These guys are dreaming if they think Russia will play footsie for that long. Fantasyland stuff. Ukraine will be outta men by then, the women all will have departed. There will be nothing left to save or defend. The idea the ukes are gonna push Russia outta crimea is more fantasy. Are there no grownups in the American defense establish? To ask is to answer: nope.
I think you're both wrong. Many Ukrainians no doubt want Ukraine with its former borders back--but Crimea is not going back. Zelensky is having fun jetting about the world being feted and setting up new venues for corruption. The west doesn't care whether the Donbass goes with Russia or the Ukraine--what they want is to hamper Russia with a war to delay the loss of US hegemony. China is the real "enemy" (rival) but Russia could be a key ally to China so they want to weaken it. And to keep feeding the MIC. They've already accomplished the other objective, to hand the European gas market to US gas companies instead of Russia. For the US and its allies, dragging the war out for years is what they DO, it's the normal state of affairs for the US--in a way this war is the best ever since they don't have to lose US soldiers and thus get domestic opposition ramped up that they have to repress. It only costs money, which they count as a plus since feeding the MIC is a key objective.
Well of course the China is the one behind the mischief, they own the Manchurian pretender but they’ve been working on this insanity for YEARS. The Generational Theory appears to a confident, not necessarily a predictive, but rather as a kind of “confidence builder” because the current situation borders on insanity... No rather it is insanity. But in order to obtain a consensus to go along with this suicide pack they depend upon these bits of confirmation or a kind of “The devil made us do it”... Which contains more truth than many are willing to admit.
Maybe, but doubtful this proxy war has as much to do with Ukraine, as it is about the Fourth Turning... This Howe/Strauss Generational Theory has some very heavy hitters who are adherents. Steve Bannon, for one and then “On December 18, 2007, William Strauss died at the age of 60 from pancreatic cancer. Neil Howe continues to expand LifeCourse Associates and to write books and articles on a variety of generational topics. Each year Howe gives about 60 speeches, often followed by customized workshops, at colleges, elementary schools, and corporations. Neil Howe is a public policy adviser to the “Blackstone Group”, senior adviser to the “Concord Coalition”, and senior associate to the “Center for Strategic and International Studies”. In July 2023 Howe released a new book, titled The Fourth Turning Is Here.” The focus a key aspect of Strauss and Howe's theory: "the idea that every 80 years American history has been marked by a crisis, or 'fourth turning', that destroyed an old order and created a new one”. If anyone has failed to notice the Fruit-loops we have installed. Elections have consequences... Stolen elections have even greater consequences.
As far as the US - of course. But Russia couldn't care less about the US' internal problems, or rather it shouldn't. A large number of corrupt figures there do, and that's been a problem that helped create the situation. But now the situation helps weed them out.
It's a global cleanup time, but at the cost of numerous human lives. Nothing new.
I believe that Putin said, a few days ago, that Trump being elected president would not change a thing regarding Ukraine. That's true, IMO, because the prez of the moment does not really run things like that. At most, IMO, they get to happily implement things which make life worse for American citizens in general, but more profitable for the rich. A bipartisan uni-Party on that score, festooned with ornamental "progressives" in order to keep those votes and contributions flowing in on a sea of delusional hope..
Indeed, but it seems things like that are always being understood by people having reached advanced age when they're no longer in a position to act upon that knowledge. By that time the younger, zombified generation is the engine steered by the rulers.
And then the cycle repeats. The question is why life is set up like this.
If Trump had a fair election he would be President but Putin would have never turn down a deal after Mr. President Drill baby drill! Handed the price of a barrel of oil to the open market below $45.00 a barrel, a franchise fully developed share of the world market, ushering in a new age of production and true prosperity without requiring a drop of Russian blood or sacrifice of American honour.
The Fourth Turning™ is only as relevant as the people who walk around on stage. Behind the scenes those doing the string pulling know that Uranus, planet of community building, innovation, activism, technology returns every 84 years.
Uranus is also the ruler of Aquarius. Before this is dismissed as astro-snowflakery, bankers use these 'turnings' for enhancing their boom and bust cycles and (the Vatican's) control in general. (The priest class is with us every step of the way.)
