I was initially surprised, but then it made sense. She seemed more an elitist than a feminist to me. Her intended audience was elite white women, especially, it seemed, those with rich and preferably powerful husbands. I remember her rebuking women who voted for Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 primaries. She said they were overly influenced by their “boyfriends.”You know, the “Bernie Bros,” a label created by the Clinton campaign. How demeaning to women was that? The old trope that they’re incapable of making up their own minds. I read a book once about how negatively Clinton’s policies as Secretary of State impacted women around the world. Why would anyone who cared about women in general campaign for someone married to a serial womanizer and abuser. The last photo I saw of Bill Clinton was from the Epstein files. It briefly made the mainstream media. He was in a hot tub with a teenage girl (although the middle part of her face was blacked out). This was a photo of a real event that Clinton acknowledged in his deposition before Congress. He said he didn’t know the girl. That was accepted as exoneration by the Democratic-leaning U.S. media, including MS NOW. Rules for thee and not for me. This is about economic class — not gender.

Gloria left her hometown of Toledo and went to the bright lights of Langley and NYC. They name things after her here, because she's one of the celebrities who people outside of Toledo know (outside of Jamie Farr and Danny Thomas) but celebrities never return home or really care about the working class neighborhoods where they were raised, do they?
