deregulation that led directly to the 2008 economic meltdown.
Then the law professor from Chicago who campaigned on his opposition to the illegal invasion of Iraq succeeded the 2nd Bush, and not only did he opt to not prosecute the conspirators named Cheney, Wolfowitz, Liddy, Powell and Tennant, he then doubled down on the unwarranted, unprovoked aggression, becoming a commander-in-chief with a penchant for deportation of desperate illegal aliens, and deployment of drones to kill designated enemies of the state, of ANY national origin. Oh, and he didn’t raise the taxes...a point that has sealed the fate of the DP as feckless and corrupt as its Republican twin.
So Joe Biden is a predictable soldier of a faceless power that exists only for its own sustenance. And to be clear, Trump has been little more than a useful distraction, not so much a soldier as a pawn, but he did serve the same master as Biden serves. And Trump lowered the taxes to an obscenely low level, and even though the “liberal” Biden did undo that, taxes are still ab oligarchs wet dream. This is the profile of an illegitimate regime that its subjects largely hold in reverence.
"This has been the default behavior of every Democrat in the WH since Bill Clinton succeeded the first Bush."
Correction: This has been the default behavior of every POTUS and VPOTUS since 1924. The Council on Foreign Relations was created in 1921 at the behest of the Banksters in order to control public opinion. Every politician elected from 1924 and after have been CFR members.
While JFK was a CFR member he was the notable exception with regards to said behavior. We all know where that got him. Taking him out was a clear message to everyone with POTUS ambitions in the future to not step out of line.
I lived in the US from 1978 to 1991, and by 1982 I threw my TV out. In 1983 I bought a short wave radio so I could listen to the BBC to get some honest news. Note that the BBC went through a major change in 2000 and 2001. That's when they "got with the program", so to speak.
I take it for granted that most people reading this remember that BBC's Jane Standley reported that the Solomon Bros. building (better known as WTC7) had collapsed 4:55PM local time. The live feed was cut only a couple of minutes prior to the collapse at 5:20PM.
The CFR didn’t keep FDR from creating a national bank to facilitate home ownership for the working stiffs. It didn’t prevent LBJ from pushing through landmark civil rights legislation, that has been effectively undermined by a captive SCOTUS. The CFR had no bearing on JFK’s decision to ignore his trigger-happy generals who advised bombing Cuba when the built-to-fail coup pointed toward escalation. Allen Dulles, who was a member of the CFR, is believed by Oliver Stone, based on a lot of recently released findings, to be the architect of the failed coup and the loudest voice promoting an overwhelming attack in response. Not coincidentally, Dulles sat on the Warren Commission. All of this is to say that the CFR has neither the legal nor statutory weight to control the behavior or policies or leanings of elected officials or the institutions they occupy. Before Clinton, the DP was not a tool of corporate greed. It promoted labor union membership and courted popular vote to advance small “D” democratic representation. It faced an existential problem in that it’s lack of corporate monies suggested that the WH was going to be the permanent home of corporate-boot-kicking Republicans. If you see Jimmy Carter’s presidency as a Watergate-triggered anomaly, no Democrat after LBJ gained the WH before slick Willie pulled the DP into the corporate sphere.
Anyone that actually think the DC crime syndicate is any different on either side of the party system has chosen the path of a convenient useful idiot.
Over the last 35 years, I concur. My point is that there was a moment when representing voters’ concerns was a serious, ethical and possible course of action. There may have been an inevitability regarding money’s corrupting power, but there COULD have been a moment when the Supreme Court ruled that the Constitution could not survive the onslaught of a politicized corporate agenda. If that road had been taken, Bernie Sanders would be a moderate, and Donald Trump would be seen for the ass-hat he has always been.
I also commonly claim '92 as a major turning point, only to be schooled on the long road that came before. But these "points" are subjective and relative.
There is also a case to be made for 1949, Dulles, and the birth of the CIA as a turning point.
So ideals fall in some order or randomly.
But the systemic capture of US democracy by plain private interests is certainly a big event, and I still say we have it right in 1992.
"The CFR didn’t keep FDR from creating a national bank to facilitate home ownership for the working stiffs. It didn’t prevent LBJ from pushing through landmark civil rights legislation, that has been effectively undermined by a captive SCOTUS. Not coincidentally, Dulles sat on the Warren Commission."