We're as affected by these cycles as we are the lunar cycle and the day-night cycle. Uranus just happens to be the closest to Earth in its 80+ cycle 2030/2031.
True but it is the “Priest” class of foreign policy that has taken much of this to heart, the shakers and movers that have these theories baked into their think tank... It becomes some much more than just esoteric. Rather, what Dr.Kissinger calls, the problem of self full-filling prophecy.
Those "priests" are actually the MC's of THE SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN on their HIGHWAY TO HELL ... while posturing as and believing (KISSINGER-like) to be "the enlightened ones".
Yes, and it's the external show that they are putting on for those who only have external eyes.
They appear to take whatever is getting the biggest reactions online and creating/manipulating the headlines, stoking it. We're quite literally implicit in its creation.
Self-fulfilling prophecy alright. No argument there! We're creating external 'Fury' instead of tending to our peaceful internal world.
Here are two summaries of the spirit that is the actual driving force of THE SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN/THE DARKNESS... while posturing as and believing being "the enlightened ones".
The generational theory is an attempt at building an American myth, so who cares. The CSIS affiliation is a dead giveaway. All think tank fellows are pathological liars.
"All think tanks are pathological liars." ... which is why they EVENTUALLY fall for their OWN SELFSERVING, SELF-FULFILLING, SELF-DESTRUCTING LIES ... self-fulfilling prophesy all over again!
Understand money is a powerful incentive, the illuminati will forever cling to that lever, but there are older, deeper, understanding of power... Honour, and basic instinct to survival, and to know that there is that head spring of the Almighty and these are those things that are at the very heart of our civilization. These are the domain of the nobles of Free Masonry.
I don’t think so, and it’s not the membership of the Illuminati that are calling the shots as I’ve been observant. I think, tho cannot prove, the turning is made by those of the Grand Lodge. Ppl often get the two confused, but they’re two very distinct lines. One being formed during the birth of the American Revolution and the other more ancient claims are made... At the moment, it is those artisan of Free Masonry that have taken and are moving towards their always stated goal of peace and brotherhood.
I'm guessing the US sees the Russians as playing the long game and at least some of the leading factions are worried about it; hence the panic about Trump.
The sociopaths I have known personally (not many) usually seemed to want a fast payoff, but since we're talking about nation-states, I suppose you're right.
Some are amoral because they have been trained to be so by their families or communities. A common type are people who believe it is all right or even virtuous to harm members of certain other ethnic groups. However, normally for human beings to get along efficiently they have to have some instinct or concern for the feelings and interests of others in their vicinity. People who lack this instinct or sense are actually mentally deficient and their condition can be dangerous for them because of the likelihood of reprisal. I think the latter are true sociopaths. Those that I have noticed need to compensate for the deficiency in order to stay out of trouble. These are the people I think tend to desire a quick payoff because for them any attention paid to others is a cost. Consider as examples people in capitalist or bureaucratic business management where a certain amount of controlled psychopathy can lead to short-term success but becomes problematical later. Hence the proverb "Move fast and break stuff."
Nothing left of Ukraine? Makes it a perfect situation to locate New Israel there. You don't think this is a perfect situation for the Khazarians to waltz right in and set up shop in their old stomping grounds?
I think we can assume that Europe remains in a colonial relationship with the US; therefore, if a European politician or leader says something like "2030", it was probably written by some representatives of a dominant American faction. If so, it would not be a policy proposal but a trial balloon to see what the American people, especially the powerholders and bigdeals, will put up with. My first guess would be the war industry, but there are centrifugal forces loose in the US and must be dealt with in some way.
"If those who support aggressive war had seen a fraction of what I've seen, if they'd watched children fry to death from Napalm and bleed to death from a cluster bomb, they might not utter the claptrap they do." - John Pilger
No country can be really well prepared for modern war unless it is governed by a tyrant, at the head of a highly trained and perfectly obedient bureaucracy." Aldous Huxley
"Propaganda is as powerful as heroin; it surreptitiously dissolves all capacity to think." Gil Courtemanche
"When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic." Dresden James
War is profit and our keepers are profiteers: to them, war is as natural as breathing. Canada just hosted Zelensky, who thinks we are all as stupid and mendacious as our prime minister, and the prime minister in waiting, the one with the Nazi provenance, and she won't have to wait long. Zelensky wheedled more money out of us, some $650 millions, claiming we have the Russians on the run. Only the dumbest people in the world would believe that.
