"People who promote a US/NATO war with Russia are more dangerous and depraved than racists, homophobes, transphobes and antisemites, and they should be treated accordingly. They are the most dangerous extremists on earth. This should be completely uncontroversial and obvious to literally everyone."

Hah! Now THAT'S a hard pill for people to swallow.

Rob Brown's avatar

It is, but it's the truth, and I guess the reason people have so much trouble swallowing that pill is because they've spent most or all of their lives being told (correctly) that bigotry is wrong, but they've simultaneously spent most or all of their lives being told that sometimes you just have to go to war to stop bloodthirsty tyrants. Hitler is invoked a lot, of course, but also Stalin and Mao, which makes it easy to get people scared of Russia and China because "They never REALLY changed, and they were never defeated the way the Axis powers were."

Someone thinking about the relative dangers of bigots and warmongers should be able to see the truth of Caitlin's statement. The average bigot is not Hitler. The average bigot is not even Dylan Rooff. Some of them do go so far as to take lives while motivated by bigotry, but usually when that happens it's not a Holocaust or a church full of people--it's more likely to be one or two people. And then they get imprisoned.

Warmongers kill way more than even a Holocaust, and before anyone gets angry at me for saying so I have a question: is the number of people killed in the ongoing war on terror combined with Cold War 2.0 greater or less than 6 million total deaths? It's greater. It's like 1 million just in Iraq, IIRC. And the warmongers don't get imprisoned afterwards. They continue to be free as birds, free to commit mass slaughter all over again, and again, and again.

So warmongers ought to be the most hated of all, the sorts of people nobody should ever support or follow. Unfortunately, they aren't, and maybe never will be.

One glaring source of empiricism that's left out of Caitlin's excellent analyses is the Fossil Fuel cabal--or as I name them: The Oil, Gas & Coal Crime families.

1st, let me point out some history that I think many of us already know; but don't put the pieces of that history in the correct place on the "puzzle".

Ever since WW1, there have been Central banks, world wide.

Ever since WW1 there have been Oil companies popping up in the Mideast

Ever since WW1, wars have been fought on a larger scale because the weapons of war: tanks, vehicles, aircraft and ships use Oil & Gas (some coal early on).

At some point in the early 20th century, Winston Churchill convinced the British Empire to convert their Ship fleet's energy from Coal to Oil.

This gave rise to new oil companies rising up in Iran.

First they were known as APOC or the Anglo-Persian Oil Company, before WW1.

Then there was political maneuvering that forced Iranian leaders to make deals and or break deals as the case became.

Meanwhile, Oil became the premier source of energy for War machines.

Also there began to develop a merging of some smaller oil companies into larger representations of the Oil industry.

All that time, the banks and the markets (Wall street, etc) began to focus on the profits and investments of foreign nationals in Oil companies that began to grow exponentially in a short period of time.

What this REALLY means is basic Capitalist (with a big C) economic Growth.

Once the threat of WW2 was rearing its ugly face, the Oil Cabal-Cartel began to supply ALL sides of the War participants.

That simply means, in my view, that no matter Who Wins and Who loses the war(s) the Oil companies are 8 out of 10 times, 70%-90% profitable by the end of the war.

Bigger profits meant more investments on Wall street, which meant more gains on Oil company shares and dividends to their shareholders.

And to ADD to that insanity, the Oil purchases had to be paid for using (USD) United States currency, the $dollar.

This affected the currency market of everyone in the world's currency values.

So, not only did Oil companies supply the losers & winners of every war afterward; they also took command of the stock market's gains & losses because of everyone's dependency on Fossil Fuels, mostly Oil & Gas; but some Coal.

My point here is that the US Empire's rise to #1 World Power came as a result of two major things:

1- The US used an Atomic bomb on our enemies in Japan.

No one else has done that purposely ever since.

2 - The US Oil companies were significantly more profitable than some of the Oil companies in the Mideast, because of the contractual agreements set down in 1901 with Iran and later with other Mideastern countries (Saudi Monarchy).

These two reasons, among many others, cemented the US Empire's grip on the world after 1947.

Caitlin doesn't really go into this part for whatever reason; but I won't criticize her for not doing it. She knows what she's talking about anyway.

As far "swallowing the pill" goes, it's my opinion that IF most people realized the Energy issues that predicate the reason for such empiricism, they'd be throwing up their hands in frustration ANYWAY.

