Power is to sociopaths what catnip is to cats. In fact, these are precisely the humans who will do Whatever It Takes to get power.

Catnip makes cats playful and funny. Power makes humans greedy and grabby and not funny at all.

Governments are run by people who are in it for the power or for the money, in no case should these be the people running things. What we need is to give the job to someone who doesn't **want** it.

- paraphrase of Bertrand Russell (lost the original quote, he was much more eloquent, of course)

But someone who doesn't want the job won't take it.

Hi Starry

I don’t want the job but I’d take it, if I thought I could make an iota of difference.

And I’d do it for subsistence wages.

Actually, most people don't seem to want strangers running around and killling people at random. Sad but true. Now, tigers -- I imagine one entering a dark alley might prefer to find a random tiger than a random human being. But you don't always get a choice.

Luigi was a Tiger..or a Lion…Panther, Cougar, Leopard, whatever one wishes to call him.

We may well reach a point when we DO want people unliving other people…and not at random.

Its over for me! Eleven days of Trumps utter lunacy is enough for me !enough for my nation! , enough for the World! So how do we end it?

Expand full comment
Cara MariAnna's avatar

Out of curiosity: Did you feel the same way about the previous fifteen months watching Joe Biden arm a genocide while providing political and diplomatic cover for Israel? A genocide Kamala Harris went along with? Or is Trump's "lunacy" in some way worse?

Expand full comment
Patricia Blair's avatar

Absolutely! I did not support Biden or Kamala and I spoke out against their support of Israel’s genocide, and other policies that harm humans and the environment. Trump is worse by far!

How does it get worse than genocide?

Not that I believe tRump will end it..,,

Fascism since 1776. Think about it, this country made it's entire empire by dehumanizing and destroying communities.

Whoever replaces Trump in 2029 will be worse: Buttigeig, Vance, Gabbard, Fetterman, Shapiro (odds are we'll run back to the Democrats and continue the eternal cycle of insanity)... It's always a contest to see who can be worse than the last.

Best things to do now:

1. Break up the country. This empire should ended like decades ago.

2. Contact Congress and demand impeachment and removal hearings.

I hope I can write for my friend Pat: to her and me, Genocide Joe and his snake Kamala mirror precisely -- via the damned demonic duopoly that has us by the neck -- Trump and his very own swamp of slithery reptiles.

Pat, if you happen across this, please add your wisdom in your unique spunky way...as you already did above!

The U.S. has been a mess for a long time. Its history is one of genocide, slavery, colonialism. My maternal ancestors arrived 30 years after the Mayflower from England. How they treated people, I can’t say, but I know how to treat people and the environment. I’m just plain disgusted with the lack of integrity.

Damn Caitlin : ) "They can lock up Luigi, but they can't lock up everyone" Damn ha, I wish I had written that. That alone is inspiring to most of us. Bernie Sanders, the coward failing to call out RFKjr. on his " Everyone loves their ins." comments.

Through most of Jan. in Chicago upper 30s to 50 deg F. That is NOT F ing normal. Today it was 50 in F ing Jan. We have had almost no snow as cover for the farm fields. Without enormous amounts of rain this Spring, drought will take the crops.

Not a peep about the climate for many years now. Thank you China for DeepSeek, a black eye to Wall Street. Much love to all in China and Caitlin/family of course : )

Nobody is coming to save anyone. No god, no politician, no billionaire, no non profit. Democrats bleat that they can save your social security, your medicare, your voting rights, but they won't fight their masters. They are paid by the jewish billionaires who run the usa. Look at how little they care about non jews in israel and that is what they have in store eventually for the usa.

I feel that all the Caitlin writes on her newsletter is what many of us feel. But here is my question. what do we do? I feel many of us have fear to really express our authentic feelsings. We have seen in the US how Universities have fired professors for not going along with keeing quiet. Students also punished for protests.. So back to the fear..and this is probably every where. What is said in this newsletter is how most of us feel. What do we do? For me I will share with people I trust. Many times I feel like really giving an opinion of the ugly that is going on the corruption that is going on in governments, companies...imagine if I did that on FB...that is even just a stupid thougt! I would be deleted. I only use it to communicate with family and friends from all over..but still I hesitate. I never thought we would be in this incredible state of feeling numbed, frozen! just last night we saw a uTube about how AI will be able to track every single thing we say and do..and I am not describing this in detail. What kind of world is this? I truly want what Caitlin said in this newsletter..how do we do this?

Put 100million (or more?) NONVIOLENT people in the streets…..just standing there…..or sitting in lawn chairs in their yards. For 1 week. No yelling. No signs. No marching. No violence. Doing NOTHING. Bring the whole sickening mess to a grinding halt. That is all that will get anyone’s attention. Maybe someone will be interested in talking, then.

Cheap. No traveling and burning fuel. No special clothes or songs to learn.

If no meaningful change or progress results?…..do it again.

This will happen……when? Ever? How could it happen? Could it be organized? If it did…what would come afterwards?

Dreaming….sorry.

I have never found making my bed to be silly. It is a rewarding activity increasing the order in my little bit of the planet, gets the day off to a good start and gives me a sense of satisfaction when I return at the end of the day.

"control of the world must be ceded to the dumbest, crudest and cruelest among us".

This is an inevitable result.

The braindead public elect their representative. Well, who better represents them than a dumb idiot?

Although that is only performative entertainment to keep the stupid mass of the popular either content or at each other's throats.

The real cruelest among us are not dumb. They do not subject themselves to elections. They lead by coercion and corruption.
