It shouldn't be at all surprising that liars lie. So we need to assume that everything they say is a lie and that Israel will continue lie and deceive until they just can't lie and deceive any more. In other words if they are able to lie, it is a lie. Treat it as such, and conduct thyself accordingly.

Agreed.

And to compound the matter, you have a narcissistic sociopath who wants to "win" the Nobel Peace Prize for no other reason than 1) Obama (whom he loathes so much) got it back in 2009 for no good reason and 2) it's just another shiny new object for Big Daddy to flaunt on his social network.

It won't be long before he has his minions planning to carve out more space on Mount Rushmore. And if that isn't feasible, I'm sure he can find ways to "erase" one or more of the "loser" Presidents currently occupying the real estate.

Of course, it doesn't need to be said that Trump, following Biden's lead, actively armed Israel to the teeth.

I will seriously lose my mind if these fucking liberal elites is Oslo even think that a war criminal like Trump deserves anything else but a trip to the Hague.

The amount of sycophantical behavior by world leaders since Trump won re-election makes my stomach turn

Some thoughts (of mine) that go counter to the narratives (of ceasefire) of the West ->

(1) No one really cares about the Israeli hostages (other than their families) - not Trump, not Netanyahu, and not the elites of America and Israel. This ceasefire is not about hostages.

(2) From recent past history, we know that Israel has NEVER managed to maintain the ceasefire for more than a day (and even then they continued killing Palestinians - though discreetly). They never lived up to ceasefires in Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, or anywhere else.

(3) I highly doubt that Israel will be releasing too many Palestinian prisoners. Their goal has ALWAYS been ethnic cleansing. Releasing all the Palestinian prisons will lead to an increase in the non-Jewish population, which is something Israel doesn't want.

(4) Israel will find ways TO CONTINUE killing Palestinians (in Gaza and elsewhere) under different methods (ceasefire or not) - in prisons, in the West Bank, and even in Gaza (as long as there are no cameras/reporters to record it). This has been their behavior. I don't expect them to change this just because Trump said some words.

(5) Israel may use this 'down-time' (they're calling it a ceasefire?) to regroup and prepare for an assault on Iran (as Israel will be unable to attain its goal of Eretz Israel unless they make Iran into a rump state).

(6) Israel will continue displacing Palestinians (from Gaza and the West Bank) while this cease-fire is supposedly going on. A cease-fire might provide a lull in the genocide, but I doubt it would do much to slow down the ethnic-cleansing.

(7) Israel (and the U.S.) are attempting to use neo-colonial strategies to conquer all of Gaza (hint: they want Tony Blair and Trump to take charge of Gaza instead of any Palestinian factions).

(8) Trump still very much has his focus on 'real-estate' in Gaza (after all, Trump is Trump) - hence the situation for Gazans is unlikely to improve.

(9) Israel may continue 'this facade of cease-fire' while continuing to prevent aid, food, medical supplies, life necessities like electricity/water from reaching Gazans, thus continuing the genocide of Gazans by means of starvation, etc.

(10) Trump seems to desperately want is 'Nobel Peace Prize'. This may be his strategy to try for one. I hope people see the 'fakery' for what it is. Trump (and Netanyahu) deserve the 'death prize' (if there is any such thing).

All-in-all, IMHO, this is likely to be a FAKE ceasefire (in the sense that Palestinians will continue to be ethnically cleansed and genocided by other means than outright military action), and I still harbor doubts about how long even this 'fake ceasefire' will last...

A message to Caitlin and Tim.

Take the weekend off, this coming weekend. Have a break while you can.

Forget about Gaza. Forget about the lying Israel, Forget about the totally corrupted USA.

It is tempting for me to leave it there. But the one item you cannot dismiss is history (it repeats itself) and the details of the Israel game plan, written over 100 years ago....and by now, known to all.

The History. 80 years since WWII for Israel, all taken up with planning the very thing that we are all witnessing today. Is it Step # 5, # 8, #16.....who cares about the number. . A ceasefire conjured up in this case to give some breathing space to TRUMP to assist his quest for a Nobel Peace Prize, 2025 but also some time for the Trumpanyahu government to move into the next step of the lie to end all lies.