Hilary Clinton and Penny Pritzker will help Blackrock and JPMorgan pillage whatever is left of Ukraine. Check out Dan Rathers substack if you want to see broken brained boomers push for another forever war, cuz democracy!
Moscow isn't going to allow that. Anyone foolish enough to invest in Ukraine right now is going to get burned very, very badly. That includes Blackrock and the Clintons. I will be very happy when it happens, too.
Once Putin leaves office, some Russian oligarch will waltz in and aid the Israelization of Ukraine. Ukraine will be raped and subjugated. Are we going to stay there and throw tons of money down the woodchuck hole so Israel can take over? Yes! RFK Jr. is pro-Israel, don't expect him, were he to become President, to obstruct an Israeli takeover. Poor, poor little Israel, let's send 'em more US taxpayer money......
Assuming you are talking about THE Dan Rather, he is not a boomer. Not close. I am a boomer (not proud to admit that, given my generation's legacy) and he is contemporary of my late father. They used to dig ditches together for Humble Oil in east Texas back in the 50s before he went into broadcasting. True story.
Dan Rather was born before 1945, so he's not a "Boomer". And you have to remember that the nickname "Baby Boomer" covers about 20 years or so--so the younger persons born in the early 60s are also "Baby Boomers." Just call people like Dan a war hawk and stop throwing his age group into it. A lot of Baby Boomers wore peace signs and protested the Vietnam war. I did as a child anyway.
These are neco-cons in sheepish liberal clothing… Understand what we are up against. The fact that their effort to hide behind woke media liberal guilt is a deception. We confront the full might of the Administrative State, allied with the Military/Industrial complex, combined with international corporate finical structure of the World Bank, and International venture capitalist, with their hedge fund managers in Stock Markets around the world… We have one tin solider w/finger in the dam of the single largest social platform. We have talk radio, and we have the numbers… But we confront long odds. I saw Barry O’bummer’s ad for everyone to come to Chicago for their drivers license, and then and ad for everyone in California with a drivers license come vote, followed by the mail in early Democratic vote drive. They just need the driver’s license and with their O’Bummer Phones will receive their marching orders… Believe me, they are not planning to loose. And all I hear on talk radio, and social news outlets is the “Normals” bitching and complaining how unfair, duel justice, bitch and complain… I promise you all if we do not wake up and learn to get organized now to engage fire with fire, their gonna eat our lunch, while we are left eating bugs.
I agree they are Neo-cons in leftist sheep clothing, but they want us eating their animal products and burning fossil fuels for along as they possibly can. The Gates empire may then take over with his patented burgers, fruit and veg and control of seeds (protected by Vandana Shiva and others for now). which can be grown in labs once the environment is too hostile. The Neo con see war as a business opportunity and create markets but the senile and dying US empire is buying into it with everything it's got left.
They will certainly try to do that. I don’t think that these countries are up for that though. They are not as supine as Germany is, for example.
I do think however that there may come a point when they try to introduce American troops into the area. Nuland and the rest of the State Department psychos are that crazy.
I know the Polish mentality well. Too many Poles would gladly slit their own children's throats if that meant that an American would pat them on the head and call them a good dog. That goes double if their children's deaths would somehow spite Russia.
If you think that was hyperbole, look at how Poles embraced the literal direct biological and ideological descendants of the very people who so gleefully murdered their grandparents.
One thing there's little doubt about - it's going to keep escalating as the population in Ukraine is not limitless. And the new participants will have to be NATO members.
> The Vietnam and Afghanistan wars were both 20 years long, both lost.
>Economic indicators for the West are poor and America's debt has just hit 33 trillion.
> As long as NATO is waging war Western democracies are going to be slaves to war as they have been for decades. America is going to put even greater pressure on its NATO member states to pay its bills.
> As long as there is war in Ukraine a second front against China is impossible.
> Many analysts are saying NATO's ability to fight a sustained war is not there and never has been- it is just a huge bureaucracy populated with too many generals.
