What’s so soul destroying is that they were right in a way to put their faith in the general public. After the initial lies about mass rape and babies in ovens, the general public shifted on the whole to a pro Palestine position. But Western governments and their media ignored the people and stuck with Israel like glue - eventually to the extent of charging anti Isnotreal protesters with terrorism while protecting those guilty of war crimes and genocide. Citizen led initiatives for Gaza were cut down with brutality - the various flotillas and marches to Gaza. Public support for Gaza would have been even greater if there had been more even handed reporting and more calling of Israel to account by both politicians and media figures. And it hasn’t been just the West, look at the Muslim countries!

For those of us who watched in horror and anguish the slaughter taking place - right from the start - it is at least a relief ( though tragically so very late for the Palestinians) that the revelations of condemnation of Netanyahu and his partners in crime are now at last coming from the belly of the beast itself. It is time the monsters are hauled in front of the International Court of Justice, together with their allies, the US/Western powers for aiding and abetting a genocide. They and their media made countless propaganda stories about Oct 7th, which Netanyahu made an excuse of to murder the Palestinians, weaponised starvation, and kill their little children, made the place one huge wasteland while dragging their men to torture.
Watching the recent made up outrage about settler violence in the West Bank by some western countries, it looks suspiciously like they are trying to cover up their complicity in this horrendous crime against humanity.
Everyone needs to read the Haaretz article. Everyone who bothered to find out knew these facts from the beginning - the evidence and reportage was there, in quantity - but until now it didn't come from the Israeli 'side'. It'll be interesting to see how foreign governments try to justify their blind faith in the Netanyahu government.

Like you say, people already knew/suspected these things. So why now? Why is this disclosure made so close to the Israeli elections? Does the "timing" all this suggesting something?
Quite possibly. From what I can gather, there is no opposition party in Israel which disapproves of genocide and ethnic cleansing, although they might not be quite so brazen about it. Just a handful of academics (who write for Haaretz) and a miniscule number of principled young people, who would vote against Netanyahu anyway. But if it goes some way to opening eyes before the elections, then I guess that's a positive.
After everything that the world has witnessed over the last 3 years, it may seem absurd for me to suggest that "Netanyahu may quite possibly be the 'lesser evil' part of the whole system".
But that's how I'm increasingly seeing it after extended reflection, reading, and synthesis of the long history of Israel including its cultural and societal evolution.
What I'm saying is that 'Netanyahu seems to be ONE symptom of the historical evolution of Israel' - and possibly not the worst one.
New evidence is ALWAYS good, but it should also be analyzed in the appropriate contexts.

Not only did the Israelis, including Israeli intelligence units, know the break-out was coming, they planned for it. They deliberately put the young people in between Gaza and the nearest IDF outpost by moving the race to the location two days before October 7th. The Israelis moved their normal contingent of troops out of the area before the resistance broke out and they had their helicopter gunships and tanks ready to move in and kill most of the Israeli party-goers pursuant to their kill-them-all policy, the Hannibal directive. There is nothing new about Israeli action,we have known this since the first week, but it is interesting to know that Blinken and, therefore Biden, Harris, and American intelligence knew about it as well.

However, I did know—and had written as much a few days after October 7—that an agent from Israel’s internal security service (Shin Bet), operating undercover in Gaza, had gone to Netanyahu’s home at night a week earlier to warn him of what was about to happen; Netanyahu had then classified the information—keeping it hidden even from all Israeli intelligence agencies, including Mossad—and had ordered the military units guarding the border to be redeployed elsewhere.