But, that is the reason in my opinion, that it's a hard pill to swallow.

Ergo, we all remain imprisoned by the Narrative Matrix that Caitlin very eloquently speaks of in every newsletter/blog that she publishes.

Thank you Caitlin for what you and Tim Foley do.

I for one, appreciate it.

True but “transphobe” is really just propaganda like “words are dangerous”. Maybe there are a few actual dangerous transphobic people in the world but the statistical risk of harm from one is likely less than being struck by lightening.

Rob Brown's avatar

I don't get what you mean. You started out by saying that transphobia wasn't a big deal because hardly anybody who's transphobic will assault a trans person.

I questioned that statement, because I'm not so sure you're right, although I admitted that I didn't have the stats. (Although if I had to guess, I would say that the tendency of certain people in the trans community to boss people around in recent years--not just "treat us like human beings", which is a very reasonable request and which everybody should do, but "Don't you fucking dare question whether trans women competing in athletic competitions against cis women is fair or not!"--has probably created more ill will against trans people in general lately, meaning there are probably more assaults and even murders than before.)

And you came back with the fact that Asians and white people get assaulted too, by black people. Okay. If you're suggesting that we should consider those hate crimes as well, I certainly agree with you about the ones against Asians. And I might agree with you about the ones against white people, if the motive for the crime was simply "That person's white, therefore they deserve an asskicking."

None of these things are anywhere near as big a deal as wars, let alone nuclear war, but they still matter.

They matter for the same reason that wars matter: everybody has a right to be safe, and nobody has a right to physically harm somebody else. It's wrong to do that whether you do it on a large scale by bombing a city and its population to dust when you don't have to, or whether you beat a single person up when you don't have to.

Agree.

The whole trans thing is propaganda that is peddled by the same MSM that is pushing for war. The same one that said the clot shots prevented the spread of COVID, that lockdowns would work, that masks slow/stop viral spread, etc.

I find it amusing that one can spot one type of propaganda but be taken in by another.

As an aside, it is absurd that a person with a dick can compete against people who do not. It’s also absurd that women in an all woman’s prison are getting raped by “women” with dicks. In the old days (like 4 years ago) if a women in prison were to get pregnant the guards were the suspects, now it’s the women inmates with a beard. I’m California they are handing out condoms in womens prison.

Even though they aren't competing in dick-measuring contests, in which case there would be no disputing the unfairness of it, at first I thought "Well, in some sports maybe it's unfair, like weightlifting, and in others it might be more fair. Like the sports that don't boil down to pure brute strength would probably result in it being less lopsided."

That was before Jimmy Dore addressed the Lia Thomas controversy and, as part of that video, showed a story about Serena and Venus Williams challenging any man outside of the top 200. Their challenge was accepted by the guy ranked 203, and...both of them lost to him, 6-1 and 6-2.

https://www.tennisnow.com/Blogs/NET-POSTS/November-2017-(1)/The-Man-Who-Beat-Venus-and-Serena-Back-to-Back.aspx

To be fair, that guy hadn't been on hormones or anything else that would have made him weaker, and if he had been taking those things then I'm not ready to rule out the possibility that either the contest would have been closer or that one of the Williams sisters would have won. BUT, tennis is one of those games where I thought that perhaps gender wouldn't matter quite so much. Apparently it does, at least if you have female professionals facing a male professional, or cis females facing a trans female professional.

But, getting back to the original topic, I agree with this much: everybody who says "We have to control speech and have lots of censorship, because if we don't then think of the poor trans people!" is actually engaging in propaganda when they say *that*. They don't actually care about trans people, or about any other group that doesn't have it easy, so much as they want narrative control and are trying to get everybody else to accept them controlling the narrative by insisting that bad things will happen if they don't.

There is truly totalitarian and barbaric censorship in the US. And atrociously corrupt government.

I often wonder how did the US manage to trick so many people into believing that there is any “freedom of speech” or “democracy” in that country.

Apparently nearly everyone in the US (at least those who watch TV and read mainstream media) hate Russia and Russians. A cheap American propaganda is a constant “admonishment” of the “Russian regime.”

But is it any better in the US with its own endless propaganda and legalized crimes?

This is just my personal opinion, which is based on personal experience: no, it is not. I think it’s worse because of that hypocrisy and because the crimes are disguised as “democracy” and “law.”