> Russia has proven it is prepared to fight a long war and has the industrial base to maintain war, It also has China covering its back.
> As long as the West is waging war the collapse of empire is accelerated, inflation spirals and domestic economics continue to collapse.
> It should be obvious by now we can't allow the loonies to run the asylum.
On both counts Vietnam and Afghanistan you’re watching the wrong squirrel... Sure the American people lost husband, sons, and daughter... The Tree of liberty demands the blood to feed its roots, but the real winners, Raytheon, Siemens, Lockheed Martin Corp., General Dynamics, Northrop... Made a fortune. Why did they leave that 4th largest military machine abandoned in Afghanistan... “Don’t worry we make more!” Straight out of the American Taxpayers Pockets.
I am just about to start writing a blog on the subject of NATO as a military junta ruining the West and what you say is the key element. We are all slave states to the empire's wars and are being sucked dry by the MICC.
Lockheed Martin's profits have jumped 35% since the Ukraine war started. Canada is going broke but we have just purchased 88 billion dollars (life of contract cost) worth of F35 JSFs . The first of these won't be delivered until 2026 and the last until 2034. The last I heard the F35 program has cost 1.3 Trillion dollars and the plane has over 500 deficiencies still to be corrected.
The Gerald F Ford, America's newest aircraft carrier comes in at 37 billion and construction took so long it was put into active service and is still under construction on the high seas.
I agree, that's how escalation works, the slow bleeding and then the death panic.
We in the u.s. would cheer our troops in Ukraine if they had sent them early, now I'm not so sure. People here still think Ukraine is winning why else would we be sending 100's of million a month to Ukraine. I work in a national lab, which is truly a global citizenship and still find people from the u.s. the least informed.
The irony here is that Kremlin regime was (and largely still remains) a pro-western, pro-globalist and compliant power. But the West portrayed it as a scary Russian nationalist regime bent on expansion of the Empire and started creating a number of bulwarks on Russia’s borders. If there are better ways to convert Kremlin in a nationalist regime bent on expansion in order to survive and ensure safety, I fail to see any.
That it "largely still remains ..." is the problem. That gives the west hopes there won't be a tough response and allows it to extend the experiment. The west is enjoying it thoroughly!
As to the "nationalist" (pejorative, I assume), isn't the USA profoundly nationalist? Everything it does is in its own interests. By itself being nationalist isn't bad. I wish more countries were nationalist and defended themselves vigorously from the very beginning, allowing no encroachments of any kind at any time.
There was no other way for it -- Kremlin regime is basically Soviet elite mixed with random survivors of the Wild 90s. They don’t really know or appreciate pre-Soviet period of Russian history and they don’t feel obligated to act in Russian national interests. And they only do so when it coincides with their goal of surviving. Pinning them to a wall was a catastrophic blunder or Western foreign policy, because it makes them think and do things only Russian nationalist could think and do.
As to nationalism there is definitely nothing inherently bad in it. Being a nationalist meaning loving and caring about your family, your home and your country. Learning from history. Making rational choices. Any normal state is nationalist. Surely people can make it extreme, but so it works with anything. Russian nationalism is basically forbidden in Russian Federation because it is incompatible with Soviet “multinational” ideology which basically meant exploiting Russians to the benefit of ethnic minorities. It was designed by Lenin and his lieutenants and is still in effect.
If Trump had not had the network of intelligence agencies set to defeat his election, his plan was to enlarge the franchise and enlarge the global pie so everyone would have their slice of prosperity. To place the engine of abundance in the lap of the enterprise, which would generate a world free of war, and free up those tools of international trade that is the only path to rid the world of poverty. Sad this horrific tragedy for the citizens both countries.
Americans and Russians are natural allies, since we are much alike in character and culture. Unfortunately, many people would like us to destroy each other or at least wage meaningless proxy wars.
I was working on an experiment in France , took the elevator down and at the door was an old friend of mine who had moved to Cal Tech. We reached out our hands at the same time and reporters snapped photos. They were there doing a story on international cooperation in science. Misha is like a brother. Science is being destroyed by this OTHERING.