The Facts. Listen to the right wing (sorry, extreme rightwing Nazi - like) Israeli politicians who are virtually saying….. 'can't wait for this bit of make believe to be over’ …..so we can get back to the real objective, the details of which one really doesn't have to itemise here as 'we all really know what will happens next'.

Even the highly respected Caitlin and Tim must be really thinking.....how long?.

In Israel. We have the hostages back, so now we have the support of all in Israel. No more questioning of our plans and actions. As for Trump and his Nobel prize? He can wait until next year. He will do what he is told. We have that side of things well covered, believe me.

Here we go then. We have a country called Palestine we have to turn into rubble with good old reliable Western support whose governments are always there with us, one and all.

20 years from now, all just a distant memory (when you control the media)

It's a huge conundrum. The Palestinians have suffered insufferable brutality and they want the bombing to stop. Yet, by the same token they know they cannot trust the Israeli Regime and they certainly cannot trust the USA. So they are caught between a rock and a hard place. They've lost so much, schools, churches, mosques, universities, hospitals and whole families have been wiped out. They are surrounded by rubble filled with toxic waste and who knows how many bodies buried underneath. They have been denied the resources to clean it up themselves. Is the world community willing and able to do the clean up for them? Even the big fat cats who are licking their lips over the "prospects" of what this prized beach front property will bring millions if not billions to their coffers. Some say it will take 15-25 years to clean it up and rebuild. Meanwhile, Israeli real estate agents are selling land like they landed on the moon and carved up pieces for sale. None of it matters, because it's the gain in the moment, not the future reconstruction. The promises of reconstruction fall apart, look at Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan and everywhere else the war machine has devastated the area. It's not even about regime change, they just want the Palestinians gone and forgotten.

Then there's the absorption of these worn torn highly traumatized individuals into other countries. Many of them severely injured, mentally, emotionally and physically, with Gaza having more child amputees per capita than in recorded history. They've starved them to the point that even the food aid cannot arrest the physical damage done to their bodies due to malnutrition.

What can they do? What should they do? They simply want the bombing to stop. They want to believe that they can recover their lives and rebuild their homes and communities. Without sincere, genuine and honest support from the world community, they will be at the mercy of the genocidal entity that has had its noose around their neck for decades.

Recovery from this Holocaust will take decades if not centuries, as much as I wish I had a magic wand to make it all better for them overnight.

Israel Apologists Have No Foundational Argument. The Zionist Jews Have Made the Holocaust of the Jews Irrelevant by the 21st Century Holocaust of the Palestinians.

Conclusion: It Has Never Been About What Happened on October 7, 2023. It Has Always Been About the Extermination of the Palestinians. https://topicsfromatoz.substack.com/p/israel-apologists-have-no-foundational

Hamas has not agreed to disarm until a Palestinian state is established, something the current regime in Israle has stated will never happen. Hamas, faced with genocide or gambling that Trump will keep his word to prevent Israel from restarting the massacre, has taken the gamble, having given up the leverage of the hostages, which brought the Israel public railing against Netanyahu's consistent sabotage of hostage deals. It is not giving up its right to resist, tho that resistance is offered at the price of genocide, a devil's dilemma.

It is my suspicion, and I hope I am wrong, that Netanyahu will find a pretext to resume the massacre, blaming Hamas. He has hired a criminal gang to do false flag acts of violence to blame on Hamas, so the cast is in place as is the di.

It is deeply ironic that if this works, it is because of Trump's egomaniacal desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize by ending the war. Hamas is gambling that his hubris will protect them......and we know that the only hope is that Trump's lust for the Peace Prize will embolden him to clamp down on the Zionist monsters in Israel...but then again, he is known as TACO.