I am Russian and for over a decade of living in the US, I have been clearly observing how much “official” hatred there is toward anyone who is of Russian national origin or ancestry.

It’s probably because I was “unlucky” in the US – I spent 2/3 of my life in Russia and had no idea what physical violence is. I also have never been to a court in Russia and never had any encounters with the police in Russia. That is, the first time I saw the cop in close proximity was when I moved to the US and started being physically attacked so that I had to call them to report the crime – in hopes they would investigate.

I have observed truly outrageous and impenetrable level of corruption and “official” crimes in the American “law enforcement” and “courts.” When I tried to speak about it, I was being attacked and silenced. That experience gave me a totally different perspective – no more rose-colored glasses for me. If there is censorship and endless crimes anywhere – then it is right here, in the US.

And they did just that. Although no one seems to remember. I was shocked to learn that some Americans think that "they" won World War II.

I think the real reason "some Americans think that "they" won World War II" is because the US used an Atomic bomb on Japan. It wasn't used on Germany or France, just the Japanese people.

No other "Allies" ever used atomic weapons against the Axis powers or anyone else in the aftermath of WWII which ended in 1945 BECAUSE of the Atomic bomb.

The USA was the "big Cheese" after that and most Americans I've ever had this conversation with STILL BELIEVE that garbage propaganda...PLUS their bigotry expanded to Asian people, no matter where they were (are) or what country they were (are) from.

THAT'S why *some* Americans of the Boomer generation (I'm a boomer and 72 yrs old) believed it and still believe it. You can see it every time the people in Yankee Stadium sing "God Bless America"...it's like a phucking anthem using an invisible ancient being to Bless this War Mongering Empire, so that the game & entertainment can continue!! It's the Tesla of their mistresses, the kitchens and 2nd homes are paid for by helping the CIA depopulate states like West Virginia with opium imports. Ihor Valeriyovych Kolomoyskyi was (and may still be) the CIA and DOD's fixer in Ukraine for drug transshipments from Afghanistan to EU/North America.

Kapo, Mob boss, and media mogul Kolomoyskyi owned (and still owns a share of) Zelinskyy, he created the TV show he starred in. Kolomoyskyi funded the establishment of Azoz from a soccer hooligans' gang he ran early in his career to take out his competitors, and also funded several of the neo-Nazi and original Nazi political parties. He ordered Jr. Kapo Zeleniskyy to east Ukraine to talk to the army not because he wanted peace but because the USA asked him to halt bombardments until after a conference with EU passed. They failed, sometimes Mob bosses don't always have a firm grip.

It didn't matter anyway, as the USA was able to bribe the EU into compliance by handing out post-Eu commission retirement jobs in NATO, World Bank, etc. to the very corrupt EU bureaucracy heavy hitters and a few national leaders like Merkel (who has already picked out her house in Washington).

Starvation. What a way to kill people but I think that Stalin has won that honour. Not known of by many as there was no PR effort from The Ukraine (as it was known then) and no Museums dotting the world with the same old material, one to the other.

Sadly, in this example, the USA is no longer a loved or respected one, such respect now as dead as the 20 million dead from their criminal mistakes since WWII.....and rising daily, spurred along as a proxy war for the objectives of a few.

Next, South East Asia and China. The US warmongers can't get it on soon enough.

For this to change, in contrast to Caitlin's long term optimistic words above, it will first need a disaster of such magnitude as to involve the deaths of millions of Americans (or the threat of same) for the American people to wake as to the environment they have allowed their government to inflict upon their country for decades...and the world for over 70 years.

In my opinion, there is no other alternative. The supremacy of reason has been the casualty.

Slick-water shale fracking has always been a phenomenal way to waste other people's money. It exemplifies peak oil, where you throw investor's capital down $20K holes, a couple miles out, eight to a pad, overlapping, kicking, re-re-refracked with 3-5 million gallons of lethal brine, full of ionizing radiation, that leaks as you're drilling, and then cement-jobs, annulars & actual steel casing fails & spews into aquifers, streams, crops, livestock, people as methane shoots into the atmosphere (and they're now planning for 1.9 million diagonally drilled bores, which cannot be plugged as abandoned. Katrina (destroying Gulf platforms in 4.8K' to 9.6K' deep water & 32K' to 37K' offshore wells) enabled this. This war's to STOP any Russia competition.