In Soviet time western scientific conferences sometimes had Russian sections. In these sections there were no speakers -- they were behind the Iron Curtain and therefore unable to come and participate. So the audience just stayed in these quiet rooms, because they respected their fellows from Russia. It’s kinda hard to imagine nowadays, when many scientific societies and associations raced to kick Russians out. We are not angry though, ‘cause we understand the consequences of the politicisation of science from a very personal experience. Someday all will settle, although it’s not clear whether we will live to see this day.
Can you point out when exactly Russia wanted to destroy the USA? If mentioning specific events (say, Caribbean crisis), would you also trace their origins/timelines?
It's just astonishing how these imbeciles in the West still think that they have any influence on how the war in Ukraine ends.
That decision is 100% in Moscow's hands. China also has a major say. This has been the case since late 2022.
Time is on Moscow's side. Russia is now close to attriting the remaining Ukrainian / NATO force, which is in essence already defeated (the slaughter is unbelievable).
I guess they'll keep destroying Ukrainian soldiers and Ukraine's military-industrial capacity (which was one of the key objectives of the SMO), as well as bleeding Western treasuries and armouries, for as long as they need to.
Ukraine has been a great gift to Russia fron the West, in particular to the Russian military. It's allowed the Russians to test their brand new weapons systems, not just manoeuvrable hypersonic missiles but their SM400 & 500 air defence systems, their EW systems, their new laser systems, their artillery, their new tanks, their new planes, their new minefield systems (the Agriculture system is ground breaking) and of course their new drone systems.
As a result, Russia now has the #1 battle hardened military force on the planet, by a significant margin. People forget that in February 2022, Ukraine had an extremely powerful military force - with tough fighters, too. It was larger than and could have defeated any European military force - the German, French and UK militaries have been a joke for some time. The Russians wiped out that army in just 6 months. They are wiping out the 3rd iteration of Ukraine's army as we speak.
To achieve what the Russians have achieved is quite remarkable once you understand what they were up against. It explains why NATO and/or the US alone are too frightened to get involved. They'd lose in decisive and horrific fashion.
Anyway, what emerges from Ukraine is a truly frightening and lethal Russian military force, with weapons based on an understanding of advanced physics, that the West does not possess and in my opinion won't possess for decades. Why? We have abandoned the critical subjects required to do so such as maths, sciences, engineering and technology, from our education systems. We just don't have the brains that the Russians have, and in particular when it comes to developing new military weapons and solutions.
Will the Russians launch an offensive to end things in Ukraine? Maybe. They have at least 300,000 (some say it's far higher) soldiers ready to go. Interestingly, the Russian military conducted a massive military exercise in 2021 simulating a winter offensive. Don't put it past them to go full bore in winter.
Or maybe they'll just continue to let the Ukrainians impale themselves on Romanchuk's impregnable defence lines.
What we are seeing is classic Russian military strategy, informed by Svechin's thinking, but also updated to modern times.
So, there will be no 'stalemate' or 'frozen conflct'. Amateurs such as shoe shine boy Jake Sullivan and incompetent fools such as Blinken don't get to dictate to the likes of Putin, Gerasimov, Shoigu and Lavrov what happens in Ukraine.
The decision is exclusively one for the Kremlin. If the war continues on, it's because that's the will of Moscow and no one else.
No one but the Stavka knows the Russian strategy, but it's likely to be a vseh asll thought out one. The Stavka has shown itself to be far superior in terms of strategic thinking, than the West. Very Clausewitzian. Ukraine is just one piece in a much larger geopolitical strategy. The Russians will have gamed out all possible scenarios, in order to achieve Russia's political objectives.
We in the West need to steel ourselves for some tough times. We also need to be clear eyed and honest about the situation our so-called leaders have led us into. Ukraine has been worse than a debacle for the West. It's easily the worst disaster the West has ever experienced. We haven't even started experiencing the implications that will follow from this epic (and) ongoing humiliation.
So, let these Western leaders babble on as much as they want. Like I said, they're irrelevant. They just don't know it yet.