I never said any of that. The CFR does not micro manage world events, or even domestic US events. It isn't an alphabet agency. It's, as I'm sure you know, a think tank. There is no denying the CFR's nick name: The REAL State Department.
The CFR is responsible for making plans that have kept "developing countries" exactly at that stage. Developing. They are responsible for the thought in that exists in the heads of most of the population in the western hemisphere, namely that "third world countries are unable to manage themselves. They need us to see to it that they don't slip back into the stone age."
This is how the powers that shouldn't be manipulate us so we won't feel bad about them stealing the natural resources in the so-called Global South.
First the Banksters created the not-so-federal Federal reserve System in 1913. This way they had control of the legislative branch. Remember Mayer Amschel Rothschild's infamous quote: "Give me control of the issuance of a country's currency, and I care not who makes its laws."
Then they created the CFR 8 years later to get control of public opinion (as stated above). They have had full control of every election since then.
The final nail in the coffin was hammered in on 11/23/1963. That's when they hijacked the executive branch, and thereby the judicial branch since POTUS appoints judges to SCOTUS.
I recommend a book called "Tragedy and Hope" by Carroll Quigly. He was given access to all the CFR's archives. The management at the CFR understood too late what a mistake that was. Now the CFR's secrets are all hidden in plain sight in said book.
Loved it! Back in 2020 when I predicted that Biden would just be Trump 2.0, I was viciously trolled as a Trump Lover, kinda like Caitlin Johnstone....LOL. This article is wonderfully written. No one could have done it better.
How could you compare Biden to Trump? When Trump left office no war with Russia, which no doubt would have begun under Clinton had she won, and that neo-nazi sh*t, and Trump, well just think of it as akin to Russia-gate and him paying whores to piss on Obama's bed, but Obama and Biden did partner up with the neo-nazis in a coup in Ukraine.
I'm for the wall, and so was Biden when it was to his political advantage to declare that he was. Now, no wall he declares , since he is not xenophobic like Trump, and maybe the democrats will get all of their votes. Doing Ancestry I've seen thousands of ship manifests for those who came through our coastal borders. They demanded information, and no one complained that they did, but no control over our contiguous borders someone said back when. I don't think that omnibus bill that no one read would be something Trump would have pushed, and when Nancy was confronted by a republican with some bravado who said it was a disgrace, skinny, old Nancy replied, "WHAT ABOUT JANUARY 6th?" So was Biden, just Trump 2? l don't think so, since Trump knew where he was going when he left a stage, and didn't look like he had someone else's teeth.
Glen Greenwald did and article in the intercept (he quit them because the intercept was infiltrated and now another corporate mouthpieces for the status quo) the article named Obama killed a 16 year old in Yemen Trump just killed his 11 year old sister..
Greenwald left the Intercept because they refused to allow him to publish an article on Hunter's lap top which implemented Biden as well, since the Intercept was obviously supporting a Biden win and lost their journalistic integrity during Trump's years in office. The 16 year old killed during one of Obama's many drone strikes is what he wrote about, and he and many did. Trump did not kill his 11 years old sister.
"Obama officials decided to leave the choice to Trump. The new president personally authorized the attack last week. They claim that the “main target” of the raid “was computer materials inside the house that could contain clues about future terrorist plots.”
Trump could have halted such a heinous act but he was not smart enough to know better despite all his ego bluster he's no savoir or playing any 3d chess. He's a reality show host over his head...but I would still like to see him win against the democrats just to see them loose because at this point I would like to see the whole DC crime syndicate burnt to the ground.
Authorized what attack? I just don't get your first paragraph. As far as Trump is concerned, well, I didn't vote for him, and a number of his political positions I did not support, like his sanctions, which I think should be considered a war crime. I didn't support his overturn of the Iran deal, but many of these things were supported by the democrats. What made me despise the democrats was there concerted effort to illegally remove him from office based on lies, and no one has been held accountable. I hated the press, and many left wing sites who lost all sense of journalistic integrity. I hated all the lies told about him, and defining those who voted for him, as a meme said on Facebook, they're an immoral and ignorant lot. The democrats did much to create a divide in this country and foster hate between those who hold opposing views. They turned the riot of Jan 6 into an insurrection and no doubt when all is known maybe even helped organize it, or at least the most damaging aspects of it. I saw the police let in hundreds through the front door. Then for months they held the Jan 6 comm, which in by book is totally unconstitutional. Now they are over seeing a war in Ukraine that could go nuclear which began under Obama who supported a coup in 2014 and whose driving force were neo-nazis. and all to bring Russia down. To hell with them forever. This doesn't mean I'm a republican either.
