I will never forgive “Genocide Joe” for Gaza. I wrote him when he was president asking him for an arms embargo and for a call for a ceasefire. His reply was a defiant rebuke, citing the usual justifications out of the Israeli playbook — Israel has a right to defend itself, the U.S. would never abandon its ally, Israel, the U.S. would relentlessly oppose terrorism, etc. When Biden was in the senate, before he became VP, he received more money from AIPAC than any other member of Congress.

I invoked Biden’s support for, i.e., enablement of a genocide and told the author he should be ashamed of himself. My FIL died of prostate cancer that spread to his bones and eventually to his liver. He suffered enormous pain. I pitied him, but I have no sympathy for Biden. The pain he is feeling is a tiny, tiny fraction of the pain he has inflicted.

Why mention it then? Cancer effects everyone in this day and age, rich and poor. Mentioning it brings up painful memories for many of us (especially if we're at risk for it as well). The commentary that war criminals should be imprisoned can be made without bringing up an illness that strikes so many every year.
Joe Biden is an old man in decrepit flesh. Cancer is extremely common. If you live old enough, odds are you are going to get it same as many others. Joe Biden happens to have the privilege of getting treatment and palliative care and being surrounded by loved ones in a comparatively stress-free setting. Bombs aren't going off around him. His loved ones aren't being murdered by an army of evil. He's not being deprived of treatment like Palestinians with cancer were. He didn't start dying of cancer as a child or young adult in their prime. He lived a full human life. His death is absolutely one of privilege. I don't mean to invalidate your feelings about cancer or any other illness for that matter but I think you are making something out of nothing here.

But many questionable actions are being taken to help tip the voting scale toward Republican candidates in a way that smacks of third world interference. Trump may even attempt to declare some kind of emergency to remove all obstacles for Republican election interference, in the coming midterms - and perhaps in the next POTUS election cycle.
You know what is partiicularly depressing though? The economy will crash - and many Americans will struggle like they never have before. But because corporate media now dominates the airwaves - with 24/7 corporate lies - now that the American government is bought and sold to the highest bidders - run by the MIC and Wallstreet and Israeli billionaires - now that Americans have been so beaten down by the "new normal" - more and more living in their cars and working Gig jobs that no longer pay anything worth living for - things will probably not change much at all - for at least a decade or two. The malaise of the American people coupled with the mass surveillance and totalitarian police state - will freeze the needed change in the country. And if you're hoping the Democratic party is going to bring about the much needed change - good luck. A few so-called left-wing progressives elected in a party dominated by corporate-centrist dems is not going to change the party one whit.
