I appreciate just seeing things for what they are. It’s horrible. It kills discussions at various gatherings. It keeps me up at night. It’s atrocious to sit here safely and helplessly watch this unfold.

Thanks for simply trying to bear witness and find some truth.

The death count numbers out of Gaza are certainly far too low. That much is obvious from watching any footage of the survivors in the area. I think your analogy of the husband taking off his mask, revealing that he is indeed a space alien, and the wife then pretending this never happened and asking what he wants for dinner is a good one. The last several years have brutally revealed that those figureheads in charge are nothing more than puppets for lying, genocidal, anti human forces. Yet the implications of this are too much for most people to confront or deal with, so they pretend that what they saw never happened...

You know that hamas is sending out the numbers... so you can easily argue they are too high

Sorry. You are correct, I should have been more clear, not the number, but the causes. But then I don't trust Hamas nor netanyahu. Both awful. Netanyahu would have been gone by now, but Hamas did a great job of bringing him back from the dead.

Yazan Abuodeh's avatar

No hamas is not controlling the numbers, the ministry of health is a civil service. We and I know some of the doctors personally and their numbers are legit. The only hasbara and propaganda is from the zionist death cult.

MLC's avatar

Israel may be a zionist death cult, but hamas and it's ministries are no less so. I will remind you only one group has genocide of a people as the second sentence of their constitution, and it is not israel. That said, reading this thread has confirmed exactly what I thought. The only sane path forward is neither Hamas nor any far right coalition in Israel. Anyone deeply supporting either is mentally unwell.

Yazan Abuodeh's avatar

Ok you're spread8ng propaganda here... the only genocides are the ziodeath cult, they killed Palestinians and their own people. Go play somewhere else and get your fact straight. Go and read facts, their charters even founders says it clearly the enemy is zionism. bye bye zio bot, we can see you

From an op-ed written in the London Times during Operation Cast Lead in 2008:

“The political leadership of Hamas is probably the most highly qualified in the world. Boasting more than 500 PhDs in its ranks, the majority are middle-class professionals—doctors, dentists, scientists, and engineers. Most of its leadership have been educated in our universities and harbor no ideological hatred towards the West. It is a grievance-based movement, dedicated to addressing the injustice done to its people. It has consistently offered a ten-year ceasefire to give breathing space to resolve a conflict that has continued for more than 60 years.

The Bush-Blair response to the Hamas victory in 2006 is the key to today’s horror. Instead of accepting the democratically elected Government, they funded an attempt to remove it by force, training & arming groups of Fatah fighters to unseat Hamas militarily and impose a new, unelected government on the Palestinians. Further, 45 Hamas MPs are still being held in Israeli jails…”

If I criticise British, French or Russian policy I am criticising policy, so if I criticise Israeli policy I'm committing something call a 'blood libel', is that a specially bad kind of libel? Is it so very different from criticising any other countries policies that it has it's own category? What utter shite, used as a device to close down any discussion of Israeli government. As Caitlin has pointed out almost daily since this started, if you can't see that dropping 2000 pounds bombs on densely populated areas is just wrong you have no morals.

I think blood libel refers to a story that at the time of a Christian holiday especially Easter stories were spread thst jews would kill a Christian child for its blood which was then mixed with matza and consumed. I seem to remember reading this in a book entiled 'Pogram' written by a Stanford University scholar with regard to the Kishinev Pogram in 1905.

Thanks for the info, I do know that, I was being slightly tongue in cheek. I do wonder why the utter fuck though Jewish commentators get away with dragging that phrase up and using it to try to club other people into silence when talking about Israel's actions. It's actually a pathetic closing down but used too often in MSM as if it gives the wielder some kind of extra moral superpower.

When it comes to Isreal, there is no policy differences between Biden and Trump (USA), Rishi Sunak and Kier Starmer (UK) and Trudeau or Poilieve (CA).

What worries me are the new "hate speech" laws being introduced throughout the west. So far no one has been able to define "hate", the definition of "anti-semitism" is becoming broader by the minute while "Islamaphobia" is ... well .. perfectly acceptable.

Thank you and you are right — never forget so many recent lies in the US “Empire of Lies” as astute president Putin calls us.

• At least one million dead and permanently disfigured Slavs from two beautiful, closely related and largest Slavic nations — victims of Anglo-Saxon historical chauvinism and bipartisan War party permanent wars..

• And tens of millions dead and injured from a bioweapon virus -- designed and developed in a US lab. Yet St. Fauci and his team is not in jail – permanently protected by DNC-CIA cabal.

• Plus -- a US genocide in Gaza ! US actively sabotaged a two-state solution for decades;. In the latest and current Gaza genocide, the Nazi-dominated government monsters of Israel are just the executioners.

But sit back and let the horrible thing happen, and THEN months/years later tell a truth that could have prevented enormous atrocities, and you're some kind or a hero.

Just for giggles, are you Jewish or Palestinian? Ever visited israel, the occupied territories or a concentration camp (what is left?)?

How's your math? 60% of jews were killed during the holocaust, less than 001% of Muslims killed in Gaza. And even if you agree and 50k/2 million Palestinians not even close.

Are you as upset with China about their actual concentration camps.

I agree that both hamas and netanyahu have to go. But I wonder what utopia you think would happen if israel were to just disappear? You know power is power, and most freedom fighters become despots pretty quickly. In fact, Hamas already is. But I look forward to hearing your plan... in detail.... go ahead

Caitlin, I want to give you a big hug! I am also going to use your term "imperial media" from now on. Didn't this stupid media not notice the devastation that the rest of us have been witnessing these past eight months - thanks to the brave Palestinian journalists ( most of them dying to let the world know the truth so that they will do something to stop the carnage), also AL Jazeera till they were kicked out by the Israeli regime? Now the imperial media feigns surprise?! To quote Caitlin, "Foreign reporters now making their way into Rafah for the first time since the Israeli assault on the city began are now describing the place as a “flattened wasteland,” a “maze of rubble,” and “unrecognizable.”

In that interview of Biden by the ABC he says he is " running the world " implying that he has brains enough to run an empire! To create death, devastation, theft and ecological disaster no doubt. Who gave him ( or the deep state that pulls the strings ) the right to run the world? It is time for the sane world to rise up and destroy the myth, instead of watching in bemusement an unholy tussle between two ageing braindead humans as to who is more fit to run the world! We will be as braindead as them if we let this go on.

As disappointed I am in the DNC's ability to put up a functional candidate who will not finish the destruction of the American republic, I am more disappointed in the Biden facilitators.
