The cease fire was a calculated cruel move by Netanyahu. There was never intended to be a serious discussion not a prolonged ceasefire.

Instead it was done to allow the Palestinians to revisit their homes and neighborhoods in order to destroy their hopes that something remained of their former lives.

They met with utter destruction.

Essentially it's psychological warfare to kill the will of Palestinians to carry on living.

I think it was for the appalling optics of the genocide. Trump gave a little tug on the rabid attack dog Israeli and replaced images of starving children with a big sign saying Peace 2025. He signs a deal without any Palestinians present!

Israel made some disgusting little touches messing with hostages heads and their are still 10,000 of them being tortured daily in Israeli prisons.

It was all PR.

No, it was a smart diplomatic move on the part of Hamas, because now Hamas has better diplomatic standing than Israel on the international stage. Israel will continue to break its promises as usual while Hamas will continue to uphold its end of whatever it actually agreed to. As time goes on, Israel is isolating itself more and more from other nations, while the Palestinians are gaining more and more credibility and allies. The impact is not immediately visible, but it is real and important. Look at Russia as an example and you can see how its diplomatic language is changing; more and more positive toward Palestine, less and less positive toward Israel. Not enough, yet, to cut off Israel, but moving in that direction.

It's not a Peace Agreement but a trap door set up. It is not that Israel will violate the ceasefire so much but that in order to justify r3esuming full out genocide, with Trump's stamp of approval and arms, Israel on day one accused Hamas of violating the treaty and with "masked gunmen" shooting two Palestinians, no doubt the ISIS linked criminal gang Netanyahu hired to do false flag acts to blame on Hamas, which was immediatlly promoted as "Hamas is killing Palestnians", and Hamas disarmament "beyond impossible," the stage is set to resume the genocide, with the public pressure on Netanyahu relieved with the hostages freed, and the blame being put on Hamas, who never ever agreed to disarm.

Thatls a long sentence to say: The Peace deal is a fake to allow Israel to continue the slaughter, with less public pressure to end the war.

Sure, the Palestinian resistance should disarm. But only after Israel has fully disarmed and a massive international monitoring force is occupying all of Israel and overseeing the complete dismantling of all military infrastructure and the collection of every last weapon, gun, drone and dual-use rape object. And every bulldozer. Every Israeli house should be searched from top to bottom by an international disarmament force to confiscate every last weapon. Dual-use weapons include toothpicks and table forks, and all cooking utensils. And every submarine, warship, aircraft and command and control bunker must be destroyed. Including nuclear weapons. Only after all of this process is completed and verified by the recognised international Israeli disarmament commission should the resistance factions volunteer to disarm. Easy.

It seems increasingly likely that this unfair (unilaterally proscriptive on Palestine) ceasefire was always likely to, and designed to, fail in its ostensible design. Which (given the context) suggests to me its actual aim is to cool down the interest of billions of dissenters to the Israel Genocide globally. Do you know how rare it is to have billions of persons actually actively caring about Europeans slaughtering Arabs?! Very rare, so this momentum must be seized and acted on, while numbers last. To those barely interested in stopping the Israel Genocide, 'do not go gentle into that good night, rage rage against the dying of the (Genocide Convention) light. Join the https://bdsmovement.net/campaigns. Ask your Nation to join https://thehaguegroup.org/home/, who support the Genocide Convention legally, unlike our cowardly, sociopath leaders.

Reformation of the failing UNSecurityCouncil veto could help here, given the US veto of the UNSC keeps Israel's crimes against humanity unpunished. Finland's PM Alexander Stubb made 3 proposals: Prop1 is 'expand it by five members, one from Latin America, two from Africa, and two from Asia.' This will make it more inclusive, but very likely the US will still veto alone, or buy/coerce enough members to achieve veto.

Prop2 is 'the veto power of all permanent and non-permanent members of the Security Council should be scrapped.' this should make US hegemony supporting genocide and other imperialism more expensive (they'd need to bribe/coerce more nations in the UNGeneralAssembly), so rarer, if not impossible.

Prop3 is ' if a member of the Security Council blatantly violates the UN Charter, its voting rights in the Council should be suspended.' That should mostly keep the US & other war crime recidivist states in line. Please ask your Nation to send delegates to lock in 3. Life can be much better.

Let’s just cut to the chase. Everyone I have heard or read speaking about the “Ceasefire” are missing a critical point. They are speaking about hope and prayers. Utter nonsense. The vital point they are missing, in their sycophantic manner, is that neither Trump nor Netanyahu are working in good faith. In fact, they never do.

They have every intention of ripping up the “ceasefire” agreement as soon as they can. What they have done is construct an elaborate charade that will position Hamas as the criminal and themselves as the “good guys”. Already they are publicly setting expectations that Hamas cannot or will not meet. They know that with a subservient press very few people will know what the agreement says. And those who are willing to speak the truth will not be given any air time.

