I note that Professor Adam Tooze is now one of those establishment liberals who has at last found it within himself to take a clear moral stance on the deliberate starvation of Gaza. One by one, they’re being shamed into coming out of the closet.
Yes, Tooze is horrendously too late. At least 18 months late. While his essay today was well argued with a lot of data provided for background and comparison, his lack of contrition about having failed to speak out strongly until now was flashing red across the screen as I read it, figuratively speaking.
As death and starvation continues in Palestine there will be many more people denying they supported Zionism. But will they turn on the Zionists and bomb the hell out of them?

What's missing, here, is the fact that everyone who is not focused on Epstein, is focused on Gaza while ignoring what is happening in the West Bank. Netanyahu has exploited this diversion to accelerate settler and IDF violence in the West Bank while everyone is looking elsewhere. The goal is to thoroughly cleanse all of Palestine of anything not Jewish.

This has been going on since (at least) the 60s, when I met a fellow middle school teacher who was otherwise human and compassionate who thought the Palestinians were monsters.

Two Israeli soldiers have been arrested at a music festival in Belgium over war crimes allegations, a campaign group has said.
The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) said in a statement that the two soldiers were attending the Tomorrowland festival in Boom, near Antwerp when they were arrested "with a clear show of force" by Belgian federal police.
After the soldiers were taken into custody, they were formally interrogated and released.
HRF said the Belgian Federal Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that a criminal investigation is now underway.
The complaint was filed last week by HRF and the Global Legal Action Network (GLan).