“The war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continuous. Hierarchical society is only possible on the basis of poverty and ignorance. In principle, the war effort is always planned to keep society on the brink of starvation. The war is waged by the ruling group against its own subjects and its object is not the victory over either Eurasia or Eastasia, but to keep the very structure of society intact.” – George Orwell
too many die with todays pinpoint missiles to be “continuous” against a super power. Against a weak sand ridden 3rd world opponent?? absolutley. Not happening here.
That's what they are saying--a long war--but what does that really mean? The Poles are already bailing.
What it really means is that the so-called counter-offensive has failed and failed utterly. The premises on which the entire (proxy) war depended have been exposed as delusional or fraudulent, if not simply a cynical use and abuse of the poor Ukrainians for ulterior motives. The Ukrainians were never going to win, whatever that would mean (retaking Crimea or Donbas? that's simply not in the cards, never was) and the West was never going to give them the kind of support even theoretically they would need. And that in turn means they and the West are going on the defensive while the West looks for ways to shed Ukraine without appearing to be too much of a heel.
Because frankly Nato and the US don't have the means (in the face of mounting political and economic pressures and the damage they've already done to their own military stocks and economies) to continue throwing good money after bad. This is already a war that has produced the reverse of all the expectations at the outset. In particular, it represents a tipping point in the fate of American unipolarity, the irreversible decline of its global power and prestige.
The problem, though, is that our regime has become a prisoner of its own propaganda and the vast many-headed monster that produces it, spontaneously yet as if preplanned. They are captive to it politically and psychologically--they can't admit error or miscalculation and so cannot correct their actions and policies, and they have destroyed all possibility of serious negotiation and in any case lack the actual skill to negotiate. They are complete amateurs who imagine themselves masters of the universe. In fact their propaganda and ideology make diplomacy and even strategy or long-term thinking impossible. As if transgender, they have neutered themselves, capable only of acting from internal compulsions that have no basis in reality. They think it is up to them to dictate terms to the Russians even as they are losing--or have already lost. But the Russians, who still have not used their main force, have the initiative, even if they are deceptively quiet about it, unlike our loudmouths.
Well, gee whiz. How long were we in Afghanistan? Have a little understanding! War with China is what? in seven years maybe? Until then, these military boys need the citizenry to understand why give up on a war when we got one and nobody's dying - well, besides Ukrainians and Russians, but they don't count. And we got these missiles we're experimenting on Russian cities with...don't stop a good well oiled, lucrative deal like we got! Everybody's rakin' in the do-re-me! As for those bleedin' hearts about climate catastrophe..we've got one...what's the big deal? All the lobbyists in DC, they're pumped! And the revolving door's working real well. We got our retired boys, ehr, Generals sounding real good on TV and lookin like they've been workin overtime to save Ukraine from democracy...pitch perfect!
this isn’t Afghanistan and the enemy of Ukraine isn’t wearing sandals. russia won’t let this last years and Ukraine is out of fighters. We didn’t lose many/year in Afghanistan so nobody bitched. Ukraine has lost roughly 500k in 18 months. 1-2m permanently injured. they’re done. they have a 2-300k left total from what i hear and losing 500-1k/day lately. The “Ukraine soldier” part of this war is over in 6 months or less. The nato part will begin between now and then... Only this time the body bags will stack 200x what Afghanistan saw. Might be a bit unpopular..
I understand. Just saying this war won’t last as long as Washington may want if they want to keep it proxy. I think they want an all out war with Russia however. We’ll see bc it won’t be popular here in the US which is why they need to Russia to initiate it.
My comment, Pj, had everything to do with the debauched attitudes constructing the war, fictionalizing the consciousness of the particular Americans behind it, and the ones preaching it. Corrupted and isolated - frozen - with no groking of its terrible meaning for life on all dimensions of life - and no in touchness with the cold absence that is death. Such ghoulishness parading as humans, our so- appointed leadership. A snap shot of what Jesus would have turned into were he to have said "yes" to Lucifer's enticements during those 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness.
That you think Lucifer is Satan only shows how much you love myths, mysteries, and other falsehoods. Only slaves and slavers love such things, and anyone proud to engage in either side of a domination relation is a waste of oxygen.
Yes. I love myth, metaphor, symbol and other literary devices. How enriching they are! The word way of image making evoking understandings beyond the word itself. And, boy o boy! Do you hate them! And their makers!