As Chris Hedges recently pointed out, the Israelis always lay out a multi-phase “peace process” and never get past phase two before they upend the “agreement”.

Let’s face it: this “ceasefire” is just a brief breather to let international opposition cool off while Israel prepares for another round of slaughter. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either delusional or incredibly naive.

The United States/Israel pairing has always deceived both its own people and the people of many other countries. They are like the scorpion that stings the frog. Aesop's fable, "The Frog and the Scorpion," tells of a scorpion who asks a frog to carry him on his back across a river. Despite the frog's initial fears, the scorpion convinces her by arguing that if he stung her, he too would drown, since he couldn't swim. Halfway across the river, however, the scorpion stings her anyway, and when asked why, he replies, "It's my nature!" The fable teaches that one cannot change one's nature, even with the best intentions.

They are not fooling anyone. They simply are strong and acting the way strong people always have acted.

If we're talking Aesop (I love animal stories!), the Wolf And The Lamb truly never grows old.

“A wolf, meeting with a Lamb astray from the fold, resolved not to lay violent hands on him, but to find some plea to justify to the Lamb the Wolf’s right to eat him. He thus addressed him: “Sirrah, last year you grossly insulted me.”

“Indeed,” bleated the Lamb in a mournful tone of voice, “I was not then born.”

Then said the Wolf, “You feed in my pasture.”

“No, good sir,” replied the Lamb, “I have not yet tasted grass.”

Again said the Wolf, “You drink of my well.”

“No,” exclaimed the Lamb, “I never yet drank water, for as yet my mother’s milk is both food and drink to me.”

Upon which the Wolf seized him and ate him up, saying, “Well! I won’t remain supperless, even though you refute every one of my imputations.”

Moral: The tyrant will always find a pretext for his tyranny.”

Please everyone. It was never to be. I am sure you all knew that from day one, but being optimists and humanists you hoped it all meant something positive. A just outcome.

The one thing you did forget was this was always a well planned scheme to try recover some credibility in the eyes of the Arab nations, because in a short while, after the total demise of Gaza, Netanyahu and Trump will need the cooperation of that part of the Middle East to achieve the next level of "Eretz Israel". What this means is that with USA approval, military power and the likes of Miriam Adelson, (and there are a lot like her) will be able to move on to the next step, in time being Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, some of Saudi Arabia, a piece of Egypt, a touch of Turkey and Kuwait. It's all there as part of the grand plan with enough wealthy Zionists in the USA to ensure that the political class remain elected (the political dollars will cover that part) as participants in the well structured and pressure-making ADL and AIPC organisations, the current effective controllers of the USA.

Now 86% Jewish controlled. Weep no more, all you Foundling Fathers. Your decent democratic principles got the USA this far. Sadly, no further. Not the USA any more.

What we are seeing is more of the same with the cunning and guile of Israeli driving the weakness of the USA in the direction they chose 100 years ago, knowing then that there would be an international power that would need cultivating to do their bidding. It was expected to be Great Britain in those early days but WWII put paid to that . All they needed was the total control of a manipulatable buffoon and now they have him, lock stock and barrel (and big red tie).

Lies, devious dealings, murder and mayhem mean nothing to Jews in Israel or their associates in the USA. Deaths well over 200,000 and sadly for all our readers, a lot more to come.

They are on the path to achieving their aims........... as if you really didn't know.

Well, Chang. One would have to admire your values and the knowledge of history you display in your writings. I certainly do. Accurate too, I'll warrant.

In my comment, you have identified errors, and rightly so because there have been thousands of USA errors during this period, none of which need identifying here. But just count up the number of wars, indigenous slaughters, racial pogroms, the Ikes of which may have never been seen before, anywhere (this is probably not accurate either, Chang but it makes a point.)

Now one cannot categorise these in relation to their relative importance and their impact on the communities existing at the time but all would almost pale into insignificance when compared to the fact that we now have a country like the USA, population 343 million, now totally controlled in policy and direction by a little state called Israel, a strange religious sect tucked away in the Middle East, a state of just 9 million.

Now they have introduced so many practices that were never part of the original plans as written by the Foundling Fathers of that once good country. They didn't agree with the purchasing of politicians by bribery and corruption, ending up with a country with 86% of its politicians acting on behalf of a third party like Israel.

They could never have envisaged an uneducated buffoon sitting in The White House like a God, pontificating on all things but knowing little, bringing military personnel by the thousands into cities to kill off any indication of speech to which he did not agree.

That's a dictatorship and that's what America is today.

But what is sad, Chang, is that half the population don't even know it because the media is owned by the very same outsiders, that is disloyal Americans living off the fat of the land with little interest in anything but profit and power, at any cost.

That's America today. The real America. The America now hidden by a corrupted media.

I know you will let me know if I am wrong.
