Caitlin, Your printed articles are perfect—don’t bother pandering to those whose attention spans don’t hold up to a printed essay.

I hear your POV, however, there's something I value about seeing the face or faces of those delivering their essays/political perspectives during the interaction they share. Such nuance is not possible when I'm only hearing the words spoken. I'm a visual person and want to see who is speaking their message, just like I do when personally interacting with someone.

Or; Take a look at my profile pic and then ponder the fact that the pic is about 10 years old. Some of us with failing eyesight are truly grateful for Tim's or Caitlin's reading of their posts.

I would have to take my glasses off at work to read everything I want to on my phone so

it’s not really about attention spans and it’s kind of an ableist take as well. Having both for all people and how they consume information is perfect!

It's nice to see the face behind the voice.

Thanks to Caitlan and Tim for their continuing efforts to expose the rot of Empire and those who support it. Thanks also to those who post here day after day in solidarity with the oppressed and throw-away fellow human beings the world over. Keep a good heart in spite of the bastards - be kind.

For those readers here that are unable to translate this post, here it is - "Well published and said – peace in Gaza and Jerusalem upon you – pride and victory is the ally of the axis of resistance and its allies, humiliation and shame for the axis of evil and the Epstein group (America, Britain, France, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, NATO countries, neo-Nazism, Freemasonry, Zionism and Israel) and its allies."

That reading was great! Except… I’m allergic to the large colourful subtitles flashed up on screen during the reading. They are distracting, and slightly nauseous, and they can’t be turned off 😢. And since the essay is already published in written form, do you really need subtitles?

Either way, thanks Tim (even if the content was depressing).

Caitlin Johnstone's avatar

Ah yeah, that makes sense. Probably don't need those.

Sometimes when you get to know someone by their voice there’s a weird awkward almost embarrassed feeling when you see their face. Happily this was not at all the case with seeing Tim while hearing him - I thought the vid was excellent - I love you guys.

Btw much as I loathe and despise Trump and co, I never forget the evils of “Genocide Joe” and his vile accomplices. I’m sure you have, but if not, listen to the track Genocide Joe by Lowkey - he really nails it.

Love and solidarity to both xx🔻🔻🔻

I believe the Ds are largely to blame for Trump. Their last term was abominable. It was so similar to the Weimar republic with demented von Hindenburg as president. Harris was highly unpopular and looked even worse. Even some minimal program for ordinary people would have been enough, but no, it was all about serving Big Money. They pursued aggressive and highly profitable wars covered by blanket propaganda. They opened the door for DT to lie his way into office as the peace candidate.

Truer words were never spoken -I detest the fraudulent Democratic Party - hypocrites of the highest magnitude. All of the major political office holders in this Democratic state of New Mexico take AIPAC money and don't like being called out on it; neither do their supporters.

But Patrick, isn't that how it goes. Each president lays the groundwork for the next one to follow. The fact that Obama said "let's look forward" when confronted about prosecuting Bush for war crimes. Obama killed the anti-war movement. Razzle, dazzled "code pink" into thinking he really was about no-more-wars, then turned around and became the "Drone King". It's as if each one gets a little worse than the one before them, like the ole boiling frog scenario. Step by step they move us further and further away from what we "thought" this so-called Democracy was.

But if you take the time to connect the dots, and look at each president all the way back to Washington, you will see the ongoing theme of "crimes against humanity", oppression, racism, egalitarianism, control and power. In other words, the faces change but the ideology does not. It's a uniparty. No real difference between them. Their campaigns sell a lot of hopium. People get caught up and seem to forget. Even the slogan "Make America Great Again" is not new. Obama borrowed slogans from Bill Clinton. I think they count on the people's short term memories.

Hillary Clinton is a monster!

One thing that's not easy to forget is that in the period from 2008 to 2020, there were 22 times as many Palestinians being killed as there were Israelis being killed (UN statistics). The only reason that is NOT easy to forget is that most of us here never knew that thanks to the mainstream media's failure to report it.

Awesome to hear from you in person, Tim. Man, watching Hillary talk like a Nazi always surprises me. I still remember back in 1992 when I set up a table in a shopping center parking lot to register voters for Bill Clinton. He would be the first president in my life younger than me, and his running mate Al Gore was one of the most interesting and radical climate change activists. I didn't even know Gore was a politician, because up until that time, I'd only heard him on Democracy Now talking intelligently about climate change. Years later, while Bill Clinton was campaigning for Hillary, who was running against Trump, my wife actually got to shake his hand. I asked her afterwards if she could feel the blood on his hands of the half million children his administration ADMITTED to killing in Iraq with his sanctions. It's hard for a white boy born upper-middle-class in the 1950s to believe how horrible his "great" "free" country actually is. To an alien sociologist, America would be considered far worse and FAR more dangerous than Hitler's Germany. Here's Maddie Albright ADMITTING the crime: https://youtu.be/vppDu9guvxE

Patrick Powers's avatar

She said the sanctions were "worth it." One day I wondered, worth what? I couldn't find any statement as to the purpose of the sanctions. I figured that the goal was to motivate Iraq to overthrow Saddam. That didn't happen, so the sanctions failed. How then were they "worth it"?

I don't recall sanctions having ever succeeded in anything. "Let's overthrow our government so we can be ruled by the country who's making us miserable." Bribery is a lot more effective.

Jeff Syrop's avatar

"Let's overthrow our government so we can be ruled by the country who's making us miserable."

LOL. That's good! Yeah, historically sanctions don't work. And what happened to proportionality? Ameri卐a is like a cop spraying a crowded classroom full of children with a machine gun to kill one bad guy who might be hiding behind a desk.

I'm a crazy archivist, and out of all the hundreds of video clips I've ever screen captured and saved, this one with Leslie Stahl asking that EXCELLENT question to that satanic bitch Madeleine Albright, and Maddie's Hitlerian answer, is the best clip I've ever found that sums up who we are. If Hitler or Putin had done the exact same thing, it would be considered a heinous war crime. But when Ameri卐a does it, it's just normal stuff that we expect our presidents to do. Nixon AND Kissinger publicly referred to the brave Vietnamese warriors and civilians we were slaughtering literally by the millions ... "vermin".

Please share this video far and wide. It probably won't be allowed on the Internet much longer. https://youtu.be/vppDu9guvxE

Patrick, if another country did to the USA what the USA does to other countries, it would be a cause for war against that country. I find it so interesting how the USA moves through the world with utter impunity, yet will cry "uncle" and remind everyone, over and over again, about how for the past 47 years Iran has killed "Americans". They have no problem pointing fingers at what other countries have done as long as it suits the narrative for them to go to war (9/11) but let another country feel it has the right to defend itself against the USA and now that country or person is labeled a terrorist. Then in full unbelievable outrageousness, they take the very same so-called "terrorist" responsible for "beheading" US soldiers and make him the un-elected president of Syria. They keep saying you can't make this sh*t up, but the reality is, they make it up all the time, one psyops after another.

Nana Baakan Agyiriwah's avatar

Thank you, Jeff, for this clip. It needs to be downloaded and archived for posterity's sake because they are re-writing history in real time. These gems will be lost, recalibrated and re-issued so as to offset the crimes blatantly admitted by Madelene Albright.

Tim's voice and accent is clear and distinct, and his accentuations are spot on. Hearing your (plural "your") essays is a good way to take them in, whether or not accompanied by an on-camera presentation.