I think not, for without US support, both diplomatic and militarily, Israel is crippled. And if they resumed after he got the prize, he would see this as lack of loyalty, his most cherished demand of others, and he would threaten to end US support. Israel is aware of this, so the only question is whether he will agree with Israel when some act of violence occurs, most likely by the ISIS linked criminal gang Israel hired and armed to impersonate Hamas, which will be blamed on Hamas, and if Trump falls for it, he will say something like: Hamas has violated the agreement and all hellfire will come down on them like never before in history. That is the gamble Hamas is making, its other option to refuse the deal and give Israel, with Trump's blessings, the green light to intensify the slaughter. I hope I am wrong.....

He needs to cut off the supply of weapons, he needs to pressure israel to make reparations for what they've done as well as making reparations for the US's role, and he needs to come up with a plan on how to ensure accountability and also to deradicalise Israeli society. Without these changes he has to rely on marketing to a sceptical public that can't unsee what it has seen. You might be right, but the sheer cumulative load of what so many have seen over the last couple of years may well bring about a type of vicarious trauma, though not strictly what the literature refers to, and this potentially will affect a huge section of society, and possibly most frequently younger people. This has the potential to have a lasting impact. The point about saving the weapons for Iran raises significant possibilities.

It’s known that the Israelis, and big brother USA, are low on weapons after defending themselves so bravely for two long years in Gaza. But the Israelis have their long-haired Ace in the hole—Sampson—and if their history is any clue, they will provoke Iran into an epic conflict which they can’t win. Then, in time honored fashion, they will “defend themselves”, (poor babies), by using the only weapon they have left.

I am not optimistic.

I am 50% certain that nuclear weapons will be used for the second time in 80 years.

Best case scenario?

I do not believe Israel wants to go up against Iran again because after OCT 7, the Israeli public blamed Netanyahu (who had supported Hamas for 14 yrs and allowed the attack to take place) but he survived with war as his shield. But the "12 Day War" with Iran was abruptly called off because one thing Israeli's will not tolerate is another massacre, especially in Tel Aviv. The failure of the Iron Dome to stop Iranian missiles from landing was another blow to the impression Israeli's were protected, untouchable.

"As of June 30, 2025, Iranian missile strikes have caused significant damage to buildings in Tel Aviv. According to Haaretz, approximately 480 buildings have been damaged across five separate sites within the city.

Haaretz

These attacks have resulted in extensive structural damage, fires, and significant displacement of residents.

This shock to the public terrified Netanyahu who saw his grasp on power hanging by a thread and so he called off the Israeli attacks in order to save his political career. He has underestimated the damage Iran could do and feared the public would not put with a second massacre. And so he caved in. I do not think he is wiling to risk another Iranian attack exposing the vulnerability of the Israeli public and his own hold on power. IMHO,.

I liked your concise summary: 'Whenever Israelis get a ceasefire agreement they go, “This means we have to hurry up and kill as many people as possible before it takes effect.” But it does appear that the killing and abuse will at least diminish for a time, which is an objectively good thing no matter how you slice it.'

Given how much the world pretends to accept Israel's evident lies, and is complicit with supplying Israel's ongoing genocide, I estimate that the recidivist Genocide State of Israel (and its white, racist Zionist allies) will only honor this agreement until they can hasbara enough of the local and imported paranoid white settlers to go on another genocidal rampage of native Palestinians.

The local and imported Zionist/Crusader murderers and hasbarists/psyops have seen how much the young are (mesarvot) refusing their genocide, and cannot see a continued Zionist dominance of Israel and its illegally occupied lands unless they fake peace for long enough for everyone to forget their current genocide, and return their wounded and traumatised to a sufficiently genocidal force once more. I predict they will continue their usual slower, subtler ethnic cleansing, with regular 'anti-terrorist' slaughters, since those have been supported (financially, politically, culturally, militarily) by the Anglo Imperialist mob and their White supremacist and Zionist communities since 1948.

I ask readers to continue to Boycott, Divest, and Sanction the Israel Genocide until they have returned their illegal armed settlers and forces back to the pre-1967 boundaries, which is the LEAST Israel owes its native genocide victims. I also ask that we continue protesting (and holding vigils, and writing letters, etc) until the deeply apartheid state of Israel ends it apartheid.