Russia is now destroying weapons shipments as they come in. This is certainly nothing like any of the wars since WW2 and Russia won WW2. I totally agree with you. When do we send troops, or have we waited so long they can't thankfully.
Actually it’s doubtful China goes to war with US... They’re holders of 5 Trillion (give or take a few hundred billion), they own us. They certainly own the Manchuria they’ve managed to install in the WH, and half the Senate... Absolutely disgusting. What other country in their most insane nightmare would place the two most powerful nuclear powers at each other’s throats? Do they do not understand that if we (US n Russia) did not even launch, if they just detonated their warheads in their launch silos it would poison the Northern Hemisphere for several hundred years.
Yes, I see a senior Ukrainian mentioned they need to adopt a defensive posture and Surovikin lines like in Donbas to prevent any further Russian advances. This of course suggests a realization that they cannot retake territory, and of course a peace negotiation would achieve the same result without the loss in lives, peace however is not what their handlers desire.
The Ukrainians seem to forget that Romanchuk's fortifications are designed to be combined with military doctrine that is very difficult to execute properly (based on Svechin) requiring superb commanders, that in turn depends on extremely well trained and motivated military forces, who work as a coordinated whole in conjunction with military assets in the air, space, on the ground, and also on and under water.
Point being that what the Russian defensive line has achieved in Ukraine isn't just about digging ditches and putting men in them. It's far, far more sophisticated than that and Ukraine doesn't have the capacity to do it. Neither does any western military force and in particular, the Americans.
The Ukrainians will also face an advancing force that is the most lethal on earth right now, with weapons that no western nation has (and won't have for decades, either).
If that's the Ukrainian strategy - build fortified trenches, put guys in them, hope for the best), it will be a bloodbath. The Russians will run right over them, with ease.
Even if the Ukrainians could construct the fortifications and had the training and air support to pull the maneuvers off, Ukraine has very long borders.
Actually, Ukraine has a defensive line, the Dinpro river. When this started I said Russia would take everything to the Dinpro including Odessa. That would be the only way Russia could come out of war footing no matter what the u.s./nato wants.
Russia won’t let it drag on. Also, Ukraine is nearly out of soldiers to fight the war so the conventional aspect of it will likely be over within 6-12 months simply because unless Poland or the US starts bringing in our kids to the meat grinder (Americans will not allow this) they’ll be no men left to fight for Ukraine. Right now things are escalating exceptionally fast to the point where nato will be involved. Once nato is involved it will escalate globally immediately and will no longer be about Ukraine. No way this drags on wo nato involved. china will take Taiwan in the next 12 months it appears too. WW3 is less than 12 months away the way i see it.
The day WILL come when we have lavish praise for Putin. The slimeball US president wants more than his 10%. He loves the US when it will someday grovel at the feet of both China and Russia. We'll become a nation of low wage technocratic toadies begging for our grasshopper meals. To realize that so many Americans voted for this freakazoid is beyond the pale. And those dingbats will vote for this freak should he run again. Just think, we'll be the only nation with a dead president in the White House.
"“The US and its allies in the Group of Seven now expect the war in Ukraine may drag on for years to come and are building that possibility into their military and financial planning."
There you have it. They openly admit that financial planning depends upon their military planning of dragging on this proxy war for at least another seven years. I think it's time we label this proxy war in such a way that it instantly brings back horrific memories for Americans and inspires them to march in the streets, protesting it. Let's call it "Vietnam 2: The Endless Ukraine Proxy War." Or maybe just "Viet-kraine" for short. #GivePeaceAChance
I think it might be an appropriate time for the best journalists who’ve been covering this proxy war to get the names and pictures of the architects and proponents and leading advocates of the war and plaster them across the internet. We all know about Biden, aka senator credit card, and most of us know that his National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan was a Deputy Chief of Staff to Hillary Clinton when she was Obama’s Secretary of State, and the senior policy advisor to her when she ran and lost her bud to be president. Most of us know about Antony Blinken, a cast off from Obama’s administration. But if one digs a little deeper, the minds behind the policy turn out to be many of the failed theorists who gave us the Iraq War.
