IIRC, about 1/3 of the prewar population of Leningrad died, without the Nazis ever have seized the city.

I guess the thrust of this article is to convince people that Bibi is evil, and by extension, Israel is evil. But is either even controversial at this point, especially among this readership?

I think this is a larger societal issue of American cowardice in any situation in which standing up for truth is risky to one's job/pay/other status. I've been in numerous situations where, afterward, colleagues were enthusiastic to congratulatorily slap me on the back for articulating an objection to an unjust authoritarian pronouncement, but were conveniently mute during the process itself. I've seen a shitload of such duck-and-cover cowardice in my lifetime. I can't speak for other western cultures, but would opine that the national character of the good ol' USA and its institutions cannot ever be depended upon to call out lies.

In this current juncture, one can count on the US, Israel, and - alas - the UK-advised Ukraine Nazis, to fake, feign, and disrupt negotiations. Israel has even perfected the dastardly art of killing the negotiators of the opposite side.

Thus, the latest killing of the children and other civilians in Gaza, among a string of other atrocities and war crimes like cutting off food, water, electricity and vital aid already agreed upon -- all intendedto blow up the "deal".
What gives? My hunch is that Netanyahu and Trump have decided to broaden the conflict to engulf Iran. Hence, the White House's recent declaration holding Iran "responsible" for Yemen's embargo on shipping to Israel.