What ever happened to realpolitik? "Strange bedfellows" and all that? This was a staple of the art of politics and democracy. Now gone. But in that spirit, I cheer any entity that can slow down even momentarily, the juggernaut of neo-liberal WEF world domination.
Trump was just as guilty of war crimes as Obama...I don't think Trump would have done those things without interference from the usual suspects in DC though.
His backing Israel right or wrong made him no different than Obama in my eye.
There is no tune to change..both of them are war criminals and anyone who automatically thinks if your not one you have to be the other does not understand what's going on.
Picking a side to fight is the creation of the establishment mind control game...trump is no savoir,, he's just another rich asshole...maybe he's not as bad as some but I put no faith in the guy to "save" the nation or anyone else...
Obama is a full out psycopath con artist shill and I have never hated a government officials more for the simple fact is he portrayed himself as sacrosanct while being such a phoney.
Trump is just another product of the main stream corporate culture of dorky douchebags I have always despised.
He's no better just less a horror show than the rest of them.
Despite all that if he was left to do as he pleased he would have never got us into a proxy war with Russia,, but then again he's under the constant control of the chosen swamp monsters.
I am no longer participating in this political shit show anyway..it's too beneath me at this point.
"Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule -- and both commonly succeed, and are right."
Of course, on the plus side for Biden, he's helping woke Joseph Mengeles cut off little boys scrotums, and chop off confused teenage girls breasts. Biden has always been good at exploiting normal teenage identity questioning--it's a human stage of development--and exploiting it to cause enough mental damage that he can acquire another lifelong voter.
Hey, Caitlin! I don't know how you did it, but you read my mind! Nothing has fundamentally changed--again. (And it's this week's blog title at The Revolution Continues, too.)
May 2023 bring about some fundamental changes FOR THE BETTER.
I have long been cynical, and would never have considered voting for either Trump or BIden, but even I have been surprised at how little difference there has been between the policies of the Biden and Trump administrations.
Trump took his pro wrestling heel shtick all the way to the white house. Now somehow the whole world is stuck in this much less entertaining trickle down pro wrestling alternate universe. Had to look up kayfabe the other day...medical expertise, democracy, social media: what isn't anymore? What Isn't Any More...
This one was a masterwork, Caitlin. Amazing work!
The Grifter JOE. Who keeps on getting and NEVER giving.
His best days are long behind him, and his best days were never very good.
How very true.
Who is a duplicate of Trump.
10 inches? Sheeeet, some of these things are several feet long and have multiple appendages.
Resident Biden. He is a puppet for Nuland, Blinken et al.

Another one: Trump wouldn't have eased sanctions against Cuba.
I foolishly hoped that a Biden administration actually would do this. More fool me.
Now imagine a face of your Bidenite relative/acquaintance when presented with this list. How blank will their stare get?

The idea was you sort out your differences later.
Trump was just as guilty of war crimes as Obama...I don't think Trump would have done those things without interference from the usual suspects in DC though.
His backing Israel right or wrong made him no different than Obama in my eye.
If you think that way google Obama and the wars he supported, or took place under his watch and you'll change your tune.

BUT! No more mean tweets... so on balance, Biden is a win?
As @James Corbett of @corbettreport.com once said: "Twitter can be boiled down to three words: I HATE YOU!!!"
Hmm. I thought it was "nyeah nyeah, nyeah!"
When the senile hologram said "America is back!" back in January of 2021 I almost shit my pants because I knew instantly what he meant.
....., and the reason Killary was so upset about loosing to the orange clown is that the Ukraine thing was delayed by four years.
Well, what part of "We Wanna Go Back To Brunch" did y'all not understand?
I have long been cynical, and would never have considered voting for either Trump or BIden, but even I have been surprised at how little difference there has been between the policies of the Biden and Trump administrations.
Trump took his pro wrestling heel shtick all the way to the white house. Now somehow the whole world is stuck in this much less entertaining trickle down pro wrestling alternate universe. Had to look up kayfabe the other day...medical expertise, democracy, social media: what isn't anymore? What Isn't Any More...