I am linking a news article that was penned by a well known conservative, who was an associate deputy attorney general in the Reagan administration. Bruce Fein’s long, but very informative commentary from consortium news.com about the renowned academic and author Robert Kagan, delves into the subject’s messianic view of America, and his commitment to make his view a reality.
There are other names that many of Caitlin’s readers know, but many Americans probably don’t. Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Perle are two of the well respected neocons who preach the gospel of the empire.
The more ink devoted to these warmongers, the more other politicians may be given pause to consider their own positions relative to the prime suspects.
The west painted itself into a corner. They are forced to play it by ear henceforth while pronouncing whatever sounds best at that moment.
The Zelensky junkets are very much like what happened with the Shah after the US removed the democratically elected Mossadegh.
So eloquently & beautifully put. That last sentence is a gem, to rival even Caitlin the Great herself.
That is a compliment to treasure; thank you!

Fortunately for most the tanks are, for the most part, window dressing for special projects and special ops.

How the US, Through the Greens and the Reds, Is Destroying Europe https://www.unz.com/article/how-the-us-through-the-greens-and-the-reds-is-destroying-europe/
Russia has played footsie, and that has only encouraged the West to push harder.
They see Russian reluctance not as reasonableness or humanity, but as contemptible weakness.
I'm guessing the US sees the Russians as playing the long game and at least some of the leading factions are worried about it; hence the panic about Trump.
The US also is playing a long game, for the US is run, not by amiable dunces, but by full-on sociopaths.
The sociopaths I have known personally (not many) usually seemed to want a fast payoff, but since we're talking about nation-states, I suppose you're right.
I meet (I think) a fair number of amoral types. They come in all levels of strategery.
Only the grownups in the MICIMATT complex matter.

Do you mean necro-cons? If so , I'm with you.
Lol I suppose that too;)
I agree they are Neo-cons in leftist sheep clothing, but they want us eating their animal products and burning fossil fuels for along as they possibly can.
Die already!
Need another voter?
The troll's been peddling whatever's behind those links for some time now.
I don't think Russia is in agreement with that timeline. I give Ukraine another year - maybe two.
Not the war. The country.
They'll just Send In The Poles, along with Czechs, Slovaks, etc. to catch Russian munitions.
They will certainly try to do that. I don’t think that these countries are up for that though. They are not as supine as Germany is, for example.
I do think however that there may come a point when they try to introduce American troops into the area. Nuland and the rest of the State Department psychos are that crazy.
We will see.
Points to consider:
The Gerald F Ford, America's newest aircraft carrier comes in at 37 billion and construction took so long it was put into active service and is still under construction on the high seas.
https://open.substack.com/pub/doctorbuzzard/p/global-patterns-found-in-generational?r=21v0ff&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
Sadly the human element toll isn’t even considered, as with all wars. Absolutely appalling!
At the current casualty rate aye, it is hard to imagine continuing the war into 2030 as possible.
Unless Ukraine can get some suckers to supply them more troops.
Least informed? No doubt.
I will bet also most misinformed.
Ronald Regan was a nationalist but look https://open.substack.com/pub/doctorbuzzard/p/global-patterns-found-in-generational?r=21v0ff&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
I don't look at self-promoting links.
Let’s assume we had a discussion and proceeded with it to meaningful resolution.
Good luck with that plan lol !
All the Western "leaders" care about is kickbacks and the next election.
Very well said. Now if only more people will read your brilliant words.
Sounds familiar...
Exactly.
Nothing has changed. And people are still fooled into waving Ukrainian flags in “support”, while in fact while war consumes their future.
too many die with todays pinpoint missiles to be “continuous” against a super power.
Alas, dareI suggest you missed the point altogether? No big deal.
Wow! Thanks, Acerb Selina.
Go around the fortifications.
Redoubts were used with great effect when they were employed by Napoleon.
Russia will let it drag on if Russia wants to.
Would it come as a surprise if I suggested that Biden does not design US foreign policy?
TBH, while disappointed that any American voted for Biden, I do believe VERY MANY of his votes were bogus.
BINGO
By 'financial planning' they mean the continuous printing of new money to hand over to weapons manufacturers.

This can be a 21st century murderers row.
