I asked him wether he would see it as the best to him if I would cut his armes with a chainsaw. I was friendly and not at all aggressive. It was a question, aimed to make him think about his deeds. The man stated that I had insulted him with that question and he called the police, stating that he gotinsulted (insults are a legally punishable offence in Germany). He then stopped cutting the tree and sat in that car of him, waiting for the police to appear. This was within the timeframe of his work... After about an hour, the police appeared, a young man and a woman. They spoke with the man as I could see from he window of my home. I came out of my house, offered my ID to have the policeman taking up my info for the criminal charge. He wrote down my ID details and then said to me the man was complaining about me having insulted him. I repeated to him what I had said to the man himself about an hour ago: That I asked a question, and a question would, by all means of logic, never state an insult. The policeman then said that he had convinced the man to drop the charge against me if I were to apologise to him. I acceptd and went to that man who had been sitting in that car for about an hour, and said, that it had not been my intention to insult him, that I wanted him to take responsibility for what he does (cripple a living being for the optics within the timeframe forbidden for such work). I ensured him it was nit at all my intention to insult him (and this, of course, was true). He agreed, and we shook hands and were both fine. The policeman was also fine. Then the policeman said what deeply frustrated me: "But, Mr,Heuer, you need to understand that if the city administration orders him to cut the tree, that means it must be within the frame of the law."

There is a slow rise of these cameras having "accidents" lately here in the U.S. Given all of the attention lately, I expect this to increase. Americans have a strong sense of personal freedom and tend to fight against anything they perceive as threatening that. It's going to get very interesting here in the next few months.
And people wonder why I have a collection of Philip K. Dick novels and stories. I nearly had an autographed copy of Solar Lottery, a strangely published double book. Then Philip was thought to be insane with his dystopian ideas. Philip was a prophet, we are living Philip's worst nightmares. Still searching for that copy : (
